A: Clear honey color, sudsy white head. Little retention, no lacing.

S: Pine, woodsy hop smell. Faint grain, caramel malt.

T: Pretty good balance. Caramel malt sweetness is definitely there, grassy or maybe earthy hops balance it out. Hops are strong, but not overbearing. Malts linger in the aftertaste, pretty smooth beer.

M: Great body, not too carbonated. Hop oils on the tongue.

D: A good pale ale. Bought a six pack of this stuff to try it out, and it doesn't suck. So, drinking the remaining five won't be a problem. The malt flavor from this is pretty nice, and a nice hop presence.

12 fl oz can served in a pilsner glass, reviewed live:

A - Pours a nearly transparent orange/copper color with a finger and a half of sticky, soapy, just off-white head. Retention is average. Generic.

S - Sweet, buttery caramel is dominant. Bland pale and crystal malts build the weak foundation. Very light floral hops. Incredibly simple. Mild in strength. Not really excited to try this one. Imbalanced on the nose.

T - Hops are more evident on the palate, but only contribute bitterness. Bland malt extract-like note throughout. Bitter on the finish. Sweet, basic malt and caramel destroy any balance. Simple and uninviting. Watery.

M - Thick. Watery.

M - Just....No. First beer I've had from the brewery and I won't be actively seeking out another. Poorly executed.

Medium, maybe bigger light tan head settles into a nice lacing above a clear copper golden colored beer that seems to be well carbonated.

Light citrus and floral hops aroma with just a tad bit of a grain malt coming through.

Nice hops bit with citrus, pine, and light floral aspects in the taste and again there seems to be just a tad bit of grain malts sneaking in.

A nice dry almost bittering aftertaste with just a hint of the hops taste on this medium bodied IPA.

A decent IPA, worth a try, although there are better IPA out there, not many come in cans that you can take tubing, to waterparks, etc. for that reason I give this a big thumbs up. Forget the Miller, Bud, etc. and grab some of these when heading out.

Bought a six-pack of this on whim three years ago and wasn't impressed. Tried the remaining one that had been aging all that time and was BLOWN AWAY! Probably the best aging beer I've ever tried. Review based on three-year old version:

A: Standard pale ale copper with some nice sediment floating around.

S: Slightly, subtly floral.

T: Surprisingly creamy. Nice vanilla flavor with a smoothly bitter hop finish.

MF: Rich and malty for a pale ale.

O: Made me realize what I'm missing by not aging more beers.

nice can of pale ale in my book. pours a sticky looking sunset color with a small white head just floating there above the beer. smells great, plenty of fresh hops in the pine forest family type, touch of english malt aroma. flavor is pretty standard for a pale ale, bitter but syrupy in the finish and a lingering bitter hop aftertaste. feel i like a lot, sudsy in the mouth and expansive. overall a decent pale ale, but in the colorado market it doesnt stand out for me, price was fair though, and its sessionable despite its moderately elevated abv. good start to the evening

Pours a darker copper with a parchment paper white head reaches 2 inches before settling into a steady froth. Leaves cascading lacing on the glass.

Bright citrus hop character grapefruit and lemon very flashy over a sweet bread malt character not sticky at all. Addition of some sweet pear and apples in the aroma as well.

The flavor comes off as slightly bready with a good amount of grain husk and cereal. Citrus was only in the aroma, hop profile comes off as medicinal and slightly pine mixed with some vinous fruit, bitterness is very strong but has an after taste of oolong tea. Lingers nicely. Malt bill and hop variety are a bit off but the aftertaste and drying bitterness add to the refreshment.

Average body and carbonation, aftertaste lingers and dries well enough. Nothing really stands out, carbonation degenerates as the beer warms.

Standard pale ale fare though I am pleased that it comes in a can and that it's bold in the aroma and flavor, even if the taste is a little off the mark. Still can't shake the bitterness, lingers on forever and tastes of chalk and Chinese black tea.

Third Eye pours a bright amber into my Perfect Pint glass. The beer has leisurely carbonation and a light haze. A small eggshell cap slowly falls to a patchwork film. A bit of lace is left behind.

Pretty standard APA fare here. Lemon, grapefruit and pine ride on top of lightly toasted grain. The bitterness level is moderate and appropriate for the style. It lingers into the finish. In the mouth, the beer is medium-light and slightly oily. Overall, an OK APA.

Can into pint glass
A - Big 2 finger eggshell head, slightly hazy medium orange/brown coloring on the beer, relatively large bubbles
S - Quite robust hops and citrus control the doughy scent, surprisingly bold smell
T - Bready start transforms smoothly to a citrus to a bitter and a slightly sour finish. Almost like taking a bite of sourdough. Something seems to be off-balance.
M - Upper moderate to high carbonation works nicely to maintain the overall middle ground mouthfeel
D - I like it, but not that interested in another
A good beer that can be improved upon

Cloudy orange and reddish puree, little to know head....

lemons, orange soda and something like cotton candy on the nose, interesting...

Tastes of ripe orange pulp, sweet and sour sauce, some garden vegetable and of course some medium strength medicinal hops

Very light body and medium carbonation, no real afterfeel besides the hops taste

I guess I could recommend this, it would be like my most average "Eye" pale ale, not great not bad.

12 oz bottle. The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is caramel and toffee malt, with some pine mixed in. The beer smells a little bit like tea. 355ml can poured into a Young's pint pot.

A. Deep red coloured beer with a huge white head.

S. Roasted malt, burnt fruit, the slightet hop tang.

T. Toasted malt, slightly hoppy.

M. Medium bodied.

D. A clean, smooth drinking beer, much better than its canned sibling Steam Engine.

Pour - very, very bright orange in color with some darker shades and an inch of stark white head. The color of this beer when held to the light is truly impressive.

Aroma - sweet orange, caramel, toasted bread, pineapple juice and mango. Lots of tropical fruits and a good dose of maltiness. Not sure where the hops are just yet. Its not a hefty hop bomb as far as aroma is concerned.

Taste - sweet and tangy with a less pronounced hop flavor than I was expecting. Its got a lot of orange and pineapple juice notes along with some bitterness in the finish. Extremely soft on the palate with a nice caramel malt flavor that meshes will with the moderate hoppiness.

Overall - not every IPA is a tongue numbing, IBU bomb. Some are balanced and taste great as they are without pushing any limits. This is one of those beers. I could definitely enjoy a few of these without a problem.
Would I buy more of it? - sure, its a solid brew. Not the hoppiest canned IPA on the shelves but nothing I'd be ashamed to bring to the counter.

A - pours a pale copper with a nice head

S - smell is dominated by piney, bitter hops.

T - the taste closely follows the nose. Starts ff with a little bit of caramel malts that is soon dominated by some very bitter pine hops. I didn't realize this was an IPA until I reviewed it on here, but it makes sense.

M - creamy mouthfeel that goes down smoothly

D - this is a solid IPA - albeit, it could be a bit more balanced. This six pack went quickly after a day on the mountain...

A darker amber color with some disturbingly chunky sediment deposits lurking and sinking to the bottom. The nose is doughy and floral; perhaps not the freshest can I have here. I thought it was a pale ale when I wrote notes for this, I didn't know it's considered to be an IPA. So, in saying that it tastes like a weaker IPA, I guess I was right. Smooth throughout with a moderately bitter finish. Not life, or diaper, changing.
