Notes:
Labatt Blue is the best-selling Canadian beer in the world. Introduced in 1951 as Labatt Pilsener, it was named for the colour of its label by fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football team. Blue was the first brand in Canada with a twist-off cap and won the silver medal in the International Lager category at the 1998 Brewing Industry International Awards. Labatt Blue, brewed using specially selected aromatic hops, is a well-balanced, fully matured, full-flavoured beer with a fruity character and a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Pours to a 1/2 inch white head that falls quickly to a thin ring of foam around the glass and yellow gold color. Aroma is a weak grain and slightly buttery. Flavor is a bland mixture of corn and faint hops. Mouthfeel is light and CO2 is appropriate for style. A very common North American lager that is rather unremarkable.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.
A - Pours a clear golden amber, about a finger of white head that dissipates pretty quickly, not much lacing.
S - Malts, alcohol, hops. Beer.
T - Malts, alcohol, toastiness, a certain chewy muskiness (a good word someone else here used) that I would use to describe beers such as this or Molson, Black Label, etc.
M - Not too bad, actually. Dry without too much of a macro kick. Medium-high carbonation and satisfactory aftertaste.
O - Pretty good. One of the best adjuncts/macros.

This is a drinkable beer. It isnt delicious, but it's alright. It's an adjunct lager, if I'm not mistaken, so no sense getting too much into the taste. It has a decent "beer" taste, but nothing to write home about. As ot warms, it leaves a slight filmy coating in the mouth. Drink it straight from the bottle, ice cold, with friends, and you'll have a good time.

As a beer it is ok, but as a pilsener it's terrible. The appearance is ok and the smell too but the taste isn't good for a pilsener. The mouthfeel is average tough but the rest of the beer is certainly below average. In general, this beer is fine but it isn't a pilsener. I would definetly give it a 3 if it was a normal lager.

Had this for the FIRST TIME finally. I always told myself never to drink these kinds of beers ... but hey, at least it wasn't Bud Light.
Appearance: About what you'd expect ... it has a pretty nice head on it, which is surprising, but it really just looks like Budweiser.
Smell: Cheap, lousy, weak smell. It could be worse...
Taste: A bit better. Watered down tasting, which is to be expected, but surprisingly drinkable regardless.
Mouthfeel: Watered down. Not very pleasant.
Overall, I'd definitely choose this over some other cheap beers of its kind, but seeing as how it's an import, it'd cost more. I would NEVER buy this at a store, but like I said, I'd choose this over some other American beers of this dumpy variety. Among the worst beers I've had, but I can drink it without gagging.

Labatt Blue is the most decent beer I have had in Canada.
This AAL actually tastes like a pale lager, more than Miller, and Bud ever will claim.
Pale yellow in color, off white, fast reducing head
Tastes: grass, wet cereal, malt, and a hint of corn
Mouthfeel: Watery with moderate carbonation
Overall, this isn't a bad beer. But, I won't be having it again unless it is the only decent option.

Poured a crystal clear dark golden yellow with almost a hint of orange with a thin quickly dissipating white head.
The smell is thin, a bit sweet and bready with just a hint of grassy hops.
The flavor is a bit sweeter than the typical Macro Lager, has a light bready quality and a bit of corn flavor. No hop flavors at all to speak of, and no perceptible bitterness.
The mouthfeel is woefully thin and watery.
Your typical Macro Lager, nothing special here.

Light, transparent white-grape juice colored brew. Surprisingly has descent head and lacing.
Smell of adjuncts, stale corn, rice and of course, skunk.
Adjuncts are less prominent in the flavor but still there. Fairly clean with a crisp, herbal hop character.
Light feel with lively carbonation and dry finish.
Not terrible but not great either. Just a small step above your average adjunct lager.

