Pilsner appearance, light carbonation. The smell is more complex than other cheap beers that I've had. This one has a cereal nose with a hint of, you never would have guessed it, orange. The taste is nothing special, just crispness in a can, and you can certainly drink many of these guys. I'd say this is a great summer beer. Overall, I'm impressed for the price. This shows that the Europeans make great cheap beer where America makes shitty cheap beer. Go craft in America, go cheap in Europe. That's my slogan.

Pale golden color with two fingers head with medium retention.
Aroma of grassy hops.
Similarly, flavor of grassy hops and malt sweetness.
Aftertaste a bit watery and I felt some oxidation, though not annoying.
Light Pilsner with a refreshing sensation, for a hot day.

Small white head settles into a thinnish lacing above a clear bright golden colored beer.

Light sour citrus lemon with some wheat grains and maybe some slight spices showing up in the aroma.

Light grain malts, some sourness, very light lemon, and some very light spice notes in the taste of this lager.

A dry aftertaste with a very slight sour note on this light bodied beer.

Not a bad tasting beer, just not enough taste within the thin walls of this glass of beer.

Another budget grab from Trader Joes. Poured into 16oz nonic. Poured a very nice golden-straw color with over an inch of fluffy white head that had good retention and OK lacing.

The aroma was on the good side of typical for the style, nice grains and gentle hops. There was just a bit of sweetness in the nose. The flavors were pretty much the same, the sweetness wasn't as apparent and the grains and hops balanced each other very nicely.

The body was good, smooth, even, clean and well balanced. Drinkability was very good, the beer went down quickly and easily after a 2+ hour bike ride. Overall, an above average example of the style. Worth grabbing a can if you see it and are in the mood for light, smooth, easy drinking beer.

A: The beer is crystal clear deep yellow in color and has a very light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that died down and left patches of bubbles on the surface and a thin ring around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of grainy malts and sweetness in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell, having flavors of grainy malts along with a slight amount of sweetness. There are also some hints of grassy hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but doesn’t have any interesting aromas or flavors.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium golden yellow in color with light amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a half finger tall fluffy white head that quickly reduces to an extremely thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aroma of grainy adjunct malts with some sweetness. There is a very faint hint of grassy hops but not much.

T: Upfront this beer is all moderate flavors of grainy adjunct malts with just a hint of sweetness. After that there is a light flavor of grassy hops which contribute some light amounts of bitterness which lingers through the finish.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.

O: This beer is not bad but it not anything special either - easy to drink and sessionable but not sure that I would really want to have more than one of these at a time. I wish this had a little more hop presence (not a ton but just a hint more).

A: Pale golden hue, formed a 1-finger frothy, off-white head that faded as quickly as it formed, with scant lacing.

S: Faint grainy/grassy notes, with some citrus happiness.

T: I've never called a beer "vapid" before, buy in this case, the description fits. There's some grainy malt at the start, and a little tartness in the middle before the bitter hops finish, but none of the flavors really stands out.

M: Medium crispness, but feels a little flat. Maybe it's a Dutch thing?

O: Nothing about this beer is BAD, but neither is there anything very good about it. It tastes a little watered down, and finishes
just about even with your typical American macro. In a nutshell: I won't be buying any more of this brand.

16 oz pint can, 5% ABV, no freshness date.

Golden-yellow appearance with carbonation bubbles rising. Fluffy white head with good retention. Tawny; not entirely clear in body. Appearance: 4/5

Spicy and grainy in aroma. Wet grass. The faintest touch of sweet caramel underneath grains and hops. Smell: 3.5/5

Tinny, pasteurized can tang up front, followed by grains, bittering hops, spicy hops flavor and a dry finish. Drink this colder than I did (stay below 50 degrees F). Taste: 3/5

Creamy body (hops flavor), balanced hops & malt bill, and medium bodied. Feel: 4/5

Overall: 3 out of 5. An average Euro-lager. Not bad at all, just nothing exceptional. I'm thinking pork sausages and potatoes with this one.

On the quest to find the best cheap Euro Lager. So far it's been Pete's...

