Poured from a 12 oz. stubby brown bottle to an Imperial Pint glass. No freshness date to be found. It's from their Spring Sampler, so it must be fresh. $14.99 for a 12-pack.
Appearance: Pours copper with a 3-finger fluffy as a cloud off-white head. Lacing in patchy clumps. Head retention is pretty good, seems to be staying around. Beer is absolutely and completely translucent. Plenty of carbonation bubbles can be seen floating to the top.
Smell: Not as prominent in the hops as I would like from an IPA. What's there is grassy. Slight astringency as it warms. Mild grapefruit citrus and caramel malt. Kind of an artificial candy type fruitiness.
Taste: Hits you up front with citrus and bitter earthy hops. Sweet on the back end. Lingering bitterness with a pretty strong citrus. Again, pretty mild on the hops.
Mouthfeel: Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Coarse on the palate.
Drinkability: Low
It's not a bad beer, it just isn't hitting the right notes for me. The flavor is decent but simple. The mouthfeel is pretty annoying, and the astringency in the nose can be a little off-putting. For an IPA it really isn't a particularly hoppy beer, with the malt playing the major role.

Scored a six pack of this when I was living in Wisconsin. Pours a dark golden color, almost a full inch of white head on the top of it. Aroma was midwestern grain, and only a smattering of what may be noble hops.
Taste, kinda malty, not overly hoppy, not exactly that earthy presence of English ipas, the malt finish is more American and dry. A little bit of soapy bitterness to it. 40ibu? Its a decent ipa, but don't fall over yourself to get it was what I used to say about this beer.

From tasting notes. A brilliant copper amber pour produces a finely bubbled 1” clingy white foam collar. Malt and hops on the nose and the palate are well balanced. Medium body and carbonation. I am drinking this at a Thai restaurant and the beer cuts the Thai sauce and lifts the spicy sauce right off your palate. It is a perfect match.
