On tap at Pizza Port in Carlsbad, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and some floral aromas. Taste is much the same with a distinct tea-like flavor on the finish. There is a very mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some interesting aromas and flavors.

On Nitro at Pizza Port Carlsbad
05-10-12
A: Appearance is clouded with an awesome display of cascading bubbles that finally settle to a creamy white top. Reveals a hazy light golden amber ale a bit on the duller side. Massive sheets of lace down the glass.
S: Smells citrusy with some nice ripe apricot aromas and a bit of estery yeast notes.
T: Citrus comes across much softer in flavor. I get more peach and apricot with a bit of that classic bready English pale malt presence. Freshly baked. Overall bitterness seems on the lower side. Slight sweetness with a real estery tart note in the end. Reminds me a bit of white grape and/or apple juice. Light and refreshing.
M: Super creamy mouthfeel on account of the Nitro. Lighter body. Finish comes across rather wet though.
D: This was a nice drink and a bit of a cross with the English malt and American hop combo.
I much prefer the hop monsters Port puts out however.

Beautiful to see this poured in a pint glass, like a nuclear blast of foam, subsiding into a perfect amber body with creamy lacing.
The classic biscuit flavor. Very nice scent of flowery hops, maybe a touch of chamomile. This stuff really lends itself to the nitro treatment, I think. The aroma and floral hops emerge nicely from the foamy body. Seems to give a welcome body to this low-alcohol brew. Just enough malt, and not overly bitter. Really a decent treatment of the English style.
Listed at 4.2%. On nitro tap at Pizza Port in Ocean Beach.

Nitro at Pizza Port Ocean Beach.
A: Transparent bright gold with a big pile of white foam. Thick sheets of lacing cling to the glass.
S: Biscuit and light bread with expressive citrus flesh aromatics: orange, apricot, tangerine, and grapefruit. Very nice.
T: Soft orange and tangerine flesh notes balanced by a pleasant biscuit profile and a touch of sweet grain.
M: Upper light body with a great soft silly nitro mouthfeel.
Overall: Sort of an American-English hybrid of a Pale Ale.

On nitro at Toronado SD
I don't know how this can be seriously classified as an English Pale Ale, but that's what PP has to say about it...
A: The pour is a pale golden straw color with some light haze with the usual fluffy nitro-tap head on it.
S: The nose is...popcorn? Not the buttered variety that you often get with a crappy beer from the middle of nowhere, but popcorn. Not really much else there, to be honest.
T: A bit of water and some more popcorn. The hops aren't really anywhere to be found, maybe they peak out with a touch of lemon or earthiness.
M: The body is insanely light and the carbonation is that sort of creamy/watery carbonation that only the nitrogen can provide.
D: This was a really strange and just not good beer. I don't know who decided to make this or sell it the way it is.
