On nitro tap for Churchill's Renaissance 2013 at Churchill's Pub & Grille in San Marcos, CA.

Billed at 3.2% ABV and made with Portola coffee.

Pours a clear copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thick rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, and coffee beans. Taste is much the same with a brewed coffee flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is mild and easy to drink.

Made with Bird Rock coffee. On nitro ( :/ ) at Pizza Port Solana Beach. This is the Dawn Patrol brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach and not the Dawn Patrol brewed at Port Brewing (Red Poppy base).

A: Dark brown with a creamy beige cap.

S: Roasted grains, coffee, nutty earth, and a little chocolate. The coffee smells quite nice but it's pretty mellow.

T: Nutty chocolate with a smooth and mellow earthy coffee profile that does the base beer credit. Light biscuit and toffee notes.

M: Creamy velvet mouthfeel with a medium body.

Overall: It's like a light iced coffee beverage. The flavor suffered a little from nitro (Why put this on nitro?) but still nice and I could drink a lot of this. I'd love to try a cask of this or on tap.
