22oz. bomber served into an Unibroue tulip

Pours a vibrant, glowing orange color. This being my first beer from Port, I kept in mind the concerns that I've read about carbonation. Thankfully, this bottle of Hop-15 suffers from no such problems. The head was a little over 2 fingers of off-white head; much closer to cream in color than I'm used to seeing in an IIPA. Lacing is pretty spidery.

Hops scream out of the glass. Loads of pine and deep kumquat blast out. There is plenty of spicy hops, too. Maybe a touch of alcohol. This is very strong; some would say too strong. This might be more complex than I think it is. I can't tell because of its intensity.

This is super strong on the tongue, too. Grapefruit and apricot and kumquat fruit flavors bring the sweetness along with the caramel malt. A second wave of hops brings astringency and peppery qualities. The alcohol is noticeable, providing heat and antecedent sweetness. This is powerful enough that I wish I were sharing it with someone, and I love hops. This actually reminds me of Founders Devil Dancer. It is just so brazen and huge.

This is on the heavier side of medium-bodied in mouthfeel. It isn't a syrupy East Coast IIPA but it is much thicker than I prefer the style to be. Drinkability is hard to rate. This is yummy. It is also massive. I'm going to give it a 4.0 with the understanding that it is trying to be the huge beer that it is.

I didn't love Hop-15 like I hoped that I would. But this is certainly a very nice beer and I can see it being ranked among some BAer's favorites. This is definitely worth a try if you live within Port's distribution.

A: Burned orange color, a little hazy.
S: Sweet, Toffee, Citrus, some tropical fruit and pine resin.
T: Big topical fruit and pine. When I was drinking it, I was just thinking how juicy this is. Pretty big malt backbone on this.
M: Thick, coats the mouth, slightly syrupy.
O: This was a really decent DIPA. Reminded me of 90 Minute, but slightly better tasting. The hops made my tongue tickle.

22oz bomber poured into an Ommegang Game Of Thrones chalice.

AP: dark gold colour with a 1" thick sea foam fluffy white head that only dissipated down to 1/2". There's sediment floating which I wasn't expecting. Check the bottle for any dates and it says it was bottled on 3-6-13. Unfiltered Wheat beers, yes, I expect sediment. Imperial IPAs, not so much. Curious.
AR: No funkiness on the smell. I get hay/grass, tropical hop fruits of orange and pineapple with grapefruit and pine underneath.
T: Follows the nose with the addition of a bit of biscuit/cracker and caramel, emphasis on 'a bit'. As with the nose the tropical hops come into play first with the usual West Coast grapefruit and pine following them up.
M: Very juicy and moist and it lingers on the palate. I get a bit of dryness for an instant, but the juicy wet and slightly sticky fruity hops are coating my mouth. Very nice. Not that acidic or bitter with most of the crispness coming from the carbonation.
OV: The flavours are tasty and the juicy lush mouthfeel was very welcomed. I am wishing this had a strong malt base to it, though, and I am still curious why there's so much sediment in it. I see another reviewer below also commented on this.

a hazy brew that starts hazy way too fast. retention and lacing are awesome. super hoppy. aroma is mostly piney and a bit of citrus. inviting. body is a bit bitter but balanced by the sweet malt flavor. hoppy. finish has a bit of alcohol in it. mellow carb on a full body. this tastes slightly oxidized to me which sucks considering that this is 2 months old and is conditioned. drink fresh or pass.

22oz bottle into nonic pint. bottled march something 2013.
