Served on tap. Retains a thin layer of light head... Nothing spectacular.
Malt sugar smell... No real hop aroma
Taste is sweet and generic brown ale like.
Light body
Overall it was ok just a plain brown ale.... Not my particular style so its hard to judge without bias

First had: on tap at Big Bear, Coral Springs, FL
Clear mahogany brown pour with a small off-white head; minimal retention and lacing. Basic aroma consistent with the style, nutty, caramel malts. Taste was similar, sugary malts, somewhat nutty, toasted grains, a slight hop bitterness in the finish. Light-medium body, and pretty easily drinkable. Nothing special, but nothing really bad.

A - Poured a clear, brown color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left very little lacing.
S - It smelled of caramel and toffee. There was a slightly nutty aroma, too.
T - It tasted malty with some sweet caramel. It had some earthy/grassy character, too.
M - It was fairly crisp and sharp. A light to medium bodied brown ale.
O - This is a pretty nice brown ale. Another solid, sessionable brew at Big Bear.

Tried as a 5oz sample on tap
A - Brown with reddish highlights, Off white head falls to a skim.
S - Very sweet, brown sugar, nut.
T - Taste follows nose with addition of caramel. Has acidic aftertaste. This brew is cloyingly sweet.
M/F - Light body and lightly carbonated...a little flat.
D - Too sweet and too flat - didn't finish.

This brown ale pours a "just darker" than the red ale with a typical mahogany hue. Light scents of some Earthy husky grain. Overall roasted caramel and some nuttiness in the finish. A malty vanilla pecan ice cream backing. A bit on the thin side, and grainy. It's a brown.
