On tap at the Barrel Aged Beer Fest at the Bistro. They also had a beer called Yellow Bus, I'm not sure if they are one in the same or different, the yellow bus had more of a fruit/peach thing going on, but both seem to be a percursor to the excellent cable car released months later at the Toronado 20th party.

Anyways, this one is a lemony yellow orange with a tiny ring of dishwash soap bubbles. Aromas are all funky brett, barnyard, a tinge of wood, sour musty fruits, astringent vinegar, although not much lactic or acrid notes in this one. Taste is complex and transcendent, shoe leather, cobwebs, that musty taste in the air when you swallow at the Cantillon brewery in Ixelles. Mouthfeel is light, effervescent, smooth, great. Drinkability? I can drink beers like this one all freaking day

Had a pint on tap at the brewery.

A: Poured a cloudy golden yellow, like a wit but deeper in color. The small head vanished quickly, but left a lot of lacing on the glass.

S: So complex I couldn't hardly pick out the individual scents. Lots of citrus and of course funk on the nose. Mostly sour smell, but not harsh at all.

T: Tasted as the nose suggested, with a very sour, funky kick. Like drinking the worlds best lemonade. I actually liked the lingering sweetness. If it was all sour, I don't think it would have kept me wanting more.

MF: Light in the mouth for such a flavorful beer. Well carbonated, again reminding me of a Wit.

D: Perhaps one of the most drinkable beers I have ever had. I would have figured out how to carry a whole keg of it home on my motorcycle if they'd have let me.

Overall, a very unique beer and well deserving of the praise!

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, in Seal Beach, CA,

A: Pours a golden orange, into a pilsner/lambic glass, with a thick, white head, nice lacing.

S: Smells like a gueuze, tart apple, fruit, and funk.

T: Beautiful taste of tart apples, oranges, and funk. The sour character is really good in this one, very complex. It's hard to describe, apple cider, mixed with horse blankets and mustiness, all I know is that it's really, really tasty. No wonder it was the prize winner at the Beachwood BBQ grand-reopening, every 1 out of 2 beers or so was this.

M: Tart, acidic, sour, smooth mouthfeel, medium-bodied, nice feel of an American sour.

D: A great American Wild Ale by Port, this was definitely the hit of the party. On par with the better Belgian lambics like Cantillon, a fantastic beer, could definitely stick with this for the night.

Pint from the Port/Lost Abbey brewery in San Marcos off the 78 freeway

Lucky enough to try this one in the tasting room, was only supposed to be for Patron Saints and a few special events, but I got a 16 ounce pour for four bucks

Color was a golden yellow, there was barely even head which was surprising due to the fact that it had so much carbonation, left a large amount of lacing and was something special to look at

Smell was crazy, ten different things going on, smelled very sour and tarty, hints of vinegar and brett, could defintely smell some hints of oak which was the kind of barrels it was aged in, and was rounded out by citrus and a hint of vanilla

Taste was great, extremely sour with a dominant orange peel granny smith apple aftertaste, could also taste accents of pineapple, lots of spice going on that is almost reminiscent of a saison but it is not at the same time because it is so sour, very acidic, hints of butterscotch, first tastes like a strong sparkling wine but fades into an almost lambic-like finish with more sweetness than tart, one of a kind in my opinion, would have liked to go what different beers and ingredients went into this one, would drink lots more in the future if given the chance

Wish this one would have been a little more dry, its only real downfall, left sweet long lasting aftertaste which was still good and very smooth

Could drink a whole lot of this, at least three more pints, went down very easily and light on the stomach, next to Supplication, the best sour beer I have ever had

Try this as soon as possible if you ever get the chance to visit the brewery, wish I could have taken a growler of this monster home with me, amazingly good sour beer from one of my favorite brewers, please bottle this too, I cannot say enough good things about this, the beer is truly "funky"
