What can I say? It took us 5 years to figure the right blend of malts. Yeah, at one point we thought "oh great, this one really is our white whale". But we're in a groove with this lovely pub ale. And if I'm going to rate one of our own beers, I might as well rate the one that started our whole "Let's brew American grown beer" trend. Right? Cheers.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a pint glass
-Good looking brew. A nice cloudy orange w/good head retention.
-Smell if fruity as in Juicy Fruit gum, and a fruit that I can't seem to put my finger on at the moment.
-Taste and mouth feel is where this beer stands out in my opinion. The malt & hop balance in this beer is awesome. Clean, with just enough bitterness to keep you coming back for more.
Does very well with food.
Yes, I recommend.

I really really liked this one (although I had it after a 1/2 marathon race so I was really thirsty)! The flavor feminded me of toasted nuts kissed with mild sweetness and was really nice to drink. It was perfect with the smoky flavors of the sandwich I ordered.

(Served in a nonic)
A- This beer pours a clear dark amber body with a thin film of bubbles that fade to a ring of pale white foam .
S- The clean soft caramel dry malt aroma grows a bit as it warms but stays pretty soft.
T- The watery taste has a husky biscuit malt flavor and a touch of caramel sweetness as it opens. There is a bitter bite in the finish with some hop flavor hints.
M- The light mouthfeel has no alcohol heat but a touch of astringency and a soft scrubbing bubbles that boost the bitterness in the finish.
O- The harsh and rough taste is hard to get through, with the husky flavor and hops only coming through as a bitter bite.

Awesome label. Awesome name. Never heard of it.
From notes:
Pours a nice clearish gold with a few moments of white bubbly head. Great beading, not much in the way of lacing.
Smells pretty fresh - grassy hops with some sweeter grain presence. Nothing too exciting but seemingly pretty well balanced.
The taste shows a lot of the same qualities. The lady-friend noted a strange mustard note though that bothered me for the rest of the glass. Maybe it's just in my head (or hers).
Very drinkable. This beer made for a great hot day on the lake.

Served in a wellington glass.
Appearance: Straight amber, light to almost no bubbles on the body with an off-whitehead rising to maybe 1/8".
Smell: Heavy malts, lightly toasted honestly before sipping it feels sweet.
Taste: Really complex, not over powering but real good in the malt category. It is a notch sweet a little fruit hint of light but bitter apricot.
Mouth: Not such a sticking after taste but very smooth to intake.
Overall: Bought this not knowing anything about it and boy I was satisfied. It is rich and would satisfy most if not all palates. Salud!

Poured a medium copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured soft caramel malts with a fresh herbal hop.
The taste consisted of a toasted caramel malt which was quickly balanced out by a lightly bitter grassy hop. There was a pleasant lingering herbalness detected.
The mouthfeel was toward the cleaner side of the style.
Overall a tasty and well balanced ale. As much an ESB as an APA in my opinion. Very quaffable.

Pours a copper hazy body with small beige frothy head. Very lacy. Nice appearance.
Nose is big time malt and fruit notes. Honey. Nutty.almost brown ale like aroma. I like it a lot.
Taste is a more malt forward pale. Caramel, chestnuts, stone baked bread. Hops bitter it up enough for a good balance to keep things interesting.
I love malty pale ales and this is definately one of the better ones. Highly recommended. Nice job by this new brewery.

Pours a deep, slightly hazy amber with a nice 1" that slowly receded to a cover leaving a good amount of lace.
Smelled primarily of the bottle cap..a bit of hop presence was also noted .
Taste was hoppy up front..a bit fruity, slightly piney/resiny with a slightly sweet malt backbone. Hops came on at the moderately bitter finish. Mild carbonation and a medium body here.
Overall a nice example of an APA which I generally expect to be milder than an IPA. I'd recommend this and would have it again.
Cheers!

22oz bottle. Label is not fancy but I found the beer to be a nice Amber color and head that lasted for a while. The smell was a typical pale ale and taste was right on. This American Pale Ale went down easy and my friends were impressed with the beer. Would recommend this my friends.

Nice extra from spwalshesq
*Bomber to pint
A: MobyD pours a clear copper color with some golden edges to it and nice carbonation evident. A two finger khaki foam head formed with low retention and some streaks of lace.
S: Smells of earthy pines and an herbal spiciness combined with some malty breads. A touch of sweet caramelization.
T: Some fruity hops and pine notes. A bready caramel sweetness and a tart almost sour aftertaste. Hops are just puckering and somewhat astringent to the palate. Flavors are not quite jiving for me.
M: Super light and creamy mouthfeel. Real intense crisp dry finish. Good carbonation.
D: I found this brew refreshing and easy to drink. The combo of fruity tart and sweet caramel on a light body reminded me of drinking apple juice.
Just a bit too much tart and unbalanced bitterness going on for me to rank higher.
