Pretty much the only beer spot in this part of Oregon, so naturally, this is where we end up while visiting family in the area.
Nice looking building building both on the inside and out, an old train station converted into a brewpub. As i understand it this is one of the few McMenamin's that still brews beer on premises which is always nice.
Service was good, but pretty slow, our server had a 20+ table to handle along with ours and a few others. I ordered the beer sampler because I'd never had a beer from any Mcmenamin's before. Half the beers were middle of the road a couple were disappointing and a couple were pretty good. Overall pretty average beers.
The food was really good, I got some sort of fish sandwich which was very tasty.
A good stop, I definitely will come back when I visit the Grandparents again in OR.

This was close to my customer’s office, so I was glad he made the suggestion.
As others have noted, nicely refurbished train depot that still has three or so working rail lines adjacent to the rear of the building.
They kept lots of the original details and décor, note the lighting, coat hooks, bathroom etc. I must say, it is well done and a cool place to have a beer and some food.
Speaking of food, it was really good. Be sure and try the house soups. I had a peanut chicken one and my customer had the tomato blue cheese bisque. Both were outstanding. We also liked the entrees (burgers, fish and chips).
They had 9 house beers to choose from. I have no complaints there. I would like to see maybe a few more seasonal offerings or a sour.

They actually have 10 beers on tap-- A stout on nitro, Thielson Porter, an IPA, Wheat, Golden, a blackberry rye-wheat, and old standbys Copper Moon, Hammerhead, Terminator Stout, and Ruby. I have not had McMenamins beers for a few years and I think they've improved.
The salmon was really good-- both the platter and the salmon burger, a nice slab on a bun which is a really good deal. The popular line-up of other burgers seemed popular. Service was brisk but attentive and prompt. We sat outside, perfect on a summer evening. The Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad treated us to a couple of run-bys by their blue locomotives, and then a long train just a few feet from our table. But it's a shortline, so that's not a frequent occurrence.
The station is full of interesting memorabilia. This place is well worth a visit and if you're traveling up the interstate, the Holiday Inn Express looking over the river is the place to stay.

My favorite brewery chain in Oregon. Food is delicious and the beer selection, variety and quality is outstanding. It's also good for families and the prices are very doable. Service is a little slow though, but the employees are usually cheerful and friendly, and very diligent in making sure your mug is always full. Our High School reunions and birthday parties are always held in one of them. Highly recommended.

Visited multiple times over the years.
Having grown up in Douglas County, as close to craft beer wasteland as there is in Oregon, the opening of a McMenamin's outpost was a relative occasion for rejoicing. Located in beautiful downtown Roseburg, the building is a converted railroad terminal building and still retains some of the charm of a previous era with period specific memorabilia. The beer is the usual McMenamin's products, nothing special there, and the food is the same you'd enjoy at any other outpost. Service is ok. This place is nothing special, but there's nothing else between Eugene and Medford area worth stopping for, so if you are traveling through the area this place makes a little sense.

Have been here a few times, most recently on a warm Friday afternoon in June.
This particular McM version is located in an old railroad station (hence the name), and is right next to an active railroad track. It's pretty much your typical McM establishment, with the usual pub grub and standard line-up of beers. They did a good job with the Olympic Club "wings" the afternoon I was there, and the IPA was very satisfying. While there's nothing earth shattering about the quality of the beer or the food here, both are more then adequate. Service was fine the day I there, consisting of a tatooed young lady sporting a mow-hawk. Sort of thought that kind of thing had gone out of style, but whatever. She did a competent job, especially as I got the impression she was fairly new.
This is a nice place, one that is a very welcome oasis in this part of Oregon. I'll surely visit again....

Since I am also into trains this is a great place to stop on my annual trips down I-5 to visit my mother. Just about the right distance from the Valley to stop and have lunch. Or coming up from Southern Oregon it makes a good break in the travel.
A small bar and large train station dining room with a couple of private rooms if you need to have a meeting. All kinds of hanging lights and old train station pictures give this place visual interest. They have an outdoor seating area on the west side of their building. On a hot day it can be a little much for us coastal folks. Folks from California or Southern Oregon probably would not notice.
They have the typical McMenamins brews and ususally have nearby brewery product as guest taps.
Staff is attentative and you can't beat the signature McMenamins fries.

My family & I had dinner here one evening in August 2002 while vacationing in Oregon.
McMenamin's is a chain of brewpubs in Oregon. They tend to take over an empty historic building (in this case a train station). In this case, and w/ each of the McMenamin's I've been to, they do a pretty good job as a brewpub. The beer is well above average; it isn't world class, but it's far superior to the normal stuff you see in the supermarkets. The food is usually quite good and they have a varied menu to please most tastes.
This is a family-friendly place. So, if you're going out to dinner w/ the spouse & kids, McMenamin's is a good choice.
