Brewmaster's seasonal selection, served every year in May.

A rich, flavorful Bock to celebrate the coming of Spring. It's noticeably malty and sweet, with a warming alcohol note.

Deep golden color with a nice foamy head. Bready malts and a distinctive sweetness.
Great example of the style.

Appearance: Thick eggshell head. Deep amber. Excellent overall impression.

Smell: Full sweet malt with spice tones. Moderate strength.

Taste: Moderate length flavor curve with full but not overpowering strength. Spice character early followed by sweet malt and minor noble hop presence. Carbonation adds a "tongue tickle" for totality of the curve.

Mouthfeel: Excellent presence. No aftertaste. All elements are subtle and can be appreciated by the experienced drinker.

Drinkability: High alcohol. HB only serves in 20oz. No Mass servings!!! This brew WILL sneak up on you.

Prosit!

A rosy clear light mahogany color with a whispy bit of white fluff on top and good lacing on this chilled goblet served at Jax in Lake Mary, FL. The aroma is nutty with raisin and toffee. The taste brings more toffee and caramel, cherry and mandarine orange alcohol highlights. Very smooth, mellow, politely carbonated. Pretty drinkable. A little bit wine-like. Good stuff.

A spring release I found as fall rolled in. No problem as this beer may have six months in the bottle.

It poured just great, good copper rust color. A nice full soft, pillow like head that maintained well. Lace was spotted.

The aroma has wiffs of malty sweetness. Toffee and brown sugar.

The taste is sweet carmalized malts, hints of toffee, with a nice alcohol backdrop that stings the palate. Good abv that allows the beer to be felt and tasted.

The mouthfeel is smooth but left with a slight metalic taste and a mild cotton feel.

Drinkability, very smooth and easy. A good beer to be had. If you can find it, try it.

A- 2in of cream colored frothy foam atop a golden amber brew. head had good retention but left only a small amount of lace trailing behind.

S- tomato soup, yeasty sourdough bread, spicy pale barley, diacetyl, and maybe some biscuit.

T- tin can, savory spices like tarragon maybe? tomatoes, meuslix cereal, grainy barley husk, dries grass, granola. tastes very german. faint grassy hops with a nutty sweet aftertaste.

MF- medium carbonation, surprisingly refreshing, a little syrupy, and slightly cloying.

Exceptional pour--good head, head retention, and lacing.. Aroma of fruit, raisins, malts and a weak sting of alcohol. Strong malty body with hops also coming in. Exceptional complex flavor with nice balance of toffee/candy tones and maltWeak sting of alcohol, and palate is quite "soapish" slippery. Not bad at all.

My first officially documented Maibock,

Pours a dark golden maple syrup-brown...

good honey, malt, fresh baked cookie aroma...

has a very nice bitterness level...

nicely balanced...

an enjoyable brew that works well in many levels...

i can see this as a staple in a bock lovers fridge...

i will buy afew bottles for my grandpa and uncle (dutch-german backgrounds), bcuz i know they would love this!

On tap at the Gingerman in Dallas, served in a pint glass. Nice golden amber color with a small head but alright lacing. Grainy, slightly sweet malt aroma. Flavor is mostly malt, but weak at best, some modest caramel, mixed with pleasant but light floral hops. Finish is clean but sweet. Full-bodied.

An alright bock, but by no means exceptional.
