Had on draft from Pizza Port Ocean Beach.

Beer pours a clear yellow with a thin, frothy head. Aroma is faint but consists of light grain husk and corn. Corn and grain on the palate with a touch of hops and maybe a bit of lemon. Faint like dried lemon peel. Body is creamy and light. Overall I like this style of beer because it is a tough one to make well, and when it's done well it is fantastic. This example was solid but not the best offering I had that night.

Crystal clear golden color in the half-litre nonic. Moderate foam. Aroma that can only be described as "beery."

Just a hint of halt that tastes like "Hawaiian" bread, slightly sweet and yeasty. Minimal hoppiness. Club soda in the aftertaste along with just a flicker of bitterness. Graham crackers.

A pleasant light lager sort of beer, but less interesting than many. Quite gulpable but totally forgettable. On tap at Tiger! Tiger! in San Diego.

On tap at PP OB. Snifter.

A: Transparent pale yellow with a frothy white head.

S: Grains and biscuity malt with light orchard fruits. Apple blends with pear and a dash of sulfur.

T: Biscuit and toasted malt notes. Smooth and light with faint apple character. Low bitterness and a well attenuated finish.

M: Light and crisp with upper medium carbonation.

Overall: A good Cream Ale. Not an exciting style, but a tasty example nonetheless.

On-tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach

A: The pour is a clear, pale yellow color with a fluffy white head accompanying it.

S: Not surprisingly this smells like corn, quite a bit of corn, actually. There's a slight grain and bread sweetness along with a touch of grassy hops. But the nose is really light overall.

T: Sweet and full of corn with a decent graininess to it. There's a lot of grassy hop flavor to it. As the beer warms up, it sort of has a little lactose type flavor to it.

M: The body is quite light, maybe approaching medium, with a moderate to high carbonation.

D: It's pretty light and easy to drink for the person that doesn't feel like slamming one of the DIPAs, but there are better light options.
