Pours a pale straw with good amount of white head and good retention. Sour nose with wheat malt and hint of apple. Taste follows with sourness and apple flavor, apple is less appealing than in the nose. Mouthfeel is light and smooth, sour is welcome on this hot summer night. Overall a good attempt at a Berliner Weiss.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy beige head that settles to sparse wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, and grain aromas. Taste is much the same with wheat and sour lemon-like flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but the smell is lacking any indication of sourness and what sourness is coming across in the flavor is fairly subdued.

A - pours a crystal clear golden light orange/copper color, like a filtered apple juice, with a very brief pencil-thin white head that dissipates almost immediately, probably owing to the protein-degrading lactobacillus

S - a white grape/green apple acidity greets the nose at first sniff, with a mix of fresh hay grassiness and a sourdough breadiness - all fragrances you would expect and all welcome

T - kind of a restrained liquid sourdough bread taste with some slight green apple notes notes that remind me of drinking a fruit-flavored soda

M - very high carbonation gives the proper full mouthfeel to accompany the slight tartness; there's more of a lingering, persistent afterthought of a tart flavor rather than a smack you across the face tartness

D - like any good berliner weisse, this is a drinkable beer that one doesn't think before reaching for another sip - it's reflexively drinkable, though I would be more interested in a beer that was less objectionable: more tart and perhaps more funky with a little brett character, yet this is a berliner weisse for the masses and one can't fault a beer with that label

Pale ale appearance with khaki colored head.

Moldy lemons aroma, in a good way.

Tart moldy lemon and apple flavor. Mild on the cereal and strong on the tart compared to other Berliner Weisses.

Enjoyable dryness with mild astringency. Not particularly heavy or light in the mouth, on par for style.

Easy to enjoy, drink, and buy sour. At $5 price point it was a regular session sour. Favorite example of Berliner Weiss, albeit on the tart side for style. Wish Full Sail still made this.

Sample I got fizzed like the dickens, but not for too long once I got some into a mug. Aroma has a strong fruity, yeasty overtone with a tart apple note and a woody hint of hops. It pours a slightly hazy solar yellow with a thick, if not too persistent, fluffy white head. Flavor is quite tart, mainly fruity with a hint of malt - drinks more like a cider than a beer, still crisp and refreshing. Texture has average body and fizz. OK, not Full Sail’s best, but a decent effort.

Poured from a bomber into a half-pint chalice.

A: Slightly hazy, medium golden color with one finger of diminishing white foam head. No lacing remains on the glass.

S: Aggressively acidic and bready at first, but clean. Grain becomes husky over time but fruit qualities are notably absent.

T: Begins dry, with early tartness followed by wheat and sparse medicinal hops. Acidity drops off before the middle, exposing some rather plain, doughy base malt. The finish possesses a fine but distinct bitter thread with qualities of stale hops and some berry.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, wet and a little grainy at times, with brisk carbonation.

D/O: Easy to drink, this beer tastes like a slightly malty soft drink rather than a real sour ale. It is saved by its smell, which seems respectable from top to bottom.

Appearance is golden light supporting a thin crisp head that dissipates quickly leaving no lace. Smell is light on the nose with malt, wheat and lemon citrus. Taste has the malt, wheat and a sour lemon that chases to the end. Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. certainly wakes the mouth up with that punch of tart.

22oz. Bomber
Enjoy By: 9.17.12

Pours a nice clean/clear golden light yellow color, nice carbonation, with a nice one-finger foamy white head, not much sticky lacing left behind at all. The nose is mostly malty, slight hop note, citrusy. The taste is pretty tart, malty, with a slight hoppiness. Medium body. Overall, considering it is over 2 months old (Thanks Fucking SLS) I believe it is not fair to really judge this one, but I would not buy it again, and I have to get in the fucking business to start checking out fuckn' labels in the State Liquor Stores, their such FUCKING ASSHOLES!

This is going to be difficult to review because I am not very familiar with the Weissbier style.

Obviously, this is sour, which may be the goal.

Feel is crispy with a slight zing at the back of the throat.

Head is minimal but apparently not expected of the style.

Flavors are definitely lemony. I wonder how this pares with the syrups as described in the treatment of Weissbiers in Berlin.

I like the smell. Seems clean, lemony.

Even though it's supposed to be sour, I can't say the taste of this beer by itself is something I shoot for in a beer.

Perhaps this is a true connoisseur's beer. I won't know till later. ;)

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a footed highball glass.

Appearance: It poured with good head, nice white, fluffy, stuck around long enough to enjoy. Not much lacing. Nice golden yellow color, not much opacity, it looks like a light weissbier.

Smell: On the sweet side with low hops and nice wheat notes. Nothing extraordinary.

Taste: Light sweetness with light honey, wheat taste, some spice notes. Light tartness. Medium sourness is pronounced with swishing. Balance between sweet and sour is missing.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation. Works for me.

Overall, not a great weissbier, just okay.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a tulip.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a touch of haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a thin finger of frothy white foam without much retention at all. Nothing special.

Smell: aroma of damp, spent grain and a little hint of tartness. There's a hint of floral character here as well. I like Berliner weissbiers a lot, but this doesn't entice me at all.

Taste: more interesting than the aroma. Right off the bat is a piquant tartness, followed by a grainy malt flavor and a little bit of a sticky sweet finish. A cereal-like character finishes out the experience. Perhaps not the best in the world, but I like the tartness level.

Mouthfeel: light body with a big carbonation and a good, mouth-filling effervescence. Quite good.

Overall: this beer has some flaws, but it has a good tartness and a decent feel.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear light gold with a medium fizzy white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet honey malts with a little fruit and spice.

The flavor is sweet honey malts with a slight dry sour twang in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, it's an OK berliner weisse - a little on the sweet side.
