Thanks goes out to a wolf...THE wolf...TheWolfofMibu for the chance to try this brew that I should get in Oregon but those bastards at Port decided to ship to WA and AK instead...
Appearance- Note***This beer traveled from San Diego to Corvallis, Oregon and didn't have much time to rest. This MAY have affected the head and retention, but because the flavor and smell are so damn money, I'll assume this beer neglected it's crown. The beer pours less than a finger of head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lace to speak of. The beer filling my New Belgian goblet is copper and gold with honey highlights. The beer itself is pretty, but the head, head retention, and lacing are borderline pathetic. But, as we all know, looks can be deceiving.
Smell- Fuck yes! This is exactly what I want my DIPA to smell like. Sugar covered citrus fruits flow into my nostrils and give me a chubby. The most prevalent aromas are mandarin orange and pineapple. Those are two of my favorite fruits, so I am smitten from the jump. As it warms, I start to get more floral hop notes, which ain't too shabby either. There is a bit of heat in the nose, but not enough to distract from the sexy, fruity flavors. This beer smells like a Two-Hearted Ale on steroids. Fantastic! Wait, before I go, I'm getting more leafy and piny notes as it gets much warmer. The smell has changed quite a bit, but it's still amazing. If I had an aroma fetish I'd be cumming right now.
Taste- It has everything from the nose, but in a different order and potency. There is much more pine and spicy leafiness in the taste than the nose. Following the woodsy flavors comes sugary grapefruit, a bit of pineapple, and some citrus rind, more grapefruit than lemon. I don't know what I did to her but this bitch is bitter. There is some earthy maltiness, but mostly, it's a battle between bitter grapefruit and pineapple with grapefruit kicking ass and a bit of alcohol coming in at the end throwing cheap shots. Some lemon rind and malt sweetness lingers on the finish along with some heat. A 10%abv DIPA, HOP 15 tastes almost exactly like you'd want it to taste.
Mouthfeel- This beer has a nice medium body that allows the flavors to coat the tongue without being too thick. The carbonation is medium/low. The only hitch in the feel's wagon is the heat and hops clinging to the tongue a bit. My tongue definitely knows I was drinking a high abv DIPA.
Drinkability- This bomber is no problem at all. It is tasty as hell, with strong enough citrus flavors to fight through the bitterness. Could I drink a few bombers of this? Probably, but my tongue would be raped and the delicious, juicy fruitiness would be lost on me. This is a DIPA that I would be proud to have in my PNW beer stores, but unfortunately, Port thinks it better to skip over my little state and go to other near by beer states. I'd buy this on a very consistent basis if given the chance, and I'm sure I'm not the only Oregon beer drinker who feels that way. Come back...please?

22oz bomber poured into an Ommegang Game Of Thrones chalice.
AP: dark gold colour with a 1" thick sea foam fluffy white head that only dissipated down to 1/2". There's sediment floating which I wasn't expecting. Check the bottle for any dates and it says it was bottled on 3-6-13. Unfiltered Wheat beers, yes, I expect sediment. Imperial IPAs, not so much. Curious.
AR: No funkiness on the smell. I get hay/grass, tropical hop fruits of orange and pineapple with grapefruit and pine underneath.
T: Follows the nose with the addition of a bit of biscuit/cracker and caramel, emphasis on 'a bit'. As with the nose the tropical hops come into play first with the usual West Coast grapefruit and pine following them up.
M: Very juicy and moist and it lingers on the palate. I get a bit of dryness for an instant, but the juicy wet and slightly sticky fruity hops are coating my mouth. Very nice. Not that acidic or bitter with most of the crispness coming from the carbonation.
OV: The flavours are tasty and the juicy lush mouthfeel was very welcomed. I am wishing this had a strong malt base to it, though, and I am still curious why there's so much sediment in it. I see another reviewer below also commented on this.

a hazy brew that starts hazy way too fast. retention and lacing are awesome. super hoppy. aroma is mostly piney and a bit of citrus. inviting. body is a bit bitter but balanced by the sweet malt flavor. hoppy. finish has a bit of alcohol in it. mellow carb on a full body. this tastes slightly oxidized to me which sucks considering that this is 2 months old and is conditioned. drink fresh or pass.
22oz bottle into nonic pint. bottled march something 2013.

Pours gold/orange with a massive white chunky head. Super carbonated as even a gentle pour resulted in 2/3 glass of foam. Solid lacing down the glass.
Lots of citrus on the nose. Almost candy like with a good dose of malt as well.
Lots of good citrus hoppiness up front. Malts come out in a big way eventually overpowering the hops. Sticky and resiny. Finishes very piney and malty with extreme booziness.
Thick creamy mouthfeel. Booze is way too prevelent and detracts from the flavor profile.
Was not a fan of this one at all. Always wary of higher ABV pales and this one was too extreme. Astrigent solvent like finish sapped anything good that came from the initial citrus burst. Will gladly seek out Mongo or Wipeout over this any day.
