This place was a great stop this summer
16 guest beers and 8 of their own including Pliny the Elder and some beer I have never heard of with 14% alcohol
For 20 dollars including tip on beverages, had a hard to find pint from Sierra Nevada Brewing, 8 three ounce tasters, my girlfriend's soda, and took home a 750ml of their Swami's India Pale Ale, that was a great deal in my book
Pizza was really good, got a medium pepporoni for only 12 bucks, a wheat pretzel for a dollar, and a pulled pork sandwich for a dollar on Monday night
Had a trappist beer on tap which is a rarity to see, Koenings for only 5 bucks ber 12 ounce pour
Their beer was good and the standout being Sharkbite Red while the worst was Amigo Lager
Super cool female bartender and generous workers
Fast service and cannot wait to get back to this place

This place is in my home town of San Clemente. Pretty decent beer joint food with a focus on pizza of course. Really good selection of beer and the guys who serve it know what they are talking about. Great atmosphere in downtown San Clemente just blocks away from the beach. I am trying not to be a homer since I live here but this is a great place to go for beer lovers.

I stopped in at PP San Clemente driving back up to LA to check out a different PP location. It's a pretty crowded spot inside with 2 floors that each have a bar. I headed upstairs since there was less of a line and I was only getting beer. They had approximately 15 of their own beers on tap with a few guest beers as well. All the beers I tried were served at a good temperature. Service was very good even though it got a bit busy going up to the bar again. Definitely a different vibe than the Carlsbad location, but I would definitely stop in again in the future.

Disinfectant smell overwhelmed us at the front door and gave me a headache. The air is not healthy for anyone especially the babies and young kids that were there. The wooden stairs have and seating, consisting of padded wobbly park benches are worn and shabby looking. Because of the lack of sound absorbing materials the place is cold and noisy. The walls are stark white and have dirty light switches.
Carpeting is dirty. Beverage machine served flat coke and clear soda Dr. Pepper. There are torn off labels on all napkin dispensers what hold very thin napkins. Paper plates are cheep so you need to at least double up to support pizza. Game area and toy machines to the ceiling are unsightly. Basically the whole place needs to be redecorated and cleaned up.
We enjoyed the pizza but we will never return there unless it gets under new management who changes the place for the better. This place is crying for a Restaurant Rescue! Restrooms: shabby, toxic smell of disinfectant permeates even a few feet before you enter.
Because of the condition of the place we just didn't feel comfortable.

It's hard to not like a place with so many interesting beers, pleasant staff, and a friendly atmosphere. About two dozen beers on tap, and as usual, always something new and strange. The Pizza Port beers are inexpensive and come in every flavor and style. They make a variety of Milds and lighter beers which are better than average. I have not really been disappointed by any of their beers, but they compete with so many intriguing brews from California and beyond, plus there are always a few Belgians and generally a German beer or two. They had DF Festina Peche, which I had not seen before on tap, and a roster of strong ales.
They have some quite interesting pizzas they name after their locations. I liked the Ocean Beach pizza, which is all kinds of unusual vegetables plus bacon. And I eat pizza about as often as I eat mince meat pie. Great crust, I think they have this down to a science.
I go to the Ocean Beach location a lot, and it's usually a pleasant experience. This one in San Clemente is a little funkier, but somehow more jolly. It's the only beer place I come to in this part of southern California. Service is cheerful and even the most unlikely-looking barmaid is knowledgeable about the beers. A great town and worth a stop if you're heading to or from San Diego.