Easily the best tasting beer in the " standard " section of most supermarket's. Labatt Blue has a somewhat distinct taste, And it is surprisingly VERY smooth for being a so called " average beer ". I picked up a 6 pack for about $7, Which is a great price for what you get. MUCHHH better than Bud Light. This beer makes me wonder why people even still pay the same price for something as horrendous as that famous carbonated piss water. Definitely my beer of choice if I'm just looking to get a quick drunk for cheap

12oz bottle, nonic, no discernable freshness markings.
It looks exactly like one would expect a macro lager to look; startlingly clear, pale yellow, very white head, copious bubbles.
Gratingly dry metallic. A little bit of saltine, possibly some corn. It is what it is; fizzy yellow beer with not much going on.
It tastes of adjunct, whichever one they use in Labatt Blue, in an industrial processed sugar way. Slightly metallic with almost no sweetness despite the sense of sugars.
Blue is a very fizzy beer. The bubbles are palate stinging long after the pour.
Overall it is stark. Flavor and aroma are almost non-existent, so all the bubbles just nip and nip, with nothing to release onto your tongue.

a - very pale yellow and crystal clear with lots of fizz and carbonation. 1 finger head that disappears quickly
s - malty and grainy
t - very watery with slight grainy notes. Nothing else going on here. Dry finish. No off or bad flavoring at all, just lacking much flavor.
m- watery but ok
overall - a tolerable and ok session drinker. I've had more refreshing adjuncts but this one still serves the purpose ok.

Poured from a 11.5 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a straw yellow with a decent white head, but it does not stay very long at all. Doesn't really smell of anything, mainly of malt if anything. Tastes like a regular adjunct lager, just a little better than most. It is light bodied that is not overly carbonated and is definitely drinkable all night. Overall, a slightly below average beer, but definitely not offensive.

They really shouldn't sell this beer. I don't know how they stay in business. It tastes like sweet skunk. It's so weak though, it could be a lot more objectionable. I've actually had a lot worse but this is definitely not worth drinking.

Appearance - Has a clear golden color with a small head that dissipates instantly. Looks very crisp and has decent lacing.
Smell - Corn, a subtle sweetness, and bread.
Taste - Corn, rice, quite sweet, and some malts.
Mouthfeel - Medium body with medium carbonation.
Overall - This beer is very popular in my area, but this is actually my first time trying it.. It's not the greatest beer out there, but it's not terrible. I don't understand why so many people buy it though.

Poured from 11.5 oz. bottle into Samuel Adams pint glass.
Appearance: Pours an extremely light golden, borderline clear, with a two-finger white head that dissipates into zero. No lacing on the glass to speak of.
Smell: Metal, adjuncts, water
Taste: This tastes like a light beer, like a low calorie beer. It's insanely light. Are there even hops in this? All I taste is water and light as hell adjuncts, and grass. Lots of grass.
Mlouthfeel: Light as hell in body, high in carbonation. This is the beer you want if you wanna drink a shit load and get sloshed with beer with zero flavor.
Overall: This is almost alcoholic water. I swear, Miller Lite has more flavor than this.

I haven't tried many Canadian beers but the ones I have tried including this one all tasted quite the same. They all had a sweet front fading into a bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel was decent and the color is nice. I guess I need to try more Canadian styles so I will have a better understanding.

poured from the bottle into a pilsner glass
A - Pours a perfectly transparent light straw color. Tons of bubbles rush to the fluffy, white, three finger head which I bet won't make it to halfway down the glass. And I win as the head is gone about a third down the glass. Leaves behind several small splotches of lacing.
S - Light Grain notes with a faint bitterness. About as expected.
T - Some light cereal grains upfront. The body has a more cereal grain taste with a light bitterness. Cereal malt finish.
M - Light bodied and highly carbonated without coming off watery in the least.
Much like Canadians there is nothing offensive about this beer, which is perhaps its biggest strong suite. It's nice that there wasn't any noticeable corn flavors in this brew and while far from impressive, the cereal grains translate into a simple and clean brew. I would take this over most of the Mexican and American adjunct lagers that I have sampled so far and would even consider purchasing it as a plain, simple, no frills cheap beer for the summer.

