Consumed July 28th, 2012 at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.

Clear, very dark brown beer with lighter brown highlights. A creamy one finger head reduces to a thin layer of sheeting fairly quickly.

Subtle, dark roasted smell with hints of plum.

Flavor is like dark pumpernickel bread with grape and date fruitiness. Woody, earthy. Low bitterness.

Slightly creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation.

I'm liking this one!

A note: comparing the tasting notes on this beer to the other dunkels Pizza Port makes, I am pretty certain this isn't one of those.
