Pours a nice deep black with some red or brown when struck by light. Nice medium thin body with an energetic carbonation forms a nice head.
Smell is great notes of coffee, chocolate, and more roasted grain notes. Not much hops going on here.
Taste is roasty and wonderful. Dry character and clean on the finish.
Mouthfeel is rounded out nicely but thin enough to be refreshing and easy to drink.
My favorite offering at the TBBC.

First had: on tap at the brewpub in Tampa
Dark brown-black pour, with a small khaki-colored head; moderate retention and lacing. Roasty aroma, dark malts and coffee. No surprises here. Taste of dark roasty malts, cocoa powder, mild earthy hop notes. Medium body. Pretty basic, sub-homebrewy, and a bit bland overall. Sample-worthy, but nothing more (sums up about all TBBC beers).

Dark brown, almost black with two finger tan head, nice retention, and sea foam lacing.
The aroma is balanced with roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, dark sugars, molasis and brown sugar with vanilla hints and earthy notes.
The flavor is nicely balanced with coffee and chocolate notes, brown sugar and a nice bittering balance.
Prickly, medium bodied, and smooth. Slightly overcarbonated for the style.
Overall, very easy drinking, sessionable porter

On-tap at the brewpub.
A - pours a jet black with an off-white head.
S - roasted malts, coffee, and brown sugar.
T - A great combination of roasty flavors, with dark coffee, some nuttiness, molasses, and anise. The level of sweetness is balanced by the hops. One of the better porters I've had.
M - fairly prickly carbonation. Body is not too heavy, which is nice.
Overall - one of the best porters I've had, and probably in my top five. Well done.

Poured on-tap at the Tampa Bay Brewing Co brewery in Ybor City. The beer was served in a pint glass, and it pours a dark, deep brown/black color with ruby highlights and a thin film of head. Roasted coffee and light molasses aromas, with a slight overall roasting character. The flavors are dark roasted coffee with slight smoking and toasting. The beer has nutty sweet undertones, and a slight bittering that balances everything very well. Smooth and mid-bodied, with a dry-roasted aftertaste. The finish is a little dry, but aromatic of roasted coffee grounds and sweet dark chocolate. Good lacing on the glass. Tasty beer!
