Great selection of Belgian ales and the food is really good. But like all places in Stockholm it is going to cost you. I go here about once a month for a few pints and its always worth it, but I only have one or two then head on up to Oliver twist or down to Monks. Good thing about Stockholm is that you can walk or take the Underground everywhere and dont have to drive!
They have an awesome selection of the booming craft beer scene featuring many small Swedish micro brews. They also have a weekly Cantillion beer! I LOVE it!

Visited on May 23, 2012 while in Stockholm for the day (during a cruise around the Baltic):
Visited the establishment at around 2pm and considering that it was a warm sunny day all of the patrons were on the porch, which is where we ultimately ended up, so I got a limited view/vibe of the interior of the place. At that point in the day, there may have been only a few other patrons, maybe a half dozen.
We were quickly greeted upon entering and provided the beer menu. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and beer in general and even provided some sample to my wife so that she could figure out what she wanted. The menu was extensive and included US beers as well. The tap selection was not overly extensive, but still good and I think that we settled on a Bedaro Bitter and Tjockhult Tjinook, which if I recall is specially brewed for the bar. Both beers were served in the appropriate glassware and at the right temperature and with a 2-3 finger head.
On my way out, strolled through the interior of the bar, with no people, it looked like a typical bar, nothing especially memorable about it. Overall, we had a good experience and if ever back in that part of the world, we would probably stop in for another pint or two or three.

First off, thanks to my fellow BA's for stearing me in the direction of this place on my firs(and sadly short) trip to Stockholm. Secondly, another huge thanks to the other 7 in my crew that split the cab fare from our hotel into the city!
It was two hours before closing, and the weather was awful and the bar was crowded. Everything else was flawless! Service was very prompt at the bar even without speaking a drop of Swedish and asking questions about the extensive offerings. Had a few local pints before getting to the real reason I visited Akkurat...the cellar. First offering was no longer in stock, but quickly "settled" on a 2002 Cantillon Lou Peppe Framboise. Pricey I suppose if you just looked at the amount, but when you consider how long theyve properly aged it and how damned Nirvanesque that nectar was, I would have gladly dropped another chunk for another bottle. Alas, closing time, maybe I was lucky.
Draft selection is broad and great, though didnt hit any other comparable bars so cant compare to others. Cellar and normal bottle selection were overwhelming in a great way. Hell they even had
Konjaks! Stormaktsporter available!
If you go to Stockholm, go here...alot...till you run out of money :).

Visited Akkurat while in Sweden for the Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Fest. The first evening we stopped in it was incredibly packed, and could not find a table or a place to stand. Returned the next night and got there before it opened. There was a line of people waiting to get in, but we were able to get a decent table. The beer selection is incredible, especially if you're into vintage lambics, which I am not. And you could drop a ton of money because they're not cheap. I tried a Swedish IPA in a bottle which was decent, but switched to the Harviestoun Natural Blonde that was on cask which was awesome. The burger I had was one of the best ever. They had a great local band playing, but the place was incredibly packed because of it. Our waitress was great considering how many people she had to serve. This place reminded me a lot of the Kulminator in Antwerp because of their incredible cellar offerings. Just way too crowded to be all that enjoyable for me.

In short: Akkurat is one of the world's true great beer bars and is worth a trip to Stockholm on its own.
Akkurat is lockated just south of Gamla Stan, the main touristy island in Stockholm. Not far out of the way and well worth visiting. It's a large bar with a large patio. Good music, and a wide range of clientele. With the beer list, it's amazing it's not completely filled with beer geeks 24 hours/day, but I like the mix of people there.
Every beer we had was served perfectly. The casks were vented correctly and at the right temp. Beers served in correct glassware, lambic baskets, etc. It's just done right.
The bartenders were both insanely knowledgeable. I've been to a number of beer bars where the bartenders are clueless. But these guys were beer geeks themselves and knew everything about the list, could tell you stories about the brewers, the history of the bottles, etc. Just awesome.
But the selection is why you go to Akkurat. You name a beer, they have it. Even ignoring the European beers, their beer list would be top notch in the U.S. Vintage stuff all over the place, but, that's not why you go...Looking at the cuvee list you see whales, whales whales. Beers that you cannot try anywhere else in the world. You can see it on the website, but it's that much more impressive when you're at the bar looking at the list. They've got vintage lambics all over the place, lambics made especially for them, Narke beers, etc. Just awesome. We ended up with the Cognac Stormaktsporter, Cantillon Loerik, and a few drafts. If we hadn't been on a budget, I would've spent days at Akkurat drinking through the list. Beer in Sweden is expensive, but when you're buying rare beers like this at Akkurat, you could easily walk out of there with a $500-$1000 tab in a night, so just be careful. If you want to geek out, though, this is the place to go.

