A: light amber or dark gold in color poured a 2 finger width head collapsing to a thin film in about 30 seconds but leaving good lacing on the glass.
S: as with the style banana and raw sugar are prominent but a faint scent of raspberry mixes in to make the beer very tempting to sip deep.
T: sip deep indeed. Of course banana and sugar are the main characters. But the alcohol content brings out these flavors even more while adding a punch in the mouth.
M/D: the alcohol content distracts you from the smooth and medium body but as stated above brings out the flavors. Overall a great beer to add to your rotation if you light Belgian beers.

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high light beige head that has very good retention properties and hardly died down.
S: Moderate aromas of dark fruits, light fruits, pale malts and yeast is present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but has notes of spices and hints of alcohol towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No dryness is perceptible.
O: This beer hides its alcohol rather will and isn't very difficult to drink. It has a lot of dark fruits for the style and seems a little like a Belgian Strong Dark Ale in some ways.

Bottle 330 ml, at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV is 9%
Impressive appearance with a live deep orange/light amber colour, a finger of white, soapy head with very good retention and lots of activity in the glass.
Aroma of bananas, yeast, plums, some spices.
Taste is sweet and fruity, becomes slighty bitter afterwards, a bit hoppy and another bit alcoholic.
Quite carbonated, medium dry on the palate. Medium to full body.
Nice beer, goes down easily despite the high ABV.

750ml bottle purchased in a Paris supermarket (3.70 euros...???).
A: Pours a brassy clear light amber with a small white head.
S: Clean sweet malt - molasses, cakey graininess, a bit of alcohol.
T: Very sweet. Notes of maple syrup, sugary pale malt, mild herbal note. The 9% is somewhat perceptible. Finish is dry.
M: Tight, crisp, fine carbonation, medium-bodied, a bit syrupy.
O: A bit too sweet and syrupy.

330ml bottle, poured into a large tulip shaped wine glass. Dark golden colour, 2 finger well retained head, clear. Aroma was wild belgian yeast. Tasted yeast and sweet berries, had the usual Leffe sharpness. Slight burn from the booze at the finish but it generally it was hidden well. Smooth mouthfull, well carbonated, slightly chewy. Overall enjoyed it, unmistakably Leffe.
