Poured from a wire and cork 750 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Mahogany color with a huge foamy off white head that lingers and settles into fluffy cloud on a small dense head. Lacing is really nice.

Smell is dark Belgian classic. Candied fruit,maybe brandied fruit, sweet malt, light phenols, yeasty goodness.

Taste is spectacular. Sweet malt with practically no hop. Candied fruit maybe stewed prunes. Raises, slight banana. Great dark Belgian tastes. The alcohol is hidden but definitely there.

Mouthfeel starts with maybe too much carbonation but, one might imagine, it smoothes out as it warms. Really nice.

Overall, this may be my favorite dark Belgian. Great beer.
