We came across this place as we were leaving NH after a long weekend. I decided to stop in to see what they had to offer. From the outside, the place looks kinda dumpy. The inside is very chaotic and unorganized. Beer is just stacked everywhere. Shelves share beer with tuna fish and dish soap. Also, I noticed a lot of dust on the bottles. Selection was OK. They had a lot of local stuff plus a good selection of foreign imports. I will give them credit for doing a mix-a-six. I grabbed 4 Woodstock Inn Brewery and 2 Tuckerman bottles, because I wanted to bring some NH beers back to MA with me. The price was $11.80. Kinda steep I thought. $2 for those beers? The problem was that nothing had any prices on it on shelves. The cold six packs were priced, but the shelved beer was a mystery. The $11.80 six pack was regardless of what you put in it. The cashier didn't check. If I knew that, I would have picked much nicer beers for my mix-a-six. So if you stop there, be sure to choose the most expensive singles available.

Visited this place last Thursday during our family vacation. It was my second beer store that i visited in the area.
Saw the sign so i turned to face a steep decline and then the store which was a nondescript building. I apprehensively entered and was fairly surprised.
The place has a thrift store feel to it with winding aisles and shelves of beers. Beers are the first thing you see and i'd say they make up a sizable portion of the store. A good number of beers are kept in coolers. Saw a lot of beers i didn't see at Discount which reassured me. Lots of English and Belgian beers. I was a bit disappointed that they only had one beer from Bar Harbor/Atlantic (Blueberry) and a select few from Geary's. Despite that, the best selection in the area for beers.
Prices were equal or slightly higher than Discount but i won't complain because they allow breaking up 6-packs! 9.99$/6-pack though there are some exclusions.
One thing i liked also is that the lights in the coolers were off, thus preventing the possibility of light-struck beers. The man at the cash (the owner maybe?) definitely knew his stuff, was very patient with me (i must have stayed there at least 45min.) and was even joking with me.
Next time i'm in the area, this will be my one and only stop for beer buying.

A gem if you are looking for NH/VT brews. Right on Rt.16 within a 1/4 mile of Storyland. 200 beers? I don't know. Didn't count them. But they do have quite a selection. A great place to mix and match singles. They have several styles from each brewery which is nice if you're looking to try new stuff. My object was to find Long Trail and I wasn't disappointed. Also a nice variety from Magic Hat, Red Hook, Smuttynose, Trout River and Harpoon. I found a single of Trout River Chocolate Oatmeal Stout and you've never seen a geek smile so much over one bottle. Guess I should mention they have a good selection of Maine brews as well but since I was coming from Maine I didn't pay much attention. If I would have had a bit more cash, I would have taken advantage of their nice Unibroue selection as well, including Unibroue 11 and Quelque Chose. Lots of Samuel Smith. German macros (Spaten, Paulaner) well represented as well.
Service was great. Gentleman behind the counter was friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Stock is well rotated. Stop by if you're looking for a nice stash of New England brews.

The Glen Beverage Co. is just down the street from Story Land and probably has the best selection of beer in the Conway area. Out front is a sign that mentions carrying over 200 beers and I believe them. Beers from NH (Tuckermans, Woodstock Inn, Shipyard) ME (Gritty's) VT (Long Trail, Magic Hat) are all represented. They also carry many imports, including a good selection from Unibroue, and mass produced beers. You can even make your own six pack from singles for a slightly higher price than a regular six.
There are a few varieties of wine and liquor on hand, but the stores main focus is on beer. The guys in the store are friendly and typically greet you as you enter.

