This is the Budweiser of Barcelona.
Exactly what you'd expect of an American lager, crisp, some malt, adjunct flavors present, low bitterness, perfect for kicking back about a dozen. The only thing that surprised me about this beer is that it had a greater floral hop presence than most American lagers. I picked some up in the smell and a bit in the taste as well. I wouldn't try seeking this one out, but if you come across it, or happen to be in Barcelona, why not?

Anyone who rips this beer must be drinking a skunked bottle. On tap at Zeus Kushina in Portland, OR this is an above average European lager. Clear golden with nice lace, malty aroma and taste, finishes clean with slightly sweet finish. Find it on draft.

On Beer Advocate the categories of quality are Awful, Poor, ok, good, outstanding, and exceptional depending on its score. Each category has a point range of 10 before it can rise into a new one. This beer has a score of 67 which is on the top side of POOR. This beer is not poor by any means and it should be on the high end of OK and possibly the bottom side of good. This beer is easy to drink and doesnt have many negatives that I can think of. A poor beer to me is something like Icehouse or Natural Light and all it's Anhieser Busch cousins. It's poor and awful. Besides it's an import beer that has been around since 1876. . The recipe has been long mastered. I just think this beer deserves more than a Poor rating

Bottle dated 12/9/24 into pint glass. Pours a clear yellow with a decent bright white head. Good lacing. Quite malty, but with a hint of hops. Sweet-ish. Finish is malty and sweet. Overall, a little better than what you'd expect from an adjunct lager.

Its looks, after decantering the entire contents from a brown twelve ounce bottle, are mildly surprising. With "de malta y arroz" on the label, a little more malt in the appearance could be expected. Instead, this looks just like the typical mass produced American adjunct lager, with its nearly crystal clear lightly amber color and modest white head. It smells like one, too. There's just a mild dose of hops with a mildly sweet backbone that definitely includes rice. But, it drinks a little better than those. The hoppy bite, perhaps in a piney way, is more than you can get from the typical mass commercial breweries. It's not overly impressive, but the malt inclusion brings just a little more flavor and body than most mass produced beers. Almost unbelievably, this provides some of the richest examples of glass lacing across all categories, attesting to its body. For a lager, this is close to amazing. It's even above average for a European lager. Unspectacular, yet tasty and very drinkable, don't underestimate this one.

Pours dark golden with a nice head that gradually dissipates. Nice alace on the glass. Taste is well balanced, not too sweet or bitter. Slight breadiness and nice malty undertones. Smooth aftertaste with no lingering hops bitterness. Very easy to drink and refreshing on a hot day.

I am not the biggest fan of lagers, as I find many of them are just too bland. This one, however, is a good one. It is smooth, crisp, refreshing, and tasty. It has notes of sweet graham cracker in the taste, but it does not overdo it. The hops are nicely spicy and moderately bitter. The mouthfeel has a very slight creaminess to it, and the beer finishes somewhat dry. I would not call this a world class beer, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 across the board.

On tap at Bar Isabel in Toronto, Ontario.
This one pours a fairly light golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells semi-yeasty, with wheat, and a touch of citrus.
There’s not a whole lot to this, but I’m still happy to have tried it. It seems like something that is not intended to be completely dissected – it’s intended to be drunk in hot weather in Spain. I drank it in cold weather in Toronto, so maybe that’s the problem.
This is light bodied, clean, crisp, and very drinkable.
I understand the appeal of this, but it certainly wasn’t my favorite.
