This is the first store I saw Jolly Pumpkin in around here. However, this store was difficult to find. D. Schulers is tucked away in a tiny strip mall with very little to mark it's presence. This is primarily a wine store, as it's name would lend one to think, however the beer selection is very good. Lots of US micros stacked on shelves well organized along with imports on other shelves. There is lots of Belgians and many other from around the world. The local brewerys are well represented here too. Nice prices and service make this a nice store to have in the area. A bit out of the way for me but, when I am on that side of town I try to visit them.

This place is very hard to find and without the help of beer advocate I would never had even known about it. This is mostly a wine store with beer being almost hidden in the back quarter of the store. The selection there was quite surprising to me. They had a good selection of local micros but not as good as some other places. Their Belgian selection was also good. I was mainly surprised by the fact that they had some Rogue I hadn't seen, Geary's HSA (never seen before), and some Abita I hadn't seen. The workers there didn't help me but were helpful to others who had asked for it. A good place to check out if in that area.

Obviously major wine store but very good selection of beer. Little bit hard to find as its kind of hidden in small strip mall but relatively easy acces off of major highway (MI-131). Excellent array of Western Michigan beers (with all K-zoo, GR breweries represented as well as some other midwestern ones. Decent selections of Belgians comparable to any decent beer store. Agree that they have a pretty good display of Rogue beers. Select bottles from some interesting places throughout Europe also.
Coolers were large and wellstocked, staff was very friendly. I told him about Three Philosophers from Omegang and he didn't even know about it. Nice feature is that they had 6-packs of samples by brewery and also by theme (stouts, X-mas theme, etc.)

While wine takes up the majority of the store, a good 30% or so of floor space, as well as a full wall of cooler is dedicated to beer.
Very good depth of Michigan and mid-west beers (Bell's, Great Lakes, New Holland, etc.), a nice selection of Belgians, including quite a few 750s, a good selection of other micros (a ton of Rogue in both 12 oz and 22 oz - never seen more at a single store before) and interesting stuff from the rest of Europe.
Everything seemed in excellent shape, and no out of code products were noted. Back stock seemed to be all in the cooler. The staff I talked with were very enthusiatic about beer, and seemed on top of it. Interestingly, all six of the customers in the store while I was were shopping for beer, not wine. Kudos to the Great Lakes Michigan Sales Rep. who pointed me to this fine store.
