500mL bottle. Pours a clear straw color with zero head. No lacing. Aroma is bready. Picking up on grains, sweetness, a bit of skunk, and honey. Really nice aroma. Taste is a sweet, grainy flavor with a honey aftertaste. Very little, if any, alcohol flavor. Nicely hidden for the higher ABV. This is a really tasty, easy drinking, high ABV beer. I like Black Boss Porter and I am digging this beer as well. A solid beer for under $2. Tough to beat that deal. Overall, looks like I will be stocking up on this one for the warm weather and the Black Boss Porter for the cold weather months.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a crystal-clear body and a light effervescence. Head is a finger of quickly-dissipating white foam. Not too bad.

Smell: strongish aroma of wet grain and dank dampness. Not great.

Taste: sweet, dank dampness and a bit of alcohol bite. Kind of sickly tasting. Not good.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation. OK, but ... I don't really want to drink any more to judge the mouthfeel.

Overall: not among my favorite beers. I think this bad boy is going to be a drain pour.

Golden body, thick white head, sticky rings down the glass. Light, bready malt notes in the smell. Sweet grass. Taste mirrors the aroma character, coming across like a sweet cookie dough. Bitterness is faint, primarily making its presence at the finish. Medium mouthfeel, a bit sugary.

An okay brew. A bit on the sweet side for me, but not overpowering with its alcohol content (as far as flavor goes). I'd drink it again, but it probably just would not be my first choice if other options were available.

The pour gives a light golden, straw colored brew. There is a quick one finger head of tight white bubbles, but it is gone quickly. The swill is translucent, with no sediment noted. Carbonation looks to be standard. The aroma is predominated by the grain bill. Malts and barely are detected, but adjuncts, specifically corn, are heavy and almost sour. There is a slight sweetness wafting off the surface, but this seems more attributable to the alcohol, curiously, rather than a fruit, or esters. As we sip, there is graininess up front. The corn is actually palpable, and quite dominant, as well. These flavors smooth out a bit through the middle, and the malts here taste somewhat of dried grass and straw. The finish is rounded out by bitterness of that same grain and some hollow malts. A sugary sweetness is the last thing that leaves the tongue, but it is briefly lived. The aftertaste breathes, again, with a bitter grassiness, grain, and slight sweetness. The body is light and the carbonation is medium to high, as it prickles the tongue ever so slightly. The feel is on the watery end, and the beer neither coats nor dries the mouth. The mouth is left feeling wet, but nothing else. The abv is stronger and only minutely noticed. The drinkability is fine.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew was how there was nothing majorly offensive. Everything about it was kind of middle of the road for the style. Adjuncts were highly detectable in both the aroma and the taste, making this a bland choice.

A pasty white fizzy head rises and fades semi quickly over clear tan pale orange color.

Nose brings some malts, extra and syrup aromas, a light grassy hop.

Taste of extract flavors, a light syrupy flavor, some malty flavors too, a light hoppy grassy flavor, little bitterness, some fruity lager flavors too. Finishes sticky and lingering syrupy extract and malt flavors.

Mouth is medium bodied and syrupy.

An OK drinkability, syrupy and sticky, some extract flavors take away a bit, and not as crisp and clean as a lager should be.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, minimal carbonation, oraange-yellow in color, clear

Smell: honey, grass, and grain

Taste: honey, grass, minerals, and grain

Mouthfeel: stick sweet, medium-low carbonation, light body

Drinkability: My only experience in this style is Mocne and Baltika #9. This is way better than both of those. That said, it is still not a favorite. The honey taste is above average, but this beer is too sweet. A little hops to counterbalance that would go a long way with this beer. Above average for style, ok for beer.

Poured into 12oz glass. Poured a clear golden yellow, with just more than a trace of white head that had no retention or lacing.

There was a slight skunky smell when I opened the bottle, but that didn't show through after I had poured it into the glass. The aroma was a mostly grain scent, with just a hint of hop at the finish. The taste was very similar to the aroma with the addition of a slight caramel taste at the very end of the finish.

The body was good, fuller than most lagers and a little heavier. The body also was not as crisp, but the fullness nicely countered that. Drinkability was very good, although at 8.1% it's not exactly a "lawnmower" beer. You could have a couple of these enjoyably and it's a beer you might keep a couple of around for when you're in the mood. I suspect you'll be in the mood regularly.

Poured from a 500mL bottle into a 0.5L Pilsner Urquell-branded pilsner glass.

Appearance: Pours a translucent muted golden color with lots of carbonation bubbles. The head is tight and frothy and dissipates quickly. The head leaves considerable lacing on the glass.

Smell: Highly malty and very sweet-smelling. Hints of corn, rice, or some other adjunct. However, a kind of bready maltiness mostly hides the adjunct smell.

Taste: Malty with a sickeningly sweet aftertaste. Reminds me of some American malt liquors. The high alcohol content is very noticeable here but not in a good way. Besides that, corn and ricey adjunct flavors come through strongly.

Mouthfeel: Like drinking over-carbonated water.

Drinkability: Don't bother. This is just a high-alcohol adjunct lager. You can get this quality for much cheaper in the states. This is one occasion to forget about Poland...

