Poures out crystal clear, as in, looks like a bud light. Yet there is a sudzy head forming around 3 inches. Taking its time to recede, leaving a solid cap and very generous coats of thick whipped topping sponge pattern head.
Aroma delivers a large amount of grains. burnt caramel, pine and citrus hops with mild buttered rolls and cracked peppercorn.
Taste is fairly sweet with malt and grain flavors. Hops trickle in in the form of mild pine and medium citrus rind flavors.
Finishing dry with a crisp feel.
Overall a decent entry for the style, not somthing to seek out, but it does stand out over many other medium entry ipa's

poured from the bottle into a pint glass
A - Pour a hazy light copper with a fair amount of individual bubbles isotropically distributed, rising to a creamy, tan, two-finger head. Head stays intact till the end and paints an impressive portrait of concentric rings and sticky blobs of lace down almost the entire glass.
S - A fair amount of cascade hops on a caramel malt and biscuit background. Fades quite a bit in the glass.
T - Smooth carmel malt upfront. The body is a solid blend of pine and grapefruit notes from the Cascade hops on a chewy caramel malt and biscuit background. More aggressive grapefruit and pine as the beer passes over the back of the tongue leads to a lingering caramel, biscuit and grapefruit finish.
M - Medium bodied and moderately carbonated with a slight creaminess and enough chewiness to make it interesting. Well crafted mouthfeel.
Even though this beer is about 2 years old, it still is a tasty concoction that seems to get even better with every sip. Simple, straight ahead PNW IPA with pine and grapefruit notes melded nearly seamlessly with biscuit and carmel notes courtesy of the caramel malt, make for a classic brew indeed. The chewy, yet slightly creamy mouthfeel hits the spot as well. A benchmark northwest IPA from one of the PNW's classic microbreweries - the fact that a fresh six of this can be had in Oregon for less than $6, only makes it sweeter.
