Notes:
Labatt Blue Light was introduced in 1983 as a lower-alcohol, lower-calorie version of Canada’s most popular brand. Blue Light uses specially selected North American aromatic hops and the same strain of lager yeast as the one used to produce Labatt Blue. The result is a crisp, clean and delicately balanced beer, with a slight sweetness and citrus-like hop character.

Consumed the only way it should be, cold out of somebodies hockey bag, in the dressing room between games.
Pours a clear corny yellow, straw, thin white head forms, quickly settles to nothing, looks pretty vile.
Smell is weak, corn, some honey notes, light floral, sugary, water, not very good.
Taste is similar, almost no flavour, corn, water, a bit sweet but otherwise virtually tasteless.
Mouthfeel is light bodied, medium carbonation, goes down easy. I feel like this was hydrating me. As macro light swill goes, this wasn't the worst I've ever had.

I'm not even gonna break down each catagory. Everything that could go wrong with a beer is present in LBL. It tastes bad, smells a little like something spoiled? I dont even know what, but the taste is yucky. How could a respectable brewer put this product on the shelves? Light beer fiends that don't belong to BA probably love this stuff. They think it saves calories so they immediately buy it and pretend to like it becuase they think its healthy. Overall, I'd buy keystone light over this any day of the week, which says a lot about how i feel about LBL.

Still playing with CANs. CAN you dig it? I CAN!
It began with a finger of bone-white head, but it quickly lapsed into wisps. Color was a pale straw-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose was lightly sweet with cereal. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium with a light, lager sweetness on the tongue. Finish was light, airy, mildly sweet. Ho freakin' hum! I feel like I am drinking the same beer in a CAN over and over with only the label as any change. Doesn't anybody have any imagination? No wonder people could not identify their "favorite" brand in "Beer Wars" - it's all the same! NOT impressed!

A- Pale watery yellow with a light one finger head that melts away quickly. No lacing.
S- Grainy, rice, subtle zest smell.
T- Watered down grain. Not much more to talk about here.
M- Extremely light and thin. Similar to drinking water. Little carbonation.
D- You could drink this like water if you wanted to tie one on. No other reason to drink this.

I thought maybe this could be the saving grace for the Labatt name in my book....I was wrong
Appearance- Even worse than it's "full-bodied" counterpart. A completely white initial head that flat lines in under 2 minutes. Typical golden Pilsner color.
Smell- Pungent, but nothing going on what so ever.
Taste- Awful, flavorless and watery. A complete waste of time. I would't play beer pong with this.
Mouthfeel- Watery with no substance. If it wasn't for the fact that my mouth felt liquid, I would have never known I was drinking a beer
Drinkability- Null and Void

[24 oz. can at 44F]
Labatt Blue Light is a very clear, very pale yellow lager with a fluffy white head. It has a faint aroma of corn and possibly lemon. It is light bodied, bubbly and watery with a reasonably crisp finish. There is not much flavor; notes of light grain and corn with a slightly lemony aftertaste. I just wanted to see why people always throw these cans in my yard. Now I understand.

This came out of the 710 ml. can with the scenic new design. Can no. 1-159-8-1853D. Labatt may have redesigned the can for the American market but it hasn't changed this recipe. It pours golden with short-lived whte head and a lot of cabonation. Aroma of corn, wheat, and stale malts. Watery. Tastes flat.

can - 12 oz
Appearance - Very thin head with many bubbles. Light golden color.
Aroma - Slight corn aroma.
Taste - Semi-sweet taste.
- Mouthfeel - Feels good going down, easy to drink with very little aftertaste.
- Drinkability - The stereotypical light beer. Very good for drinking lots of, say at college.

12 oz can
Labatt Blue Light poured a very pale yellow color with "tons" of carbonation, little head and no lacing. Watery body with very [very] low malt flavor and dry body. Very low flavor over all. After all this is a light lager! Another brew that should be consumed cold.
[Macro] Light Lager style is my least favorite style of beer. Labatt Blue Light is not the best light beer or the worst one either.

