12oz. bottle poured into a tulip.

(A)- Pours a hazy pale golden yellow color. Produced a surprisingly large white head that dissipated quickly. Some lacing left behind.

(S)- A nice soft aroma of honey wheat. Bits of lightly spicy biscuit with an underlying tartness.

(T)- This has a really nice sourness throughout. Hints of wheat, lemon rind, biscuit, and honey.

(M)- A nicely crisp carbonation level. A nice light balance to it as well with subtle tart fruit and the wheat beer base.

(O)- Its definitely a nice Berliner. Fairly easy to find in the area and not overly expensive. Not earth changing for the style, but really no complaints.

poured into Duvel tulip.

Appearance: light straw yellow bodied beer with 2 fingers of white head. It got some staying power too.

Smell: sour mash. tart. wheat. white grape juice. honey.

Taste: mild lemon tartness. Some white grape juice that adds a touch of sweetness. Malt profile is like fresh baked buttermilk bicuits. Hint of honey sweetness in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with moderate carbonation. crisp and it drinks just like its water. semidry finish.

Overall: Nice berliner weissbeir. nothing crazy, but outstanding drinkability. great summer beer.

11.2 oz bottle that cost $4.69, yowza! Very light yellow color, ok head. Aroma is tart, peach almost, nice. Flavor is tart, peaches, honey, malt, quite good. Way, way too easy to drink, I killed my glass in under ten minutes. Its really too bad the style is hard to find and expensive, this would get swilled during the summertimes.

an interesting Berliner, lower abv than ive seen in one of these. the pour looks like lemonade, really pale yellow, almost white really, with a lot of haze and not much head. the nose is very lemony, but also a little more wheat malt to this than I expected based on the color, also a touch of honey sweetness apparently to counteract the intense acidic and citrus bitterness. the flavor doesn't really hold onto much of that malt character or the sweetness, maybe just a touch of floral perfume essence amidst the piquant sour flavor. lemon zest and acid in the finish, typical of the style. its a very good version, but it comes through a little thin, even for this genre, also soda like carbonation may be a little over the top, still, the beer is yummy and refreshing, I will enjoy this even more come summer weather, which has to be about due right? I think the gose from these guys was a bit more refined, but both are solid choices if you can find them.

A bottle, probably smaller than the US 12 oz; I didn't check for that or freshness info. Handed to me with a standard nonic pint glass.

Poured a very lite yellow, with some white stick. Smell was very tart and citrusy, giving a very "unassuming" presence. First sip was fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Not unexpected at all, and a few sips in, I could detect it lying on a gentle, wheaty base. This proved enough contrast to make it a nice-tasting drinker.

Overall, super-easy to drink, and given the abv, you could make a night of these. If I ever see these for sale around me (I haven't yet..), I would buy a case.

330mL bottle poured into a tasting glass, split with 2 buddies

A pale, fairly clear, golden yellow color with a small white cap that fell to some medium sized bubbles atop the liquid.

Fairly unique nose. Hints of sulfur, band aids, lactic acid, sourdough bread, and tart lemons, predominantly. There was an odd underlying aroma that gave off hints of raisins and figs.

Lactic notes jump a bit more on the palate than the nose. Tart lemons, band aid funk, and sourdough through the middle. Clean wheat with lactic tartness in the finish.

Light body, strong carbonation. A little rough around the edges.

Not the cleanest Berliner. Fairly sharp and acidic at every turn, but it definitely packs a little punch.

For a warmish January night this beer hit the spot.
A pale, clear golden color...very light. Small head that settled to a thin layer.

Aroma is sharp and tangy. Lemon and some pineapple. Pear skin and white grape.

Just shy of a sour beer, which is what it's suppose to be. The pear is more of a pear skin. Lemon zest and orange rind come and go. Pronounced pineapple with some grapefruit. Tart for sure.

This beer is easy to drink, and at 3abv that's a welcomed sign. Should have this one again on a hot summer day. Very nice, maybe I'll try it with some sort of syrup next time

Poured from 330mL bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: light silvery-golden hue with a touch of haze and a very strong effervescence. Head is a thick finger of creamy white foam. Looks like a refreshing brew, as it should!

Smell: sweet, wheaty malt with a hint of sour grain. Not bad, and stylistically appropriate, but I feel like it lacks finesse.

Taste: quite sour right up front with a very light wheaty flavor underneath. Finishes up pretty sour. Light, as the low ABV would suggest, but it kind of lacks balance to the pretty-massive sourness.

Mouthfeel: light body with a good carbonation and a surprisingly robust creaminess. I like a good creaminess in such a light-bodied beer.

Overall: lacks balance, but a very tart and refreshing beer in general. I like sour beers, and this is a good take on the style.

One of the most foul looking brews I've ever seen. Flat, no head, no bubbles, and the color of urine.

Lemon, Bready, crystal malt. not sweet. tartness

Bitter, dry, tart, lemony, bready, light carbonation, intriguing sweetness, lingering "off flavored" dry after taste, yeasty.

Flavor is much better than appearance, thank goodness.. It's a decent BWeiss, but no where near the best or top. Recommended, but at $5/12oz...think twice.

Pours very pale straw with a quickly fading head.
Nose shows lemon with a suggestion of tartness to follow along with some wheat and a briny character.
Pleasant wheat presents itself as a flavour along with a little malt before lemon and a full-on acidic bite rushes through. Dies down very quickly though. Very refreshing.
Could use more carbonation, although the sourness does a good job of creating a prickling sensation anyway...

Its pale yellow body is made cloudy by the yeast that's been left at the bottom of the bottle and sports a lively amount of carbonation, coming in both small and large bubbles. A finger's worth of clean white head rests on top. Only dots of watery lace are left behind. It's not the most intriguing looking beer but that comes with the style.

The nose is surprisingly sweet. Some sort of artificial syrup comes to mind which easily matches the tart, slightly sour and acidic character of this Berliner Weisse. A slight phenolic character, coming in the form of band-aid adds some much needed complexity to the nose. I like this style as tart as can be and based on the nose, I'm not sure it will deliver.

Although it's not the most tart Berliner I've had, it does pack a nice punch. Acetic acid plants itself on every corner of the palate, drying it out as it moves forward. Lemon peel with a sweet edge is the best way I can descrive the tartness. A pinch of lime juice is thrown in there as well. The finish brings a very pleasant sweet and subtley rich bready character that sits on the front of the tongue as the tartness continues in the background.

One of my favorite qualities of the style is its light, crisp, tingly feel that is accentuated by its citric tartness and this one has all of the above. A touch more carbonation would make the feel near perfect.

A decent interpretation of the style and a good intro into sours. I'd buy this again only if it was the only Berliner Weisse on the shelf. With that being said, I can imagine the Brett L version of this being fantastic.
