Poured from 12.7 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: translucent straw colored with thin, fizzy head.

Smell: slightly sweet with light hop aroma. Not much complexity.

Taste: pretty mild all-round. Nice shot of bitterness at the end which I like.

Mouthfeel: light body with a good bit of carbonation, which in this style is appropriate.

Drinkability: this is a good lager and it goes down smooth.

Just drank straight out of the bottle.

As others have said it's a fairly standard lager similar to a Carlsberg.

Nothing substantial in the way of aroma.

Taste is balanced, but more malt than hops. Very low on the bitterness.

Mouthfeel is good. Does not linger very long, but a fair session beer.

Overall, I think you could drink a good 4-6 of these without much complaints. Not very complex, but a very drinkable lager.

A: Pours a pale golden color with a small head that fades to no real lacing.

S: Mild aroma of malt sweetness and grain. not bad, just a bit bland.

T: Taste of some malt sweetness and grain. There is a mild bitterness and a fairly clean finish.

F: Light body, low carbonation, pretty boring.

O: Not a bad beer, just reminds me of a typical Euro Lager. Non-offensive probably best on a hot summer day.

look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance - Pours a pale golden straw with a half finger width of bubbly white head.

Smell - Nice malts, hint of apple (actual fruit, not apple juice), touch of grassy grains. Unique from other euro pale lagers.

Taste - Crisp refreshing flavours of malts, grains, and light fruitiness. Very pleasant and once again, unique from other euro pale lagers.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp and dry finish.

Overall - A refreshing euro pale lager from Coopers. Excellent malt flavours made this stand out from others in the style. I could see this as a session brew, especially on a hot Aussie beach. Worth giving a try.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

appearance - 3.5/5 - Very light orange color. It pours with 1 1/2 fingers of white head that disappears pretty quickly.

smell - 3/5 - A hint plus of sweetness is all I can discern.

taste - 3.5/5 - Light sweetness balanced with a very moderate amount of hops.

mouthfeel - 4/5 - Fairly high level of carbonation is almost the highlight of this beer. That is to say, it somehow makes up for the lightness of it.

overall - 3.5/5 - Better than your average American big business lager, but still not for me.

Hmmm - I am submitting a review as drunk-from-can which I would not normally choose to do. However, I didn't enjoy the can, so doubt I will be buying the bottled lager rather than their Pale or Sparkling as a summer session beer.

Had at a concert, after a Heineken can.

The two styles are the same, sadly the Coopers came across as similarly malt-driven, but with extra dough notes, which didn;t help and a really watery mouthfeel.

Not that great, there ARE a lot of beers out there, aren't there?.

Poured a 2 1/2" white soap suds head which faded fast. Clear light straw yellow color. Smells of corn and grass and is utterly BMC to me. Taste matches the smell. There's slightly a little more hops to it than an American lager version but truly if you swap An American's beer for this one in a blind taste test I don't think most people would notice the difference.

Coopers don't fail me now. Well I guess it's coming to this: I'm running out of Coopers beers to review. It's been a real milestone for me to review my old favourites from the brewery I've grown dear to over the years and I'm really trying to lengthen the inevitable (the beers I've got left). I'm sure the light will be the one I review last. Anyway lets see how the Coopers offering of an Aussie lager stacks up against the rest.

Poured from a 375ml stubbie into a 500ml Stein glass.

A: A clear bodied Coopers!? What is the world coming to? The body presents golden with a thin "no centimeter" white lacing head.

S: Sweet malts with a slight adjunct lager corn aroma, followed by grassy hops... overall sweet but nothing to write home about.

T: A very clean and crisp lager. The typical malt grain flavours are there with a back note of bitter hops (minimal back note that is). The corn and bread flavours are ever present and the finish is slightly dry. It's probably the most European styled lager I've come across in Australia. It is on the bland side but then again most lagers are.

M: Smoother than most other Aussie lagers; mid to low carbonation. The body is a little watery too, but this is common and expected in a lager.

D: Me + a hot day + Coopers lager = A sated man. Yep I could easily picture myself in a hot tin shed during summer knocking back a few of these while building myself a time machine so I can go back in time and rob a bank and give "past me" a huge pile of cash and the schematics for a working time machine. Compared to the macro Aussie lagers (VB, XXXX, Tooheys New, etc...) it's ace, and I can see no reason why it's not in every pub. Compared to European lagers though it's a little fish in a big pond.

Food match: I'm having a "chicken" (inverted commas because it's really faux chicken) burger, and I would pair this beer with a "chicken" or real chicken burger any day of the week... except Friday- that's "fish" day.