I have a bit of a soft spot for this brew because it reminds me of my days drinking at college at Plattsburgh. It has a corn taste and some maltiness. It's nothing special, but for a regular macro brew lager it has its qualities.
It's a slight bit darker than the light version, which isn't saying too much. Mild malt scent.

Living up in Buffalo, NY, I was raised on this stuff. It was taboo to have Bud or Coors. It was the beer from right across the border and home to Labatt USA importer. Taste? Better than most. At least
this stuff had some taste. You can drink a lot of this stuff. It's average, with nothing really going for it except its cheaper and you can drink it like water.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.
A: Not bad for the style. Dark-ish clear gold with a fizzy white head. Retention is average.
S: Sweet grain smell. Pretty typical for the style.
T: Estery, adjunct-y goodness. As noted by others, the aftertaste is a bit interesting. A bit difficult to point out what it is. It's neither pleasant nor unpleasant. The beer overall isn't horribly offensive. There are hints of malt and grain here and there, but nothing substantial.
I would say this is not as bad as Miller Lite, but not as good as, say, Coors Banquet, which is one of the better AALs, imo..
S: Actually a bit heavier and smoother than would be expected. Average.
O: Run of the mill AAL. Would take it if offered to me for free, but wouldn't spend money on it.

11.2oz bottle poured into a Shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Clear straw yellow color with plenty of carbonation coming up through the beer. White 1/4" foam upon pouring died down to a thin ring at the edge and nothing across the top. Very mild amounts of lacing noted.
Smell: When first poured, maybe the barest hint of apples and some crisp malt, but after awhile, not even that.
Taste: Mild in taste, crisp, grain is notable, very mild bitter finish with more of a clean mild malt aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy and very prickly on the tongue, but once that clears, watery. Sadly not good.
Overall / drinkability: Meh is about the best I can say. When its very cold there is still something there, but as it warms up, it's all gone, and at that point you really have to chug the stuff fast to get much of anything out of it. Taste and appearance average for this style of beer and nothing special but not bad. Might be good during a hot day, but otherwise I'm not impressed. Oh well, not everything can be good.

Somebody left a decent amount of this beer at my house, so what the heck - I'll drink one for scientific purposes.
A: Poured from the bottle into a pilsner glass, it looks pretty good for what it is - light yellow body with nice rising bubbles and a 2-finger bright white head. Some lace clings to the glass after each sip.
S: OK, this is where it starts to go downhill. Some grain and then corn. Perhaps a faint, faint, faint sense of florally hops - but that might be wishful thinking.
T: Follows the nose - husky grain, corn and maybe some diacetyl coating the tongue (is that possible in an AAL?). Too sweet - too much like corn syrup, I think it is. Finishes with a lingering, mouth-coating sweetness; there's no real bitterness providing any sense of balance. Thankfully it's light overall, or else that sweetness would be particularly off-putting.
M: Light in heft, carbonation appears adequate but there's still a slick feel to it. Maybe that's just the impression from the palate-coating sweetness (or the diacetyl), but there is a surprising slickness here.
O: There was a time when I looked forward to going to Syracuse to visit an old college roommate. He swore by this stuff then - mainly, I think, because it was cheap and perceived as fresh (having come not too far from Canada). But now when I go to Syracuse I visit Blue Tusk and drink good beer. For what this is, it's OK. I've had worse.

In the great Canadian Macro Lager Battle, this loses out to Molson. Fizzy, weak, odorless and just kind of weak tasting, with a distinctly watery and undercarbonated quality. There's really very little to say about some beers, just that I found this had even less taste than Molson, and what was there was tinny.

Tulip
A - golden straw in color, 1/8 finger very white head that dissipates in moments and no lacing
S - lots of grain, funk, very sweet malt, slight hop note and very breast
T - not bad, better than bud, very sweet, light malts, grains, some hopish notes and a bit of spice
M - light bodied, medium plus acidity, low complexity, no balance and low finish
D - very easy to drink, perfect for tailgates, lakes, beach parties and such. Not much going on but not terrible
Final thought - this is a great alternative to bud and the like. Only $1 a pop, not bad
