P: Cloudy apricot body with a creamy white head. Some specks floating around and slight effervescence streaming toward the top.
S: Dry straw, toasted non sweet coconut, pine resin, clove, aged mellowed out bourbon, fresh leather and timid of tropical fruit.
T/M: Dry straw and hop presence with a balanced kiss of booze. Orange peel, pilsner malts, spices, mineral water, hints of pine and astringent bourbon. Mouthfeel starts off creamy then transitions to a sparkling water feel and finishes assertively dry.
O: Taste is overall pretty much bitter unlike the more juicy fruit forward nose. Although I haven't had many bourbon aged pale ales this is the best one so far. With that said its still not a great profile IMO. The bourbon plays a supporting role to the base pale ale which is nice and decently balanced. I thought the bourbon was too grainy and lacked the sweet mash flare I was wanting.

Orange with a thin white head. Looks more like a wheat.
Hops (cascade, maybe?), musty.
Definitely an APA, not overly aggressive on the hops. The bite is eased and rounded off by the barrel flavor, bourbon however is not apparent. Straight forward with a bit of citrus, not really anything in the way off spice. A sunshine beer.
If it was crisp, the barrel age did away with that.

neat beer thanks to furealz (Reddit).
Pours a big fluffy slightly fizzy almost 2 finger head that fades at a med pace, with bubbles streaming up, leaving nice big bubbled lacing, super hazy slight coppery orange color.
Nose is pretty nice, a big bourbon aroma, barrel juice mostly, with barrel rounding vanilla and a bit of buttery oak, but with that is nice hops, floral fruity hops with a mild citrus and a nice tropical fruit guava, as well as an apricot and pear like fruit, and a nice tangerine like citrus at the end.
Taste starts with another blend of barrel and hops, spicy chewy hops to start, little pine, with an earthy quality, into a mild citrus and tangerine again, and very little tropical fruit with again that light guava and hint mango, as well as mild stone fruit too. Lots of barrel too, vanilla and buttery barrel with some nice smooth barrel juice bourbon without the heat which is nice too. Quite smooth as it all blends nicely. Malts add a touch of a creamy feel and hint of grainy malt. bitterness is fair and increases as it goes, with a little orange citrus coming through towards the finish. Finish is dry and bitter, bitterness really ramps, with more apricot like stone fruit, little tangerine citrus, hint of pine and spicy hop, and more bourbon barrel juice and buttery oak.
Mouth is med bod, touch creamy, lots of carbonation and perhaps a bit too much as it gets a little distracting.
Overall quite nice, a great blend of hops and bourbon barrel that I would initially expect to clash or at least just not meld well, but instead they seem to really go well together. Reminds me of the first time I had Burton Baton from Dogfish Head, the really interesting characters blended well, this is better than that too, pretty tasty.
