Served in a nonic pint glass at the brewpub.
Part two of my Pint Night Waltz through the brewpub. It pours a clear copper topped by a finger of dirty cream foam. The nose comprises lemon zest, light lime, light toffee, and light biscuit. The taste holds notes of biscuits (lightly buttered), dark greens, mild toffee, and light lemon peel. These converge pretty nicely, I must say. The body is a hefty-leaning light, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta dry finish. Overall, a nice, enjoyable brew, something of a surprise (though I'm not sure why...).

12 oz (maybe 16) tap pour into a Pilsner glass.
A - One and a Half finger off-white head with good retention and good lacing. Light clear amber color with medium carbonation.
S - Good malty and hoppy balance. Toasted caramel smell to the malts. Somewhat pilsner-like in aroma too. Floral hops with a hint of citrus.
T - Nice flavor! A good caramel maltiness with a wheaty, husky aftertaste balanced well with a light level of hops that imparts a good floral and bittering aspect.
M - Smooth but with ample carbonation. Clean finish that's refreshing with just a touch of bitterness.
D - While the flavor is good, it's just a bit much for a session beer to me. I like it but I'd have one and move on.

This beer is listed as a Red Ale, but the growler I have lists this beer as an English Style Ale. From a growler poured into an imperial pint glass.
A: Like the look so far, crystal clear if the crystal were a shade of amber. Could stand to be a little darker, but the head is where it needs to be, looks sticky and is leaving some lace behind without me even taking a sip yet.
S: It's an English ale alright. Solid malt aroma, sweet crusty, almost doughy, with a slight floral hoppiness, a soft, background kind of aroma that lets the malt show what it can do to your senses. Little nuttiness thrown in here for good measure.
T/MF: Mmm, one sip and I think I'm hooked. The opening on this beer is quite nice. Mouthfeel is the first thing I notice then I notice the ABV and wonder how a beer this small could feel so big. Firm, almost chewy mouthfeel that coats evenly. Carbonation are nice little pinpricks, not big fat burpy bubbles, really a wonderful texture. Opens like a door flung open, that is everything sort of comes at you at once, flavors of doughy caramel, soft floral and herbal hops, a slight buttery nuttiness. Middle is mildly buttery but nothing, I think, that detracts from the overall enjoyability of the beer. Finish is a nice balance between slightly caramel and sweet nuttiness with caramel leading the way.
D: As Larry David might say, preetaaaay, preetaaay, preetaaay good. It's good but not great a little off, would like a little more depth, but as an imitation of an English Ale this is something to behold.

Pours a clear bronze color with about a fingers worth of white head. Lacing clings with each sip.
The nose is light and has a subtle amount of sweet malt mixed with some English hops. Nothing too special.
The taste has a slight bitterness with some English fruity hops and a balancing malt bill to even things out.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and crisp. Refreshing and tasty.
Overall, decent brew but I wish the hops shined a bit more.
