The selection here seems to be fresh, but is not very large. There are a few brews that are available here that I have not seen elsewhere, with the Weihenstephaner Dark Hefe and Hoogstraten Porter among the most interesting. Most of the offering seems to be American craft brews, but there are a few German and Belgian beers. The staff here is pleasant, but in the four or five times I've come here, I've never seen any help in the beer section. It's worth checking this place out, but I prefer Mustard Seed Market, which is just across the street.

It's a giant foofy furniture/high end/quality store. I has furniture, weird sauces, wines, and just stuff. For the love of god they have african art. If that is any indication of the clientele they want, I don't know what is. Their beer selection is not big, but it has some nicer hard to find beers and it has singles so you are able to make your own six pack, which is a nice feature. They also sell 10 packs of "summer ales", "craft ales", and "world beers". They are a cool Idea, and I've found them to be a nice selection. Overall, go bye yourself ,sit there and take your time picking out some fine ales and lagers.

Located in the ultra-yuppie Fairlawn section of northern Akron.

It might be misleading to call this a beer/liquor store. It's more of an Ikea or Pier One with a small beer/wine section tucked away in the corner. They have six-packs (decent variety) and singles. The singles selection is pretty good- I picked up a Goose Island IPA, a North Coast Old Rasputin Imperial Stout, a Crazy Ed's Original Cave Creek Chili Beer (finally found a single bottle to review) and some other goodies, along with a couple pints of Weihenstephaner and a Grolsch-style swing-top bottle of Fischer Bitter. Gotta say, though... if you're in Akron, it's only a 20 minute drive down to Riverside Wine & Imports in Kent, where they have a truly astounding selection of singles.

Be warned... the beer/wine is but a small part of World Market. If you bring a lady here with you, she'll spend way more time looking at overpriced "antique" endtables, imported Swedish chocolates and exotic Asian spices than you do looking at beer. Expect to spend 30-60 minutes trailing behind her with a couple of mixed six-packs asking, "Um, are you ready to go yet?"

Worth checking out, but far from essential.

This World market is similar to any other one I have been to. It is in the Fairlawn area of Akron. It is in the Market Square plaza, and there is plenty of parking. It is also near Mustard Seed Market, Acme, Thirsty Dog and Winking Lizard so a person could have a full afternoon of beer bliss in this area.

World Market is a great store. It is like Pier 1 but with alcohol. They have a selection of wines and beers from all over the world. The best thing is their "beer endcap", which allows to to mix and match single bottles from pretty much any of the 6-packs they carry. What a wonderful way to sample beers!

You can also find some Belgian brews like Corsendonk in larger bottles. Regionals like Great Lakes are usually in stock as well. All in all, this is a one-stop place to try 50+ beers without having to buy more than one bottle at a time. While you're there, you can get a chair from Japan and some placemats from India.

The service here is decent. You can usually find someone in the beer/wine section of the store who knows what they are talking about.
