Being from the Twin Cities, everybody knows this beer. It's ubiquitously on tap and that's a very good thing. Usually, it's this or lawnmower beer. So, you start ot love it just for that reason alone, but then you drink it in the context of your home (could be a bottle effect) and it doesn't measure up as the oustanding beer you felt it was back at the bar.

So, that said, this is an IPA that tastes like grapefruit. If there ever was a grapefruit flavored brew, this is the one to compare it with. It's still a non-fruit beer, but the overpowering flavor of grapefruit is all I can grasp in it any longer. Yes, it's refreshing and thus highly drinkable.

If it's available, you need to try it.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Standard amber/copper color. Cream colored head recedes to a chunky film, good lines of lacing remain.

Aroma: Malty sweetness blends with spicy herbal hops.

Taste: Toasted grains and sweet malts up front. Hops kick in, faint citrus, lemon peel, subtle piny hops.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: Pretty standard, but not unlikable at all.

L- Clear golden orange with a nice fluffy head, the head sticks around for a while and leaves some nice stringy lace on the glass.

S- Mild aroma of pine malts and caramel malt.

T- Caramel malt with hints of citrus hops mixed throughout. Finish is crisp and refreshing a nice one for a hot summer day.

M- Light in body ad well carbonated.

O- Very refreshing summer session beer, the 5.3% ABV works well for it with that in mind,.

A- Orange/amber with lots of active carbonation. Off white head with excellent retention and poor lacing. Lacing improves as the head starts to diminish

S- Citrus, malt, hops. Not too complex.

T- Malt up front with lemon peel, fading into a dry and bitter grapefruit finish.

M- Medium/light body with a nice dose of carbonation. The carbonation comes across a little prickly.

O- It's nice, and not too complex. It's just a straight-forward, easy-drinking Pale Ale.