Best bar I've ever been to. Best beer selection I've ever seen, especially of Belgian lambics. Moules frites are great and burger is good. Atmosphere is relaxed and nice. Sadly, I haven't been here in about 3 years, but I'll always love this as the bar in which I got introduced to beer! Akkurat is even very reasonably priced by Stockholm standards!
(Warning: if you're American, Stockholm bar pricing standards may cause acute, lasting shock and distress. Swedes go to Copenhagen or onto the ferry to Helsinki to drink for a reason, and that reason isn't that there's a lack of cool bars in Stockholm.)

3rd beer-stop in the vastly underrated beer mecca of Stockholm
legendary bar - was somewhat thrown off by the odd location is Sodermalm - pretty nondescript/unoriginal building. arrived at 5:45 on a Sunday, when they opened at 6:00, allowing me to secure 2 seats at the very small bar
atmosphere - nothing particularly special, live (bad honky tonk rock) music on sundays, pretty small bar, beer schwag throughout
quality- didnt physically see the cellar, but everything we consumed was of great quality, proper glassware, attentive pours
service - all bartenders in stockholm were a joy to converse with, including these guys. they obviously are incredibly knowledgable about their beer as well
selection - tap selection was nothing too crazy - there is a rotating cantillon tap which is pretty awesome and a rotating "crazy tap". We had each - the gueuze and nils oscar 2007 imperial stout, respectively. the cellar list is just stupid. pages and pages and pages of vintage lambics - cantillon, de cam, drie fontein and on and on. pages of holiday seasonals, vintage trappists, etc, all of the crazy swedish vintages. Cantillon makes beer specifically for this place - enough said. Incredible.
food - mussels cooked in whisky, bacon and cream. authentic-style frites. Very good.

By far the best vintage and obscure lambic list at any bar I have seen in the world. All of the one-offs that were made by Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen just for Akkurat (the Reed Gueuze's, the Akkurat 50/50, Soliel de Minuit, etc), plus various vintages of the regular offerings going back over a decade. Seriously, go to there website and check their vintage list. They also have the Kaggens. Didn’t eat here so I can’t comment on that. Only downside... drinking in Stockholm is expensive. Save up for this place though, its worth the trip and Stockholm is an interesting city to spend a few days in.

On my trip in Stockholm this was my first stop. Went on Saturday afternoon totally dead, I was told this was because the soccer games were on and it was nice out. This was good because it provided me some ample time to talk to the staff, but a downside because there are no tvs to watch the soccer games. Atmosphere in general is pretty boring, typical euro bar, wood everything, beer memo on the wall but nothing special. There are 2 menus one for the day and the vintage or cellar menu. The cellar menu is what I want to right away. I was awed with verticals of trappist beers, westy 6, and unreal lambics such as cantillon loerik, millenium gueze & jj blauw. The selection was great, quality best in the world hands down...The staff is good very knowledgable and helpful. It was slow so the staff even took me to the cellar which was awesome. 5 floors down, I saw one of 3 cellars filled to the brim with unreal beers. Interestingly they advocate laying all lambics on there side. The price is high but this cellar.
This is a true must see, almost a reason to go to Stockholm.

Ah, the famed Akkurat. Yes. This place is quite nice indeedy. Though they redid some of the aesthetics and it looks a bit cleaner than you might imagine now. The vintage list is obscenely insane and the draft list is nice too. They have 4 cask engines also. The food is good, though honestly, I could never move beyond just eating the steak tartar. It can get busy in here, so don't freak out or be totally surprised if you walk in and it's completely packed. Swedes love their beer, and American brews at that, too. It's one of the most famous and popular bars in all of Stockholm.
