On-tap at FFF XV and poured into tasting glass.
A - Pours a really cool pinkish/red color, white frothy head, spotty lace, thin collar, wisps on top.
S - Grapefruit, citrus hoppy notes, slight biscuit. Pretty straight forward citrus hoppy notes, although I'm not complaining.
T - A little more complex. A nice level of hops, big on the citrus, nice malt profile, some grapefruit and sweetness on the finish.
M - Lighter side of medium, good carbonation, oily hop finish.
O - A solid IPA that's pretty cool-looking. Pizza Port always has the good stuff, this one is no different. Would def have again.
Shaker pint glass with a clear pink brew inside. Very cool and unique obviously. A bit of white head. The aromas were fresh and citrusy of lemon , lime, and grapefruit. Medium bodied. clean and lean flavors with tasty hop flavors and bitter pungency. The finish was on the drier side. Liked it alot !

Beer for Boobies YEAAAAHHH!!!!
A: Pours a Red Dye Number 5. It’s a fuzzy pink IPA. Clear and effervescent. Whimsical like a raspberry soda pop. Soft pastel pink rim of head and just drapery of lacing here.
S: Smells like another gapefruit bomb! Just danky and herbal with a citrus twist. Orange and some pine. Very subtle pale malt.
T: Tastes super juicy with hops and quite hempy. Lots of herbals going on here. Slightly sweet with malt nonexistent. Pine and citrus. No ABV present. Almost wet hop like. Slight sugary trail of breadcrumbs but this one is just super hoppy.
M: Very light in body. Creamy with a sticky sleek mouthcoat and nice dry crispy finish.
D: Quite sessionable. A light refreshing IPA that is all about my two favorite things. Hops and Boobies.
I drink for the cure!

Chilled growler into a glass. From the ever-awesome Sideswipe. Thanks, John.
A: Pours a brilliantly clear ruby red with a frothy, slightly pink head that retains well and leaves good lace.
S: Mildly weed-like, but this is dominated by citrus (think tangerine, grapefruit, orange zest). A very light pale malt sweetness.
T: Citrus hop juice with a touch of weed and pine needles. But it's firmed up on the back end by a solid backbone of pale malt, which imparts some sweetness without overwhelming the hop profile. It's certainly the power of suggestion, but I feel like I can taste raspberry skins or something similarly tannic on the back end.
M: Medium-bodied. The beer finishes dry. It has ample carbonation to clean up the [mild] residual bitterness. No trace of the booze.
O: I'm reluctant to review beers I like, as it brings my average up. But due to requests from my trading partners, I will start to be a little more even-handed in the reviews I upload. This is one example of a great beer.

At Pizza Port Carlsbad
The beer pours an orange, pink color with a pink frothy head. The foam dissipates leaving a thin white coaster and excellent lacing. The aroma is signature Pizza Port IPA. Hemp and citrus forward with a biscuity malt backbone. Taste is bitter hops. Hemp, orange, and grapefruit are showcased. The finish is dry and bitter. The beer is medium bodied with an appropriate level of carbonation making it very drinkable. Another excellent IPA from Pizza Port. I love this place!

On-tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad
A: This definitely is pink...a clear dark pink color with a finger of head that is lightly pink as well.
S: A nice big citrus nose on this one. Lots of grapefruit, tangerine, and orange zest. Plenty of pine and a mild tropical fruit aroma to it as well. I don't really get much, if any, malt aroma to this.
T: The full citrus character carries to the palate. A nice grapefruit bite to the beer as well as plenty of orange. Pine hops provide bitterness and there is a really resinous quality to it. Just a touch of bread/malt flavor.
M: The body is medium with a moderate to high level of carbonation.
D: I was really impressed by this. A much better fit for Pizza Port than the "Brewbies Pink Ale" they did previously.

Pizza Port
Carlsbad, CA
A shockingly electric pink pour with a big foaming light pink head that settles to about a half inch in height. As it was Pizza Port's intention to create a pink IPA in support of breast cancer awareness and research, they certainly succeeded with flying colors. I was floored at how perfectly pink this beer turned out. Bravo!
Typical hoppy Pizza Port nose. A lot of pungent grapefruit and orange with little malt character.
This is a simple and hop-forward IPA. Bitter hops, citrus fruit, and a touch of sweet mango towards the end.
A rich and sticky mouthfeel. Alcohol seems almost nonexistent which is shocking as this beer is over 8% in ABV.
A simple, hop-forward DIPA from just down the road. Knowing proceeds from this beer are going toward breast cancer research, it is my pleasure to drink this until it runs dry.
Cheers!

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Snifter.
A: Reddish pink with a big frothy pink head, great retention, and nice lacing. Pretty cool looking beer.
S: Signature Pizza Port Carlsbad aroma. Heavily resinous with grapefruit flesh and rind with some orange. Malt is faint and crackery. No evident alcohol.
T: Upper moderate bitterness and very dry, with prominent grapefruit, orange, and a touch of peach. Lots of pine resin. Sweetness is ephemeral midpalate, extant for only a split second. Malt is almost nonexistent. Alcohol is well hidden.
M: Upper light body with upper moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is crisp, sticky, and dry, with a slight astringency.
Overall: Another nice Double IPA from Port Carlsbad. I would like to drink glass after glass of this.
*edit* This really grew on me. Delicious stuff.
