Pours a nice creamy 1+ finger head that fades semi slowly with sticky lacing, semi hazy reddish honey orange beer.
Nose brings some earthy hops, light spicy, hint of candied orange, and hint of pine. Then reddish copper malts with a hint of caramel.
Taste brings more earthy hops, slightly herbal and grassy, with hint of pine and candied orange, grassy herbal taste with the earthiness. Then reddish toasty copper malts again, light caramel and malty sweetness, with a hint of a booze like taste almost. The bitterness is quite strong and builds as it goes. When it finishes it gets even more bitter and borderline astringent, with long lingering spicy chewy hops and earthiness.
Mouth is med to fuller bodied, good carb at least.
Overall meh, just a beer with a few reddish malts and a ton of bittering hops, nothing really good about it, very boring, no depth, lots of bitterness without much hop flavor, and even astringent bitterness, and barely drinkable.

Poured a hazy light copper hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and very good sticky lacing.
The smell featured toasted caramel malts and an herbal hop.
The taste consisted of toasted malts, soft caramel and a cleansing herbal hop. Pleasant residual hop spice and toasted malt.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a tasty and well balanced ale. More ESB than IPA.

Poured from 22oz bottle into HF tulip. Pours an orangey color with a bit of white foam. Sweet malt aroma coupled with some citrusy/grapefruity hop aromas. Taste is very similar...sweet malts, but evenly balanced with some citrusy sweet but bitter hops. Its a decent IPA. Easy drinker and very palatable; which is its best characteristic. Its good, but not amazing...but I have to say, I was actually surprised that it didnt taste like crap...it just seemed gimmicky. It was ok, but id never reach for it again if I saw it on a shelf.

Straight pour from 22oz pry-off bottle to a 25cl Duvel Single tulip; no freshness info evident.
Appearance (4.0): There’s a nice, pretty-solid two fingers of light tan head that comes off of the pour, a mix of fine and a lot of very fat bubbles on that top. It recedes slowly to a rocky cap, leaving some pretty decent webbing on the glass as it goes. The body is a nice orange-amber, with just a slight chill haze. Decent looking body, head / lacing is good, too.
Smell (2.5): There’s an apple cider-ish caramel malt tone that comes out first, but the hops do contribute a floral, grassy character. The hop profile is really kind of weak, though. Below average, not terrible.
Taste (3.0): Quite a bit more in the way of hops on the palate: mostly vegetal / herbal in character at first and moving into an abrasive citrus pith as it warms, they come off moderately strong and finish more medicinal than I’d like. Really quite medicinal in the finish, actually, which hangs on for a while. The malt body is simple, kind of a low caramel character that hangs in the back: not really bready, not very sweet, just kind of there. No alcohol or yeast character evident here—very neutral. Supposedly this is brewed with Columbus, Cascade, Liberty, and Zeus hops, but I’m not getting any of the flavor characteristics I’d expect from those hops—must be almost all bittering.
Mouthfeel (3.5): Very dry in the finish, with a body that’s JUST on the light side of medium; the carbonation is subtle but does provide a cascading tingle / foam-up as it goes.
Overall (3.0): The individual components of this beer aren’t necessarily that bad, but overall this comes off as average, for the style. I get the impression that there’s not a lot in the way of flavoring or aroma hops, which I think really would have made the difference here—solid bitterness (albeit not quite in my preferred style), good appearance, and a decent feel, but the aroma isn’t there, the malt body is lacking at best, and there’s no integration between hops and malt body, which is where the style can excel by pairing the right kind of malt character with spicy, earthy, floral, or fruity hops. But that just isn’t happening here. It’s okay beer.
