On Tap
Pizza Port
Solana Beach, CA
Clear golden and orange with a small off-white head that leaves irregular lines down the glass.
Floral and biscuity aroma with a mild pine presence.
Biscuit flavors dominate, along with mild floral and citrus notes. Moderate bitterness.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
A decent, bready pale ale, though I was hoping for more from Pizza Port.

On tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Tulip.
A: Golden orange with a finger of white froth that quickly recedes.
S: Lightly floral with bright notes of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. I get a bit of resinous pine as well. Malt is faint and reminiscent of biscuit.
T: Moderately bitter, with an even blend of orange flesh and pith. There's some tangerine as well. Malt is biscuity and light in the flavor. No alcohol is evident. Finishes clean, with an upper moderate bitterness and lingering orange.
M: Lower medium body with upper moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is dry and sticky.
Overall: A good West Coast Pale Ale. Light in body with nice hop flavor and a firm bitterness.