Hmmm.... Blue... And Blue light... people argue over which is better... The lesser of two evils in my opinion...
A- Faint yellow liquid with a small white head... no retention... Very clear... highly carbonated
S- Faint Labatt Sour corn smell... Yeasty... slightly metallic...
T- Same Blue taste... just more watered down... The metallic corn dominates... Sparse malt peeks in for a quick hello and then disappears immediately. Ugh... i wish i could type more about the taste, but it's so one dimensional.
M-LIGHT... over carbonated... metallic bite.
D-Ugh... um, this is DECENT if you're playing beer pong or something... Don't get it confused for something you actually want to taste though.

Not a huge fan of light beers so I have to take that into consideration while reviewing. The color is typical pale gold/dark yellow. Perhaps slightly darker than your average light beer... Still pissy, though. Foamy hog piss head that disappears quickly and almost no lacing. Smells like metallic cheap malt with a touch of hops. Earthy as well. Tastes like a typical macro light but maybe a little more malt/hop flavor. Thin and watery and therefore easy to chug. Decent for a light beer but not very good for a real beer.

Silver can with fancy blue design, Detroit Tigers chill gauge on the back (with prominent, coldness assuring "D").
Smell is thin, non-existent. Most potent aroma is of the metal can.
Taste is bland, unoffensive, with little flavor. Just slightly "beer".
Mouthfeel is good for the style, refreshing.
Drinkability is very good, you could pound these all day and night.
Overall, a light lager. Enough said.

I don't normally review macro lagers but since Labatt Blue was one of the first beers I ever drank regularly (before my introduction to crafts in 2002), I thought I'd review it anyway.
Pours a straw yellow color with a head that fades fast. Aroma is one of malt that smells somewhat like corn. I didn't expect much in this dept, which is fine. Taste is somewhat syrupy and sweet with the consistency of I don't know, corn. Supposedly, it's not supposed to have any adjuncts. However, it's just the taste I get. It goes down smooth and that's it.
If you're looking for a break from crafts, this would probably not be the best choice. However, if you're just looking for a cheap beer to knock back on a lazy day, this is not too bad.

"Imported Daily from Canada" picked up just across the border in Detroit.
Pours a clear, very light yellow color. There is a minimal and quickly disappearing white head. No lacing. Smells of a bit of grass and corn. A bit of a sharp carbonation bite on the tongue. Some flavor, but not much. Very typical macro lager taste, only less (I mean light...). Basically, what is to be expected. Light lager, mass produced, light and easy to drink, less filling. On a hot day, sure. Not bad, just there. And, it was free.

A- An olive tinted yellow. Head is short and light, quickly dissapearing.
S- Very neutral dank smell. Reminds me of socks you find on the floor- they probably weren't worn but they aint clean anymore.
T- Taste is all grain and slightly sugary.
M- Carbination is sharp and doesn't blend well with the taste. The beer doesn't coat the mouth well only the tongue.
D- This certainly isn't the worst you could do for a light beer, the taste is more distinct than many, but the sharp carbination and bad smell are big negatives.

Batty Blue Light
Big Can
Recent brewing, happened 11/06
Medium pour in a shaker
Poured a clear bland yellow with a large frothy mostly diminishing white head.
Smelt of moderate cooked corn and grain.
Taste was upfront moderate sweet fruit-like hops (orange, apricots) and light flour biscuits followed by a moderate bittersweet fruit flower hoppiness. Palate was light bodied, watery, fizzy.
Overall, as far as light lagers go, this is surprisingly tasty. That's all I got.

