Served in a tapered pub pint at Emmetts in West Dundee.

Color is dark brown with reddish ruby highlights around the edges. Good clarity, with light visible carbonation. Frothy light tan foam around the edges, forming arcs of drippy lace as the glass is drained.

Aroma has some light hints of smoke, moreso than the taste. Some toasted grain husks and suggestions of wood smoke.

Flavor is lightly bitter and malty, feels fairly light and drinkable. Smoke from the aroma is very mild in the taste, would like a touch more to come through. Finishes dry, lightly woody aftertaste.

As far as Rauchbiers go, this one is fairly mild and should appeal to a wider audience, but was tasty enough to have a couple.
