Another Texel island brewed product. Since I started to like tripels laetly decided to open this bottle that was in my fridge for over a year now.

A: Dark yellow/light amber color with a decent head.

S: Hops and citrus dominate. Some honey sweetness.

T: Light malts and strong hops that cause a bitter taste. Citrus notes and a metallic tint.
Warming alcohol.

M: Medium carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a medium body.

D: Not my style in general, but still a pleasant brew.

Reviewed from notes I hastily took. Hazy orange-brown colour, medium carbonated with a medium thin texture, very district aroma, lightly bitter taste, you cannot really taste the 8,5% of alchol and that’s a good thing.
I have to find this one again.

I enjoyed a 0.3l bottle of this at In de Wildeman in Amsterdam on 02OCT12. Cost was €4.10.

My tulip glass contained a medium golden colored offering. It was a touch muted and cloudy, with a creamy, rocky, off-white/tan head. It ebbed back slowly with nice lacing left behind. Nose was subdued, with some green fruit, like pear and apple, present. Had a good, medium body, and was mostly smooth, with only light prickle hitting the tongue.

Flavor was a bit crackery, with a smidge of sweetness and candi sugar noticeable. Pear and green apple were here as well, along with a hint of mango. The finish was a bit dry and chalky, though some melon appeared here also. A nice Tripel, indeed! Prosit!

fine to medium bubbled almost white head of 2 fingers that . Body is murky yellowish amber with very little carbonation visible.

Citric smell, maybe some hops and something, tartness? and something that reminds me of the beach is it sand or sweat?

Only a little sweetness, which is almost unique for a Tripel. There is sourness that balances the sweetness perfectly, but the bitterness is a bit stronger, especially in the aftertaste. I taste some yeast, green apple

Foam is quite creamy. Carbonation is quite low and makes this brew a bit stale. I like it bubbly. However, it remains refreshing due to the bitterness.

Overall a good Tripel that is not too typical and therefore will be interesting for any Tripel-loving beer hunter. This brewery seems to do things a little differently or is it the water from the dunes? Good effort!

I bought this beer in the south of Holland in the best wine and beerstore from Holland. Yesterday evening my buddy Andy was at my place and we dicided to drink some nice beers. This was one of them.

Poured in my Struise glass this beer looks good, a bit darker yellow fluid with sediment in the beer floating around. What a pity, it would have scored higher without this sediment.

Unfiltered beer which is very drinkable, some spices and the yeastyness you can expect from a beer in Holland.

This beer seems rather low rated to me: I really enjoyed it: the smell, which was of fresh hops and malts...the look of orange-golden colour, a lot of sediment at the bottom, a bit thin head, not much carbonation, could be better, but the taste itself was very much ok to me: tripel notes of bitterness and spicyness. Decently dry finish too.
Not bad at all.

coaster notes, beer picked from the intimidating board at random

appearance: served in appropriate glassware - hazy orange body, frothy white foam

smell: sweet citrus, active yeast, bready

taste: a tossup between this one and the Bikse tripel, which we sampled at the same time. Neither were great nor were they poor - this one stayed a little closer to style and was less hoppy

mouthfeel: fairly full

drinkability: ok

A strange, unfiltered brew that is worth trying for the novelty.

Brownish orange and a little cloudy in the glass-- exactly like apple cider, unpasteurised. Smells a little musty and winey. The taste is certainly a surprise. Hoppy, murky, and yet sprightly. Unusual but with such a depth of roasty malt and bitter hop resins that it gets your attention. A hint of soapy flavor, so rather than a tripel I call it a Dishwater Blonde.

Someone should translate the paragraphs in Dutch on the bottle. I think "is een blonde krachtpatser" says it all. That last word means "hooligan" in Dutch, so that should give you a clue.

Got this beer from a friend who bought it directly at the brewery. Poured into a Mort Subite glass. The beer pours a relatively clear yellow-orange color with a one finger thick white head that lasted for several minutes before changing into a bit messy lacing.

Smell: not too strong and complex: Bitterhops, fruits (peach, citrus) and some alcohol

Taste: As mentioned before, this beer is mainly bitter-dry in taste. Sharp bitter hops, some citrus zest, hints of peach. The aftertaste has some more sweetness in it, but soon it changes back to spicy bitterness with some alcohol.

Mouthfeel: medium-low carbonation, light-bodied. Burns the tongue a bit

Overall: Decent beer, but I didn't like the spicy bitterness in this beer, it burned the tongue a bit too much. But overall, although it is not my brew-style, nice to try and recommendable.

Something must have happened after the first 2 reviewers. The beer is not very cloudy and the overwhelming yeast taste is gone. I know that the brewery has been sold a couple of times and switched brewmasters, so let's hope they can maintain this level.

The color was orange and slightly cloudy, a nice creamy head that collapses after some minutes.Just like a regular tripel.
Smell was fruity with some faint caramel notes. A light bitter and some peach.

Taste is bitter and dry. Some citric notes from the hop that is just too sharp for me. I can feel it burning on tongue. In the end the caramel or candy sugar taste is back. It is kind of sticky on my lips.

So not too bad, except for the sharp bitterness (Brewer's Gold?) and maybe the yeast management. OK, that's two critical things. No, really the beer is not too bad.

Its the second beer of the texelse that I drink and its like the other one. The beer looks and tastes like the biggest nightmare you can have when you're homebrewing.
Appearance is cloudy and the foam is gone before you can notice that there ever was one.
Smell is good though and the only positive to say about this beer. Think they're using the Rochefort yeast for it because it has almost exactly the same nose.... Malty, litle green but mostly the yeastsmell. Taste is empty with a bad & hard bitterness... not my beer and I'll stay away from this one!

Amber colour, almost copper. Scarce foam, and quickly fallen down.
The smell is fresh, hops, but quite light. Some floral notes after a while.
The taste begins with malty notes, quickly overhelmed by the generous hopping. But maybe the taste it is a little heavy.
Too frizzy.
The hop prevails, even in the aftertaste, where it comes back with strenght. Medium-light body.
After all, not too satisfactory.
