On tap at Fat Heads IPA festival!
This was, unfortunately, my least favorite Port beer at this great tasting. But that's not to say it was bad. It just wasn't anything to write home about. But you, dear reader, are not my home. So I write this synopsis for your perusal and enjoyment!
The beer is average looking with a gold body and a white head. There is some lace, but it lacks the coating of some of the other Port offerings. Clear as can be, I could bring this to the eye doctor as my goggle of choice and still come away with 10/15 vision.
The smells are primarily straight-ahead hoppiness, nothing that you haven't encountered a few times when you're a raging hop head like me. Some pine and grapefruit, probably due to the incorporation of some C-hops in the recipe. No real malt except for a sweet kiss of caramel.
The taste fairs slightly better than all the other elements that make up Jetty. Some juicy oranges and grapefruit are served over a bed of pine needles with an abrupt, bitter and dry finish that barely showcases any malt at all. Just a crisp drop-off into the flavor abyss.
The mouthfeel is on the lighter-side of medium bodied, with ample carbonation providing a bit of punch. Some medium to high lingering bitterness and a bone-dry, West Coast finish. Drinkability suffered not only from the lack of any clear personality, but also from the much more attractive offerings from Port that flanked this at the tasting. While a jetty is typically used to mitigate unexpected shifts in tide or sand build-up, this beer stayed too long in the safe harbor for me.

Pours a crystal clear golden color with white head continuously being fed by the carbonation bubbles migrating from the bottom. Mild grapefruit bouquet. Very soft, cottony mouthfeel. Competing pine and grapefruit flavors. Finishes with a lingering grapefruit citric bitterness. But the finish is clean. Solid IPA.

This beer is horrid. Served on draft at Churchkey. Beer is yellow and clear with a white head of small bubbles, some lacing, moderate retnetion.
Aroma is hoppy, citrus and pine with malt.
Beer is buttery, creamy and gross. Not a good beer, not at all. Truly horrid. Gross, not a repeat. I sent back 2 ounces of my 4 ounce pour. Never again.

Poured on tap at Churckey DC into a snifter glass.
A very clear yellow eighteen carat gold body of lemon, with good rising carbonation, and real nice lacing as well. Head is an off white and settles nicely to a solid collar.
Nose brings a lot of mushy fruit hop angle. Grapefruit rich, nearly rotten and decaying, and a good interesting blast of salt and brine to this also. Pickled. Very interesting.
Mushy fruit hits the palate hinted on the nose of grapefruit. Finish is very resiny and coating, with a large pine and saltiness character mixing with a nice sweetness almost charring and dry.
Overall this is quite a fascinating IPA and taste profile have never had one like this. It's probably not what I gravitate too, but I would like to have this once in awhile it feels very special.

On tap for the first anniversary party at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.
Pours a clear honey color with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Small carbonation bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass on the entire drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, honey, and malt. Taste is much the same with a nice honey aftertaste. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a great aroma and solid taste that makes for an easy drinking beer.

On-tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach. Poured into a pint glass.
A- Pours a clear golden color topped with a finger of white head, leaves some good lacing.
S- Very dank, citrusy hops. Lots of tropical citrus, pine and weed smell.
T- Big wall of hops again, picking up notes of grapefruit and pine resin, also a dank weed flavor. A bit of caramelly sweetness.
M- Medium-bodied, smooth feel with a slightly dry finish.
O- A damn good IPA, very drinkable, hop flavor is very nice.
