Visited Ryan & Casey on 6/21/08 after starting a thread re: Liquor Stores on the 91N corridor on the way to Brattleboro, VT. Roughly 5 minutes off the exit, Ryan & Casey showcased an excellent selection of regionals (People's Pint, Rock Art, Paper City) and a diverse selection of craft brews from America, Belgium and the UK. I was pressed for time, but noticed 3 or 4 Jolly Pumpkin's & Lost Abbey brews, respectively, as well as DFH, Middle Ages, Unibroue (quite a generous selection), Southern Tier, Ommegang, some Lost Coast, etc. Wish I had more time to peruse, but it was warm and I had my dogs with me. Service was okay. I didn't really ask for help, but had a pleasant conversation with the cashier as I rung out. Also, the Green River brewfest was going on right behind the store and they seemed to be neck deep in set-up. Definitely plan on making this a planned stop on my future trips to Brattleboro.

I was in Greenfield for Cider Days and visited Ryan & Casey's for a cider tasting. The store maximizes its space and is very well organized. The back part of the store is where all the craft beer coolers and shelf beers (singles, six packs and cases) are stored. The front part has ciders, meads and spirits while to far side is wine.
The craft beer selection is very good with lots of local, national and international brands. It seems that if a beer is distributed to the area Ryan & Casey would carry it. Service was terrific. While holding a couple of bombers one of the clerks brought me a box to hold the beers. After browsing the aisle for several minutes I ended up filling the box! Luckily I didn't break the bank when it came time to purchase all the beers. Prices were about the same or a little lower for comparable beers in the Boston area.
The outside of the store is rather unassuming and looks like the kind of place that only sells Bud and Coors. Don't be fooled. Stop in and check out the terrific selection.

Drop by here every few weeks, and attended their great beer festival in mid-June.
The beer is in the back third of the store. A long U of coolers and a couple of enormous islands of stacked sixpacks, faced on the other side by a very long rack of bombers and 750s.
Excellent selection, better than Liquor 44 in the bigger town of Northampton or the college town of Amherst, with the possible exception of the latter's Spirit Haus. . R&C clearly puts considerable effort into having a selection which most would find impressive. Prices are average with some good sales and the best price on local bombers in the entire Pioneer valley.
Easy to make a mixed six if you either ask at the counter for an empty carton, bring your own or scrounge one from the partials atop the islands or in the coolers. Easy too to browse since the beer section is isolated from the main foot traffic, though it can get cramped in the narrow aisles if more than one or two browsers are active, and the beer section is evidently on the Main Employee Express Route from the front of the store to the storage room behind the beer and back.
Go for the selection, and enjoy!

I used to live just across the street from here 5 years ago.
The selection then was better than most places are today.
This place sets the bar pretty high.
The only down side is that they are always playing country music in there.
IMHO this is a Beer Mecca.

amazing selection of fine brews, this is the closest GREAT beer store to where I live and it sure deliver's a wonderful array of breweries, with plenty of local brews, and stuff I have not seen in this region. can's, bombers etc... I travel far and wide to find good beer and this little gen is right around the corner (practically). There's also another beer store right across the street but i was soo pleased with this store I didn't even walk in to look. the fine Peoples pint is right around the corner as well!!

Whenever traveling through the I-91 corridor this is a must stop. Awesome store only a short ride off I-91 exit 26 just short of downtown Greenfield. Look for the awesome retro neon sign, its a can't miss.
Being from CT the selection in Mass can't be beat and the same is true at Ryan & Casey. Founders, Troegs, Pretty Things, Port, The Bruery, Green Flash and Berkshire Brewing (full line) are some of the breweries that are well represented along with a great deal of local Mass beers. There is a whole wall of coolers filled with brews with the first 4 or 5 coolers filled only with bombers. On the other wall are shelves filled with more warm domestic craft bombers and Import 750's. Stacked on the floor in between the cooler wall and shelved wall is what I call their "Stockroom". This area is where they keep the craft cases before they restock the coolers and shelves. Often times it only contains duplicates of whats on the shelf but that is not always true. Some real gems can be found here especially if they have had a recent delivery. Another location to find beer is behind the counter this is where they keep beers that are in short supply and in high demand. Prices seem to be average.
The staff is great and always willing to help if you ask and sometimes even approach you if you are looking overwhelmed, which happens often, but are never bothersome. They also utilize Facebook rather well updating often when anticipated beers hit their shelves.
Overall this is my favorite Western Mass store.

Went to their beerfest today actually, very sweet and for $20 it was a great deal. Check that out for sure if you have the chance.
Ryan and Casey's is a place you could easily cruise right by without giving a second thought to, when in fact this is a hell of a great beer store.
In the back you'll find a bunch of coolers filled with bombers and sixers as well as tons of warm stuff right out in the middle of the back of the store. You can break up singles from both the cooler and from the warm stuff, a HUGE plus since there aren't many places in the area that allow you to do that.
Plenty of good stuff, today I saw Bruery Rue Saison, Schlafly Bourbon Barrell Impy Stout (never seen it before in MA), Sah'tea from Dogfish Head, plenty of Lagunitas and Founders as well as Oskar Blues, Victory and all the local stuff (BBC, Pretty Things etc).
Service is great, the staff are super friendly and willing to try and help with anything...even if they don't always know the answer.
Definitely a place with reasonable prices and well worth a half hour drive up from N'hampton area or down from B'boro, VT.
Great job on the beerfest! I'll be back next year for sure!

Ryan & Casey is located probably half a mile from the People's Pint, and about 10 minutes north of the Berkshire Brewing Company. Beer, liquor, and wine is racked on the walls, stacked on the floor, and piled into coolers everywhere. The selection is top notch, especially considering the fact the store serves a relatively small community. Belgians, micros, macros, locals, they've got it all. And, if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll get it.
Also of note, they've been hosting brew festivals for the last several years. Each time it gets a little bigger, a little better, with plenty of vendors, food, live music, cigars, etc.
