A: Pours a translucent bronze with a very thin fizzy head that disappears as quickly as it came (3)

S: Pale malts and a mild hop profile, but not much else here. (3)

T: Pale, somewhat caramelly malts with just enough hops to make it interesting. Sweet grain taste throughout and a nice wheaty finish. (3.5)

M: Smooth, light-bodied and not overly carbonated. (4)

D: Probably the high point of this brew. This one would session well with its mild taste and smooth mouthfeel. This would be a good transition brew for BMC converts, in my opinion. (4)

Not bad, but not something I will go out of my way to pick up again.

Nice golden pour and a full inch of white head on it. Looks nice and clear.

Aroma was mildly toasted grains, like cheerios. Floral hop bitterness. An easy drinker that didn't catch on, but was worth having around for lawnmower hot weather days.

Standard yellow gold pour, white head, 1" in depth, almost no lacing or retention. Decent clarity, full sail's stuff always looks relatively impressive. Aroma was a little bit toasty vienna type malt moreso than something i was accustomed to having in an english pale ale.

Delicate hop bitterness, generally an easy to drink beer that isn't huge in any aspect. Just light and toasty, sprinkles of tettenang and/or noble hops.

Rip curl was a short lived full sail beer, 1-2 seasonal appearances tops I would guess. It was a decent option one time when throwing disc.

Poured a copper color. Thin head with good retention. Earthy and slightly fruity Willamette hop nose, with a pleasant caramel note as well. A bit thin in body, but a nice caramel malt flavor comes through. Mild hop bitterness, hop flavor like it smells-- earthy and floral.

Pours a nice copper color. Foamy white head settled fairly quickly. Smells a bit fruity, perhaps like apricots or pears. Nice malty flavor, just a bit of hops apparent. Mouthfeel is fairly light in body. not overpowering, but then again it is an english pale ale. Alcohol is very light and almost not apparent. A fairly sessionable beer. I'd love to try it on tap.

A- clear copper with a two finger frothy off white head, great retent on that, thin bubbly filmy lace

S- herbal, doughy, dry fruit

T- bready malt, on the sweet side, fruit flavors creep around, yeast apparent, slight orange citrus note at finish. dry yeast, bread dough spark at finish, hop flavor in background

M- light bodied, dry finish, smooth, carbonation felt throughout

D- not a fan of EPA's, but i thought this was decent, bit sweet would of liked more hop flavor, worth a try

Flowing from the bottle a clear amber color with white head that dissipated rather quickly.

Aromas are a nice subtle maltiness, with some grass, pine character.

Flavors are that of a nice hop bitterness, malt, with a slight grassy character. Toastiness, with some piney character finihing out crisp and clean.

Mouth feel is a medium low carbonation, and a moderate body

Overall a very nice session style brew. Nice flavors and aromas, nothing to overwhelming lending to a nice balance.

Full Sail Rip Curl is a clear amber with a white head.

Aroma is sweet with notes of grass and possibly pine.

The taste is sweet and malty in the center with a little hop bite around the edges.

Mouthfeel is buttery - a good thing in my opinion

Drinkability is good. It would be quite easy to session this one at 5% abv. Recommended.

12oz bottle into mug.

Deep reddish amber color with a good light tan head, which settles to a foamy cap. Plenty of layered lacing.

Piney hops sit on top of a bready malt base. A touch of spicy notes are also present.

Biscuity malts switch with light hop bitterness, finishing off with a residual sweetness. Medium bodied with light medium carbonation and a slightly dry finish, along with light buttery notes that seems to take over the aftertaste.

This is an interesting beer, as it is almost like a hybrid between an English Pale Ale and an American Pale Ale. Recommended.

I really like an American brewer that takes a stab at brewing and English style PA. Well, Full Sail, a PNW brewer, has indeed succeeded! In a nonic glass it poured w/ample carbonation which developed into a nice fine carbonation. On initial pour a nice 2 - 3 finger head was acheived which, when it subsided, left a lasting outer ring and nice enduring center. Amber as amber gets in color. A great Goldings smell and a English malt (crystal ?) aroma. Very fine.

Taste is very authentic w/a malt to hop balance acheived by very few ales. I can only describe the taste sequence as Goldings hop, crystal malt with a nice finish typical for an English bitter (Fuggles or possible Target/Challenger?). Very high on the drinkability scale. I will buy this again and again....

Pours a clear amber colored ale with a decidedly reddish tinge to it. OK tan head that seems a little skimpy.

Smell is a little sweet with a decidedly vegetable aroma to it. But there really much scent here except vegetables and a little wood.

Taste is sweet and slightly fruity at the start. Decent English ale flavor with the expected flavors. Only problem is that the vegetable taste from the smell makes it to the flavor.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Not impressed at all with the drinkability. This would not make me throw up I WILL actively avoid this beer in the future.

The bottle clearly states that this an English-style pale, a rarity these days in US craftbrewing, and it certainly eschews some of the flashy flavors and aromas (that right NW hops!) that have come to characterize pale ales in the US. The result is a well-balanced and very refreshing summer ale.

It's copper in color with a mix of bread, salt, and lemon in the bouquet. The flavor is slightly thin--running watery toward the back of the tongue, but up front it has a nice balance of doughy malts and light fruit hop flavors. Curiously, the thinness as the end sort of runs on too long and makes for a less crisp finish than I would have liked. Nonetheless, this is a tasty brew in a style that's like a poor and overlooked cousin.

I also feel compelled to add that Rip Curl blows DH Shelter Pale--the only other major English pale brewed in the US that comes to mind--out of the freaking water. Worth a look.

States its an English-style pale ale & certainally seems to me its more that an APA, other than the hop varieties showcased

Pours bronze/amber with a 1' white head. some lacing & good head retention

Smell: fruitiness & crisp hops (this part lends towards the APA style)

Taste: Fruitty, followed by piney hops. Malt sweetness cuts in followed by honey notes & a crisp fruitty finish

MF: Light/medium in body with great carbonation & balance.
Drinks too easy, I could acept this an apa just an english pa, but a good summer sessioner regardless. I went away from from full sail for a while, because i thought their quality was slipping. This offering makes me think it's time to reevaluate these beers

Poured an orange/amber color with a decent head ...lacing lasted most of the glass.
Aroma was only sweet malt and bread...I could not get any hop presence.
Taste was again, sweet malts and bread or biscuits...malts definately taste toasted to me. Only a little bite from citrus hops on the end.
Aftertaste is drying and slightly citrus hops.
Mouthfeel is comfortable for this style and it is very drinkable if you are looking for a sweeter(English<?>) styled Pale Ale.