Poured from 500ml bottle into Budweiser branded American-style pint glass.

Appearance: Pours deep straw color, with no head to speak of- just a bit of white foam and bubbles floating at the top.

Smell: A bit of yeast with a bit of alcohol.

Taste: Sweet malt and an alcohol finish with a strange (but not bad) sweetened-coffee taste in the back of the throat. Slight hints of grain and corn.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with slightly sharpened carbonation. Very refreshing.

Drinkability: This is the easiest drinking beer I've had for its ABV, bar none. That being said, there isn't a whole lot to this one.

Appearance- A sudsy white head, a pale copper yellow beer with a slight chill haze.

Smell- Yeast and a slightly sweet pilsner malt

Taste- Pale and lightly sweet malt, moderate hop bitterness which fades in equal measure with the hops.

Mouthfeel- Crisp, and a bit too thin bodied with a dry finish.

Drinkability- Very refreshing and quaffable, but not this brewery's best beer. Try their porter-Black Boss much better.

Poured a lighter golden/yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of grass and rotten vegetables. Tastes was the same with a light sweet maltiness. Body on the thinner side. That skunky/vegetables where really disracting.

Sparkly clear macro-yellow straw color, wet looking foam.

Super skunked, probably has something to do with the damn green bottle.

Let this one air out a bit, the skunk went away pretty much. Sweet grain in the aroma. Huge metallic twang in the taste. This ones going down the drain.

Bought a 16 oz. bottle of this for about $1.00

Pours with practically no head even with an aggressive pour and smells/looks like malt liquor. Take a sip.... even tastes like malt liquor. It isn't terrible... the 8% ABV is very well hidden, but the beer doesn't taste too good either. Basically if you want a cheap, strong beer that isn't offensive give this one a whirl. My first stab at a "Euro Strong Lager"... I think I'll avoid this category in the future.

poured a clear dark golden verging on ultralight amber with a pillowy linen-colored head that faded slowly into a frothy collar leaving a bit of lacing down the glass.

aroma of malt and honey. Toasty and bready with caramel and toffee sweetness, honey, and hints of maple syrup.

taste follows the aroma. fairly simple malt profile with some bready and toasty notes augmented by a fair bit of clover honey and caramel sweetness. A touch of hops keeps it slightly balanced and the alcohol subtly rounds out the flavors.

Smooth and full bodied. Solid carbonation. All around a pleasant drink.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, but definitely a solid strong lager, and better than many I've had the pleasure of trying. I could easily see drinking this one again, as the flavor isn't bad, the mouthfeel is clean, and the abv is essentially hidden. Not outstanding, but definitely not bad. Worth a shot if you can find a good deal on it.

A: Pours a golden hued yellow. Still a little more color then your run of the mill macro. Small to medium sized head with fine foaming and little lacing.

S: Slight bread and yeast aroma with a honey undertone. Alcohol pretty well hidden by grainy goodness.

T: Minor amount of hops and a pretty good sweet kick. Light malty caramel presence. Alcohol is apparent and welcomed.

M: Light to medium body with little carbonation. While filling it is relatively clean and crisp tasting.

D: For the price this is worth picking up. Plus it's from Poland. Throw on some Chopin, Vader, Riverside, Behemoth, Decapitated (RIP), Sceptic, Nyia, or any other great music from the motherland and enjoy.

This beer is a nice pale wheat color and smelled of malt and grains. It had little head and some lacing that fades quickly. Tastes of malt and honey with a smooth mouth feel and nice carbonation. This is a nice brew with all the Lager characteristics and a little more oomph.

Pours a hazed gold with almost no head. Nose is of grain and alcohol. Typical stuff. Flavor is smooth with a sweet overall tone to it, but not so overly sweet that it overpowers. Slight corn taste it seems, but overall just a smooth lager. Feel is nice. Good amount of carbonation and goes down smooth. Highly drinkable. Sure it is a typical old lager, but these guys go down smooth and even. Could sit with these all night.

Boss Beer - 500 MIL bottle - Poland -

No expiration date. Got from heavy Polish / Eastern European liquor store in Chicago. Pours a yellow amber. Small laced head that fades soon. First smells of honey... tastes of massive honey! Overwhelming tastes of honey. Leaves dry, honey / wheaty taste. Decent beer. Not special, tho. If you can get it for $1.29 or less its worth a try.

500ml bottle Light golden beer, small white head, some lacing. Aroma is actually not too bad, honeyish malts mainlly but it smelled fresh to me. Flavour sweet malts, rather honeyish,marshmallow even, the barest hint of hops, somewhat salty. Not bad on the palate, heavy but smooth enough. FAR FAR better than any of its American cousins , the Malt Liquors.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pilsener. Small head, nice deep gold that provoked thirst and hunger.

Smell was grainy but a bit skunky, belying the wonderful grainy sweet taste that flowed from the bottle. A generous mix of sweet and bitter that finished with mild sweet aftertaste. Good balance of alcohol, no edge at all, which was surprising. I would have guessed half of the 8% alcohol that was actually in it.

Emptied it steadily. I could drink this stuff every day, may be my #1 micro lager for a while.
