Small bottle of 330 ml, poured into a snifter. Ingredients are water, barley and hops. I got it in the Netherlands where it's actually made, although on the label says that is imported by a company in Suriname. Blank crown cap, no brand or anything written on it.Smell is sweet from the bottle.
Pours a totally black coloured beer, with half finger of beige head, with low retention. Also, no lacing left behind. I expected the head to be a bit more creamy and with better retention. Another, more hard pour gave me two fingers of head this time, with slighty better retention and better lacing. Let's just assume I didn't pour it right the first time.
Smell is weird, sour but also sweet at the same time. Reminds me of a sort of very sweet red wine. Some toffee and dark chocolate aromas.
I get this feeling on the taste too. It's mostly sweet, with only slight sour traces. Alcohol only on the aftertaste and even then, not so much. Good. Light flavour of roasted malts also.
Average thickness and light carbonation. Very dry on the palate.
Nice beer, easily drinkable. but that's because it's a bit flat. Some more thickness and carbonation would do this beer good.

Aroma - pretty strong chocolate aroma, something kind of bready/estery about it, reminds me of xingu
Appearance - nearly opaque brown, a hint of lighter brown in good light, head is minimal & somewhat disappointing
Taste - alcohol is quite evident, partially masking the chocolate and roasted malt flavors; the lack of hop flavor is appropriate for the style
Mouthfeel - seems a little light, but carbonation is good and warming sensation is acceptable given the 7.2%
Overall - not a bad beer, but also not terribly impressive; could go for more body and more head

This is practically a malt beverage.
Pours very dark with a tiny tan head, no retention, no lacing.
Right off the bat you get some mellow hops, but it's immediately overpowered by very deep sweet malts, with a faint ester.
The taste is more subtle than the smell suggests. No hops, just sweet malt all the way, until it ends with a slightly metallic taste.
Medium bodied, fades quickly.
All in all, its a malt beverage more than a stout, but I can see why this appeals to the mass market that likes regular beers and the once in blue moon black beer.

Corn is in ingridients, pah! Dutch brewers will never study brewing, except Koningshoeven.
Pours quite black, almost opaque, beer with good tan head. Aroma is Dutch, that is specific hops flavour + a bit of chocolate and roasted malt.
I suspect a taste is bad, yeah I'm right, alcohol is well-hidden, so my tongue buds are perceiving only a sequence of roasted malt and unpleasant metallic adjunct tones with modest bitter aftertaste. I readily marked it down!

According to my bottle this has an ABV of 7,2% (not 6,5%).
As expected, this is a very dark brew, almost to the point of being black. Quite unexpected, there hardly is any head on it.
The smell on this is very weak and almost non-beer-like. It smells just the slightest bit roasted and hoppy, leaving just enough room for a sweetness that is akin to apple juice and a rye-like note.
The taste has some more character, but again seems sweet in an unnatural way (maybe this is caused by the maize that is in the brew?). Finish is dry and bitter and fairly hoppy at that, but still not convincing. The thin body and low carb. does not help either.
Not a good brew, to put it imaginatively: somewhere inbetween office machine coffee and flat cola.

Poured a very dark color with very little red light that came through and a dark brown two finger head.
Taste is very good with coffee notes hints of caramel and some spice. The finish leaves a nice burnt flavor on your tongue. I found it to be a hoppy beer. I hope I can keep this one in my regular rotation.

This beer pours a pitch black color with a small head which sticks to the glass.
Smell is burned with liquorice notes and some oliy notes, probably from the adjuncts used. There was also a sweet smell.
Taste is laurel and burned with liquorice notes and a slight maltbitter from the black malts. The oilyness is present in the mouthfeel, that is also sticky. This beer is not really as burned or dry as a stout should be, but it is defenitaly a good beer.
