Went here while visiting my friend who is local to Oswego. He took me here because he knows I appreciate beer and they make their own, so...
A- Cool looing place. Everything has a kind of knights and mideval feel. Some standard macros on tap, some micros, and a bunch of their own.
Q- I had the scotch ale and the porter. Both were great craft beers. Rich, flavorful, lots of depth and character. Great quality.
S- Served and refilled quickly. Good.
S- Better than your standard bar for choices.
Overall this place is really cool. I was going to stay for a steak but I was told that the food is really expensive and not that great. Oh well, beer was good.

A: I love the atmosphere in King Arthur's. Usually the place is very relaxed. They have have Sirius Radio and televisions but they never over power your conversation. During the Spring and Summer you can head outside and enjoy a beer.
Q&Ser: The quality and service is very good. Usually your pint never stays empty for long. However, there have been times when I have waited ten to fifteen minutes for a drink and there were no more than ten people in the place.
Sel: Their selection is average, usually containing the same brews year round. They have all the standards; IPA, Stout, Wheat. A Lager has been absent from their selection for a long time. They do not really change up the selection much. Not many seasonals except for an Oktoberfest and a pumpkin. None of the beers are outstanding, but at the same time you will not be disappointed they are in your glass.
F: The wings are a must try, but the french onion soup is by far the best thing on the menu.
V: If you miss out on happy hour you could end up spending a fair amount.

When you saw the name, did you immediately think, "jousting"? Yeah, me too. That's why one night out of Syracuse, instead of driving an hour west to my hotel in Rochester, I drove an hour north to (affectionately) "the mistake on the lake" Oswego for dinner. Oh, I still went to Rochester, just the real looong way around. Interstate becomes a lesser highway becomes a state route winding down through small towns until it ends near the mouth of the Oswego River. Just over the bridge there is King Arthur's, which seems strangely Pythonesque somehow as I say it aloud. "Stop! Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see..."
Massive, prominent 1850's building, with the brewpub ruling the entire ground floor, and tied hotelishness upstairs. Entering through a center vestibule, you've got an elevator to somewhere front and center, and doorways left to the dining room and right to the bar. I opted for the, yeah, and parked myself there. A formica topped, half a hex shaped bar seating a baker's dozen sits against the back wall. The wood overhead unit traces the bar all around. It's decorated with brewery & beer signage to both sides of an inlayed center suit of armor head and knights on horseback figurines, the whole thing's lined with faux spruce & white strung Xmas lighting. Pyramidy tiered booze on the bar back counter, next to an access reach through window to the kitchen behind it. Wines & a dozen macros in glass front coolers below the bar, and a rack unit on the end with more of the same & glassware, plus stemmed glassware hanging from slat rackage above. Small mounted TV's above the bar and a larger one over the corner seating. Brown sponge painted walls, dark wood pieces, and large windows with brewery neons on the front wall below stained glass crown & crest panels. 5 bar tables up front and a pair of booths on the end. Drop chandeliers in front window, mounted yellowy wall lamps, inlayed spots and ceiling fans. Plants on sills in the front windows below drop chandeliers, and then mounted yellowy wall lamps, inlayed spots and ceiling fans. Gas pretend fireplace in the front corner forward a nook on the end with electronic darts. Framed black & white pics of old Oswego and the building you're sitting in (There used to be an underground railroad station in the basement when the train came through, you know).
Around the other side, a large room holds nearly a dozen and a half tables and booths divvied into 2 sections. Big windows on 2 walls of this corner room, and the lauter tun and brew kettles behind glass on the inside wall (Apparently, the fermenters are in the basement). In the center of the room, there's a large raised center ceiling circular "knights of the round table" piece. But no jousting.
Back at the bar, rounded copper towers on both cornered ends of the bar with 6 handles each pouring house beers only, and there's only 4 of them. Oh sure, they claim they usually pour 7-8 beers, but they ran out in anticipation of my arrival. The sampler gave me 5 beers, I got to double up on one because, yeah. The Camelot Cream Ale was light, crisp; the Bridge Street Wheat, filtered, light straw color, sadly served with a chunk of orange; the Oatmeal Stout, a brown ale color, slight roastiness; the American Pale Ale, surprisingly hoppy, Casacade, the best of the lot.
Fun, playful crowd, we played bar games and tricks, I was able to answer some of the more difficult ones. (How do I know so much about swallows? Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know). I participated. I belonged.
They told me the soup of jour was Beef Vegetable, yes, let me get a bowl please. Digging in, I thought, "Damn, there's a lot of mushroom going on here". I asked again, and "Oh, yeah, the soup is Beef & Portabella", (like "vegetable, mushroom, same thing"), and I hate Portabella (no trip, no boom), and it ain't no damn vegetable, but still, it was a kickass bowl of soup. And 10 wings mild = hot to me. Fuck. Everyone's eating hot wings here. I melted into a small puddle on the floor, don't know if anyone noticed.
Food was good, service too, beers weren't bad although I would've liked to have seen more than 4 beers on. I expected more King Arthur silliness (and jousting) and was nicely surprised to not find it as such.

Cheers: Nice bar set up. Classy joint to keep the townies out. Sweet drink prices. Food is chef prepared and presentation/ quality clearly reflect it. Soups are top of the line. The dining area is appointed with minimal Middle Ages knick-knacks. Comfortable booths. Cool carpet. Decent outdoor seating. Sometimes grill dogs out front. Bartender let me use the phone. Also trusted us with his lighter. Good line up of house taps. Low townie factor. Bartender hooked us up with free house chips, which are next to Harvey's Christmas Ale in greatness.
Jeers: Some of the tap handles are not labeled. They have pieces of paper taped to them. No signs that point the way to the potty. Don't seem to push or promote their beers on dining customers. Waitress was excellent, but she did not know much about the beers. I would advise bringing samples to a table. Need to serve samples of house beer when people buy a *gasp* Bud, Coors Light, or that "fancy import" Blue.
