It has a nice centimeter of foamy head on top of a clear, medium-dark amber beer.

The aroma is quite strong and malty, with a hint of caramel in the background.

The flavour is slightly sweet. The alcohol comes through quite noticeably, and it has a kind of breakfast cereal aftertaste.

Overall, this is an okay offering if you're looking for a strong beer. I wouldn't seek it out back home though... It's probably pretty expensive.

7.2% confirmed. Can acquired in Ibiza, Spain. Reviewed from notes taken April 2011. Can was served into a Guinness pint glass.

A: Pours a four finger creamy head of fair thickness and decent retention. Colour is a copper-yellow. Good head for the ABV.

Sm: Very malty, but light in strength overall.

T: A malty body with hints of barley hither and thither. Poorly built but surprisingly fairly balanced for a crappy Spanish macrolager. A bit of cream on the open is the most pleasant aspect of the beer, but the malt doesn't carry through the refreshing feel established by the cream, which is a disappointment. Way too malty. It doesn't taste like alcohol, which is impressive considering the lack of flavour.

Mf: Smooth and light. Warm from the alcohol, an unpleasant effect in the throat. If you were on the fringe of vomiting, a sip of this would surely tip you into the red zone.

Dr: Extremely cheap and high ABV, but low quality. Probably the best beer in Ibiza hands-down for getting knackered, but it's far from great. That said, of all the beers I remember having in Ibiza, this one sticks out for its (relative) drinkability. Just don't get it in the canned version; stick to the bottles.

Pale brass with loose white froth that flees fast but rims.
Faint caramel popcorn with a bit of earthy, spice hops.
Thick honey on country loaf with a big grassy hit.
Papery finish and astringent linger. Medium, chewy, some burn.

Maize and rice in the ingredients; only 18% barley, which ain’t good. It does a passable job of throwing the shapes of a true marzen. But it is a bit cheap and flimsy on the linger – crunchy autumn leaves come to mind. There are far worse double malts.

Bought a bottle of this at a Spanish restaurant in the Metropolitan building of the Ikebukuro station in Tokyo. I bought it for the simple fact that it was the darkest and most expensive beer they had bottles of. It was my first Spanish beer, so I had no idea what to expect. However, I was blown away by how tasty this brew was. It is a dark brew with a nice white head that retains its shape throughout its life. The smell overwhelmed me in a good way as I poured it into the glass. Very spicy and herbal in a way that obviously suits Spanish cuisine. The mouthfeel was a bit weak considering the appearance and the scent of the brew. However, I was overall pleased with this random selection. I get the impression that many other Spanish beers are not in this fashion, and looking at how others ranked this beer, I feel I am out of the popular consensus. Regardless, I loved this brew and I would recommend it if you see it around.