A real standout in the area. Right at the intersection of Rt.16 (north) and 302. If you're coming from the North Conway area you will go by here on the way to Mount Washington (Pinkham Notch), so leave some space in your backpack.
200+ beers (including the macros), mixer sixers run $8.99 and include most of the stuff they have. A bit pricey for the area, but compared to the outlets and nicknack stores, this is a souvenir you'll want to shop for.
Wide selection of New England micros, particularly New Hamphire (obviously) and Vermont. Tuckerman's, Otter Creek, Shipyard (including Big Beer series), Woodstock, Long Trail, Trout River, Sea Dog etc..
A good selection of Rogue and Unibroue, Sierra Nevada, Anchor, assorted imports Sam Smith, Lindeman's and various German.
Some glassware as well.. no sense not using a nice glass just because you're camping.

Finally popped by this place on a business trip to the north country. The store is in a great location right near the intersection of Routes 16 and 302. Very dusty and disorganized inside, but the selection is great for the area. A decent display of random Belgians, and plenty of good American offerings. What I like about this place is the mix-a-six offering (currently $11.59). I was able to build a nice sixer with some DFH, Bigfoot, Tuckerman's, and Oskar Blues. You need to stroll around and look everywhere to ensure you don't miss any labels. This place could benefit from a re-org of the inventory, but it's not a huge shop, so it only takes a few minutes to see everything. Worth popping by if you're on vacation and want some good bottles to enjoy.

so, you're on vacation in northern NH. there are some choices for beer with dinner but you're facing heading back to the hotel and the prospects are dim to non-existent. So what do you do? Well, you either stop on the way by or pretend to take a wrong turn and while you're lost get a quick round of drinks for the family and of course great beer.
Yes, it's 200+ beers, yes the prices are reasonable, not vacation destination gouge you of your last dollar.
Yeah, it's a great place to stop buy and they offer enough other drink choices to make it work for the full family. I'll be dropping by again.

Highly unexpected find on our most recent vacation in Jackson. The place looks like a dump from the outside. Nothing at all to indicate that it contains lots of great beer except the sign out front saying "200 Brews". Even then, we drove by it several times saying snarky things about "200 Light Lagers, probably".
Boy, were we wrong. Half the place is filled with a great selection of micros and craft beers. Lots of well-known names (Stone, Rogue, etc.) and locals (Tuckerman, Smuttynose). Good selection of British ales and Belgians. A bit light on German beers, for some reason, and the owner (by his own admission) isn't big on sour styles (although they do carry lots of Lindemanns). Mix your own sixes for reasonable prices -- that's a big plus if you are on vacation and don't want a lot of something you aren't familiar with.
The owner was there the day I stopped in. Knows his stuff and has tried everything he carries. Can speak knowledgeably about the offerings and make suggestions. Friendly.
Certainly not the biggest selection I've ever seen in a beer store and not too much that you have never seen before. But excellent to have around if you are vacationing in the area and way, way more than you'd expect seeing it from the outside. Definitely worth a stop if you are nearby.

I used this place as my base-of-beer operations while visiting the area this summer on a family trip. Being one of the only local places with a wide selcetion of beer, it was very welcome.
A smallish shop that advertises over 200+ types of beer, it lived up to its signage. With many local selections from Smuttynose (NH), Trout River (VT), Woodstock Inn (VT), Long Trail (VT), etc. it was obvious that they supported local breweries, while providing a wide selection of other US craft brewers & some imports as well (Unibroue, Moretti were some I remember).
The prices were very reasonable for the area, especially the Smuttynose Big A IPA bombers for $3.95. Suffice it to say, I brought a few home with me!
The proprietor, Dale Richards, was very friendly & accomodating. No pressure to buy anything. He welcomes any BA's passing through the area to stop in & say hello.
Overall, this was a very positive establishment that catered to local, craft brews while providing a good selection from around the country & the world.

I had the pleasure of stopping in here last saturday. I was heading from Gorham to Plymouth for yet another youth game. Fortunately, the Plymouth double headah was cancelled on the way by this oasis. I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. I was pleased with the selection. I asked for a Vermonster and was told they could not get it.In NH everything has to be approved by the state. Rock Art will have to meet with the state. This store had the best selection North of the Notch's and better than most down state. Dude working behind the counter did not just work here he lived it.