A: Pours the usual pale straw color. Excellent clarity, minimal head retention, no lacing, ample carbonation.

S: Bland beer smells. Mild hop aromas, slightly spicy and floral. Malts are in there somewhere, but everything is fairly muted.

T: Very subdued flavors. Mildly sweet, with some hop spiciness. An odd metallic taste permeates everything. Again, bland.

M: Thin, watery. Not a whole lot going on in this department either.

O: A strictly mediocre beer. Still better than the American adjuncts.

Pours out a clear straw yellow with a head one finger head. Retention is OK as it settles down a thin lace on top of the lager.

There really is not much aroma. It is clean with a faint cooked grains aroma.

The flavor is light with cooked grain and a very mild grassy hop.

Clean and very light body.

There is nothing special about this lager. It is clean yet lacks any kind of flavor.

I bought a six pack of cans from Trader Joe's for dirt cheap. Not nearly as bad as some of the other reviews have given. Can popped with no fizz but it poured a 2" off-white head with medium lifespan. It's a clear straw yellow color. Smells like grass and grain. The taste is mild with malt and a very tiny bitter aftertaste of hops. The mouthfeel is a little creamier than most American BMCs but otherwise they're equivalent.

Decided to take a gamble on this stuff for the heck of it. My thoughts as followed..

A - Pours a pale, clear gold, with a weak, white head, leaving a small ring of lacing.

S - Light scents of cereal grain/grass, honey, and hints of lemon.

T - Taste is of pale/honey malts, balanced w/light, grassy hops. Flavor is pretty light and plain, but inoffensive.

M - Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium. Heavier than say, a B/M/C light beer option, but lighter than more prominent examples of this style.

O - Overall, an okay beer. There are better examples of this style out there, but this one is cheap, and makes a decent lawnmower/hot day kinda beer. Can't really complain here for the cost.

From the tall can poured into a Stella glass. Yellow amber color with a nice head but coarse carbonation. More flavor than American industrial lagers, but rather anemic by the better Euro standards. Slightly malty flavor.

A tang, rather than a taste of hops. Not even worth the price at Trader Joe's, where it has been a cheap Euro lager staple for years. The Simpler Times Wisconsin beers are even cheaper but so much better.

500 ml can from Trader’s Joe. Pours golden with a thick, long lasting white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grass, grain and dough. Body is light and smooth. Taste is a little bit of hops, a little bit of biscuit malt and a lot of sourness. The can was probably old, but still I don’t think I will buy this beer again.

Serving Type - 16.9 oz can

Appearance - Fizzy yellow/golden tan, 1 inch white head that died pretty quickly. Not much lacing.

Smell - Malts, pale yeasty aroma. Grainy, grassy, classic skunky aroma. Maybe slight dank hops and a little spice.

Taste - German malty flavor, mixed in with some floral hops, orange peel, corriander and some spices. Corn and yeast remind you this is a low quailty brew, finsh all to well reminds me of cheap american beer like miller or busch.

Mouthfeel - Its light, not much in it to killer your tastebuds. Tounge and palette basically both get malts, some floral hops and yeast. Aftertaste is corn and yeast with the classic skunky flavor.

Overall - Its better then a miller or bud, but not worth buying. Its low alcohol, easy to drink feel would appeal to the classic american macro beer drinker, or someone that likes imported beers like becks or heiniken. Not for me, cant recommend it.

Poured this 16 oz can into a pint glass. This Euro Pale Lager poured a clear golden color, produced a average white head and featured poor head retention. It provided a small amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma of this lager smelled of cooked vegetables, malt and a touch of hops. Light in body, this lagger is thin, and it features a earthy grain flavor. There is a suggestion of citrus and it has a dry finish. Overall there is not much flavor or much of anything to be excited about- I will avoid this one in the future. Prost!

Poured from 500mL can into a Pilsner glass.

Appearance: medium yellow-gold hue with a crystal-clear body and a moderate effervescence. Head is two thick fingers of pillowy white foam. Not bad.