Appearance:
Poured into a pint glass the beer looks like vinegar. There is a minor head but it vanishes in seconds.
Smell:
Stale wet bread is the first thing that comes to mind, but it's also very reminisent of the dreaded Saturday morning after party urinal scent. There's actually underlying hop notes, but for the most part this beer just smells kind of like morning after.
Taste and Mouthfeel:
The beer is super light as is indicated on the can. It's pretty crisp with minor wheat notes. It doesn't necesarilly taste bad but it doesn't taste like much of anything. There's a terrible beer aftertaste which is my major gripe with macro lager. There just isn't really much to say about how this beer tastes or feels without getting blatantly mean so I'll hold my tongue for now.
Drinkability:
Once you get a good buzz going and look past the lack of flavor you could probably drink about 20 of these. Would you want to? I know I wouldn't. There's only so much urination I can handle in an evening.
Bottom Line:
Surprisingly better then other macro lager beers, but I'll stick with my PBR or Schlitz when money gets tight.

I can't believe I used to drink this beer.
I started my drinking career on blue and blue light in my younger days. It was great, we were the coolest because we weren't drinking keystone...we thought. I took a long break from this beer while in college due to the huge selection at the local bar. I came back to it a while back and (barf) it is disgusting.
The can is fizzy and has a pungent corny smell. For some reason it always tastes like the aluminum can. Maybe a slight rubbery smell? wow. How my taste has changed...

"Skunky" style of aroma with a mild malt background and a hint of more traditional hops.
Light gold yellow, with one inch head that's more steady than average.
Watery quality to taste. Light overall flavor. Starts with little taste, in mid to finish a strong adjunct quality starts. Mild bitterness and a medium long finish that is neutral.
Thin feel, watery with some soft qualities to the carbonation. Somewhat smooth, making it easier to drink quickly.
Simple and easy to drink, others are more offensive (but then I was having a good day that day).

Puors a straw color with a thin, quick receiding head. The smell was not existant with no hints of hops or malt. The taste wasn't so bad. Kind of a grainy taste with the slightest hoppy bitterness. It went down smooth, I'll give it that. I really did enjoy it for a while. A nice beer to bring fishing.

Standard macro brew with a huge water aftertaste. Not my favorite to start with but it seems that this one if the regular Blue diluted with water. Try this from a can in a christmas party and let's just say that next year I'll make sure to bring my own brew.

Very pale yellow in color with a medium sized head that fades fast. Doesn't smell like much. Cereal and little hops, if i had to guess. Tastes watery and unipressive. This isn't a very interesting beer in any aspect. I could drink about 16 of them, though.

This beer when poured out of its can was a very pale watered down yellow color, but was super clear and well carbonated. The head that was produced was pure white in color and was fairly full and cloud like. But this fell to a lifeless liquid in the glass with only a shadow y image of its former cloud self. To my surprise there was some lace left on the sides of the glass from the brief foam. The aromas were faint, I nosed some light overly sweet malt, grains (corn), 1 flower, and a metallic overtone. The tastes were as faint as the aromas, I got a watery sweet malt taste, more corn grains then I care to have, and a brief stab of citrus before it went dry. The aftertaste was well nothing. Light bodied. Overall impression was not that impressive. The can said light and they were right, light aroma, light flavor and a light impression of a beer. To be honest it filled the beer gap for me at 11:00 at night at my buddys house while talking. It was hot, I was thirsty, I got a beer, and it kind of quenched my thirst. I guess it did its job. Not one that I would recommend or if I can care to drink again.

I've never been a huge fan of Labatts but it's on tap all over up here and better than the alternatives at some of the places..I decided to try a master cylinder of their light...I expected more from this...it is extremely light in color like Bud...the nose has a sourish smell...the taste is hardly there...this rivals Coors Light for the most watered down beer out there...if you strain you get some slight grain pushing in...drinkability??? $hit I could can a 12-pack of this in an hour with no problem(I could can a 12 pack of water in an hour too, and this isn't much different)...It also features a dry finish which I don't care for in a beer that has little or no flavor..
Glad I just got one of these..

When I had Labatt Blue light it was on tap at a bar. The coloring was a light yellow/clear and I had the aroma of corn in it for sure and a little malty. The taste was a little blan probably because it was light and not just Labatt Blue. It was also medium carbonated.
