22oz bottled March 16?, 2011. Pours hazy, cloudy orange/amber with a huge three-finger plus off white head that holds a persistent pillowy cap and leaves globs of sticky lacing. Beautiful.

Aroma is OMG! Gobs of ripe pink grapefruit, tons of pineapple, lemon and orange, lots of citrus, some dankness and cat spray scream Simcoe which I love. Incredible strength. Fantastic.

Flavor is almost like eating a fresh pink grapefruit, delicious, tons of citrus and I mean tons, pineapple, orange, lemon, tropical fruits, also a lot of dank resinous hops, even some pine, runs the gamut on hop flavors, minimal caramel/bready malt balance, the hops really shine here. Also intense bitterness & well masked alcohol. My kind of DIPA, low malt, low ABV (for the style), all hops. ::nomnomnom:: Absolutely fantastic.

Mouthfeel is medium, a touch sticky, medium to high carbonation.

I've been anticipating this beer for a while now and it was worth every second of the wait. I think I may have just found my new favorite DIPA as it fits my tastes PERFECTLY. I don't normally buy many bombers but will make an exception for Mr. Mongo here. Oh, and I'm a cat person too, so extra bonus points there. :)

What can I say more than: I simply love this beer.

The appearance is a golden orange hue, with a slight haze from the hop and yeast sediment left in the bottle-conditioned beer (detractors call these "floaties"). I will take half a point off, because I do not drink the last 1/4" inch of the yeasty brew.

Smells like citrus, hops, and floral yeast notes. Delicious.

Tastes like mango, orange, with a distinctly hop-forward finished. Not overly bitter, dry and not sweet.

Mouthfeel is INCREDIBLE! Love the bottle-conditioned carbonation levels - nice chewy beer. Mouthfeel may be the number one reason that I love this beer.

Overall, I will always seek out and drink MONGO!
