Having been in Lexington long enough to see the evolution of this establishment, I have to say it ranks a close second in where I would go for a beer in town. With well over 30 beers on tap and over a hundred in bottles, there is no shortage of choices. I've been able to find beers here that the other beer bar in town and the large liquor store do not carry. Not only do they have a great selection of beers, but their food is top shelf as far as pizza-fare goes in town.
This establishment is just at the north end of the University of Kentucky campus, giving it a clientele that tends to be mostly college students during the school year, but summers give a good mix. I've never had a bad experience with service or quality of food. If you are in town on a Wednesday, you can catch pint night, which is a good time. If you are stopping through Lexington and have time for dinner and a pint or two, this is a fantastic place to go.
Edit: I've now been going to Pazzo's each and every week for about 6 months now. I can't think of a better place to go and grab a beer or 5 in town. Tonight the owner Tom shared a 9 Litre bottle of St. Feuillien Triple around with the patrons of the pub. What else could one want from the owner of a great beer estalishment? Top shelf here.

ok i didnt expect to find much good beer in lexington, and pazzo's completely blew me away.
there's about 22 beers on tap. Most are just so-so, but there are some standouts like Franziskaner HefeWeizen, Unibroue Trois Pistoles and Rogue Mocha Porter.
The bottle selection is most impressive, with lots of Belgians and a number of English ales and American micros as well. Every beer is served in its appropriate glass.
The food was pretty good, and the waitress I had was attentive and working hard. i only wish they had a place like this in my college town. any pizza joint with orval, westmalle, rodenbach, ommegang, and unibroue (and many, many, many others) is an A+ in my book.
only problem is they serve all the beer--tap and bottle--WAY too cold. but have patience and warm it up and all will be fine.

A very nice pizza pub atmosphere makes this spot one of the must stops in this city. The location is right at UK, but this not a typical college bar. Good quality beers and great food await the visitor. The sports TVs are a welcome addition on a Saturday afternoon and the slow patronage gave me better than average service from the staff, mostly student workers from the nearby colleges. As they are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable it was a pleasure to be served by them.
The multi level seating is nice, the taps very numerous, and the sizable bottled selection menu is sorted by country. Very good choices all and I tried Kentucky Ale on special at $2 a pint - nice buy. The pizza is killer and the outside seating is limited but quite nice. Now if there were just more parking...

Boy, Pazzo's is awesome! I really love this place. It combines great beer (both on tap and in bottles) with some really awesome food. There are about 22 beers on tap, most of which are micros and imports. They also have many bottled beers, especially Belgians and some Unibroue, German selections, and micros, all served with their proper glassware. There is a lot more beer there than what is listed on their website. I'm still in awe. They also have a pint night every wednesday night. This is where you buy a pitcher of the special pint night beer and get two complimentary glasses from that brewery to take home. When I went for pint night, the beer was Harpoon IPA, very nice.
If the beer wasn't enough, the food is out of this world! Be sure to try the pretzels and pesto bread for appetizers. Both are fantastic. The pizza is also great, and I recommend the Funky Chicken and Pazzo's Special pizzas.
This place is all about good food, good beer, and good fun. You really can't get much better than this, at least in Kentucky. I'm going back next week, then the week after, the week after than, then after that...

Pazzo's is a great place to have some beer and some food. They are a Pizza Pub - more of a restaurant than a pub. They normally have 22 beers on tap with several that rotate in and out intermittently. Extremely great selection with great mixes of imports, popular domestics, and micros such as: Bells, Franziskaner, Blue Moon, Abita, Anchor, Guinness, Bass, Harp, Moretti, HoeGaarden, Newcastle, and Spaten - just to name a few of the regulars. The prices are pretty much on par with the more peculiar and hard to get beers maxing out at $10.50 per pitcher and the norms at around $5 per pitcher.
Another great thing is that every Wednesday evening is Pint Night. They bring in some different beer (usually odd import) and put it on tap for the evening. You buy a pitcher and you recieve two pint glasses from that company to keep.
The food is great as well. The pizzas are hand tossed and made as you order and the pretzels are as well. Great hot subs and pesto bread as well - actually all the food is great.
If you're in or around the Lexington area, this is the best beer selection on tap you're going to find and one of the most enjoyable atmospheres for drinking in.