Smell: dry malt with quite a bit of graininess. I'm usually not a big fan of this particular odor profile, but in this case it seems to be executed pretty well. Maybe not my favorite, but largely without major flaws.

Taste: again, dry malt and quite a lot of grainy character. Unlike a lot of beers like this, though, there's not an off-putting sourness here. Basic, but actually not too bad.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a really good carbonation and quite a creamy mouthfeel. Surprisingly good.

Overall: a very drinkable pale lager. This is one of my choice tailgating beers.

Pours a brilliant clear golden color with a bright white colored head, I've never seen this beer in the states. Country of origin is definitely Holland but this stuff is brewed by Hofbrauhaus in Braunschweig, Germany. 16 ounces in a six pack of cans for 7.99 you really can't beat that price. But how does the actual beer match up to the price. The symbol is the royal orange tree with a crown over it, can alone is very nice with blue silver and orange color pattern, literally made me want to buy this beer and believe that it was something special. Aromatics don't impress me much more of a muted cooked vegetable, corn syrup fermented out. Although brewed in Germany, I don't think this was brewed with just malts, hops, barley, and water. As I take a few more sniffs there is something pleasant about the overall smell I'm getting that makes it bearable. Flavor has an assertive grainy flow that has metallic edges and moderate sweetness suggestive of corn/malts with mild light herbal muddled hop grassiness. Mouthfeel is pretty carbonated lighter bodied mass produced industrial lager from Europe. This beer has a history of an original site in Holland, that has been bought out by Interbrew, now Inbev, and is just now part of a portfolio of similar beers that will sell well to the masses. Overall a slightly above average Euro lager with some redeeming qualities in between some rather harsh moments in each sip.

Pours a pale golden yellow with little streams of bubbles. The head rose two+ fingers and receded to nothing. No lace whatsoever.

The aroma has that unmistakable grassy/veggie smell. Cereal-like grainy malts and grassy hops. Crisp.

The flavors are similar to the nose. Grainy, cereal like sweetness with an overarching vegetable flavor. Some grassy hops dry everything out before veggies take over in the finish. No real off flavors, clean.

Light body, crisp and relatively dry. Just a light lingering veggie flavor. A little fizzy.

Overall, this is an average example of the style. It does nothing to separate itself from the rest of the pack, but is by no means not drinkable. This beer has its place: a nice sunny day working in the yard or at a ballgame.

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium gold body with a short-lived inch of white suds.

Smell: On the whole, it's quite grainy in the aroma. Beyond that, there's a teeny tiny hint of vague sweetness, a bit of uncooked corn, and zestful continental hops. Ho-hum.

Taste: Grainy, faintly bready pils malts. Lightly sweet. A bit husky in the fore. Spicy European hops, reasonably bitter. Hint of dried corn kernels. And, quite a bit husky on the back half, too. Finishes dry and still husky. Has a scuzzy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A lackluster lager. The huskiness here is unpleasant, so keep it cold and throw it back fast, if you must.

Very clear. Very straw colored yellow. Very fizzy white head. This doesn't appeal to me at all--- but I can see it being enticing to others.... Surprisingly nice lacing and retention though.
The nose and flavor are virtually dead. This is so bland, it is hard to really give any descriptors. I get the slightest hint of light brown sugar for some reason though... odd, right?
Just a touch of bitterness at the backend. Pretty dry and crisp finish-- a little too dry, if you know what I mean...

The body is thin, watery, and light... Lots of carbonation here.

Overall-- meh. This isn't good. It isn't terrible, but it is so bland and boring that if it some how became a vapor, birds would fall from the sky- dead of boredom.

I got this can from Trader Joe's. This one pours a clear pale straw topped by a finger of white froth. The nose comprises wheat, grain, and hard water. The taste holds notes of wheat, light orange peel, slight floral and malt. The body is quite light, with a light carbonation and a watery feel. Overall, a pretty standard beer, nothing to rave for or against.

Golden color, not super high carbonation, not really very fragrant but beer is the common man's drink and this is definitely worth having in the fridge for a cold one
