the fire walker is walking man's street walker malt liquor infused with roasted poblanos and anaheims, and fresh habaneros for heat.
orange pour, bubbly but no head. looks like a glass of fizzy apple juice. aroma pops with really fresh vegetal notes.. big time rendered pepper sugar and a smoky heat note. tasting this beer brings forth an incredible balance between heat, sweetness, and earthiness. the malt liquor proves to be the perfect canvas for complimentary chiles. sweetness counteracts the bitter earthy character of the pepper melange. finish is a tad spicy, definitely due to the habaneros. i can't recall trying too many 'imperial' chile beers, but walking man is definitely pioneering a successful new genre here. i like being able to sip a fiery ale instead of furiously shotgunning an unbalanced spicy pils or pale ale.
i realize this is an experimental one-off, but i hope that walking man attempts this beer again for us chile-heads. you've found the perfect base beer for it, go wild with the pepper choices.

Had this on tap in August of 2009 at the Walkingman Brewery in Stevenson, Washington. The colour was light gold with no head at all. The aroma was brimming with chile pepper and little else. On the palate there were some hops up front but then a wave of chile took over and dominated my palate front and back and all the way down my throat. I don't usually care for chile beers of any kind, but this was quite nice and highly definitive and assertive!
