Corporate. I went there last night. Lot's of beers on draft, most are not the best. The host that seated us when asked by a member of my party what he recommended his response was, "I've only had the bud and bud light". He should not work there. From that point things did get better. Apps ordered were: Garlic noodles w/ shiitake schrooms, coconut shrimp, and the lobster, artichoke dip. The dip and the noodles were great. My entree was the ginger crusted salmon. It was on a bed of wasabi mashed potatoes. The meal was delicious, I highly recommend it. One of the best parts other then the beer was the presentation. The chef really took his time to make your plate look special. Which is exaclty why I gave it an A.

I find the yardhouse a great place to have a meal and a few beers everytime I visit San Diego. You will find a vast selection of beers here. I believe there are over 100 beers on tap at any given time. They even sell some beers mixed together to create some interesting tastes. Food here is great, but a bit pricey. Service was up to par, and it has a great atmosphere. As with many upscale bar scenes, it is really easy to run up a hefty tab. Expect to pay between 60 to 100 pigskins per person to have a meal and a few beers. All in all a great place to go have a blast every so often.

i went to San Diego on Vacation with my sister and brother-in-law and we were at this place every night if not ending the night there, we found this place to be a very good hang out spot, not to mention over 100 beers on tap we were always satisfied with our drink selections. as far as service, i am from NY and i found it odd that the place gave me and my family a hard time with our ID's granted they were out of state license's but i think most people know what a NY license looks like, other then that i found the place to be very enjoyable and if i am ever in San Diego again i will definalty be hitting up that place again

A nice spot downtown with a lively crowd. We were visiting San Diego on a Road Trip and our hotel was only a few blocks away, so we had to see this place.
Selection, as with any Yard House, is usually really good. Quantity can sometimes supercede quality of beers, but this time around, the draft list didn't disappoint. I think the entire draft list was either West Coast beer or European, with only Dogfish being the East Coast brew.
Our server was helpful and admitted that he didn't know a lot about beer, so he had the manager come over. He talked to us for a while and we ended up talking about the next Yard House opening in Dedham, MA and how he was going to be there for the opening. He ended up paying for the second round of beers, which was very appreciated.
The food was great. We had a tower of Onion Rings and we all enjoyed our meals. The quality of everything was great and I would never hesitate to have lunch, dinner, or a beer at any Yard House.

Went to Yardhouse in San Diego (Gas Lamp District). It was happy hour and it was hoppin'.
Sat at the bar, and the bartenders (3) were all of the female persuasion and pleasant on the eyes. The bartenders were fairly versed in the brews, but not experts, but that was okay with me.
Drank several Belgian imports on draft (St Bernardus Abt 12, Delerium Tremens etc) and they were $4.25 ea at Happy hour, so I thought that was a great deal. Appetizers were 1/2 price, got a large plate of Nachos for $4. Overall a great experience.
Highly recommend at Happy Hour!

The Yard House is a huge place that reminds me a lot of Heartland brewery when you walk in from a decor standpoint. The place is huge and you can tell they get a lot of clueless tourists and other patrons in here just due to the size and location. Lots of wood and nice high celings with a huge circular bar that must seat 60 or so per side. They have a sign there bragging that they have the largest draft selelction of anywhere in the world. They say they have 230 different beers on tap.
Let me say there were plenty I had never tried before. They were not cool about giving samples for free which kind of sucks. The 4 oz sample would be $2 and I was here at happy hour where all pints were 3 bucks. You simply cant go wrong with that. I do beleive the happy hour is only on weekdays though. They also had some nice food items on the happy hour menu and they were excellent and cheap. The bartenders were not beer experts but they were pleasant enough. I liked the place enough to go back twice during my recent trip to San Diego would definitely recommend it but it does seem a little too corporate or something.

This is usually my go-to spot for a good beer when I'm in the Gaslamp area downtown. There are other options but somehow I always end up at the Yard House. When in here my go-to beer seems to be St Bernardus Abt 12, which of course is an incredible beer. They've got more taps than any place I've ever seen. The usual crap beer, along with quite an array of good beers and occasional seasonals. You can pick up an Arrogant Bastard, a Delirium Tremens, or a Pabst Blue Ribbon. Something for everyone. Beers are about 5 or 6 bucks though, so it can be a little expensive. Decent food too, with quite a variety.

The Yard House really gives Rock Bottom a run for the best overall chain-feel. It's nice though... wood floors, stainless steel bar top, TV's, and art on the walls.
"The World's Largest Selection Of Draft" though? I'd have to question that. But they do have a lot of beers. The question then is how good are they, and how fast do they turn over. Well I've never had a bad beer, so OK on freshness; but it seems like a lot of their beers are pretty basic (which I guess is OK, since they're catering to a mainly tourist and semi-elite crowd - meaning not beer nerds!).
The service is good, and pretty quick. It can sometimes be hard to keep up in these larger places, but they seem to have it under control.
As for pricing, well, it is San Diego. I thought that prices were reasonable.
Might or might no be worth a stop depending on your bent - I personally like places with a little more individual character.

Was in the Gaslamp district of San Diego so had a chance to visit for dinner. We arrived at about 5 pm on a Thursday, so was not busy at all, although it got very busy as the evening went on. As previously mentioned there are lots of beers on tap, I counted 115 on the beer menu. Most are indeed local west cost beers so the only downside is not a great selection of international beers. Also, I could not find one example of a Belgian style strong ale on the menu with all those beers. We sampled 8 different beers for a dollar each for a 4 oz glass, and then finally ordered a pint of the favorite of the lot. The service was great, with a very chatty waitress who knew most of the beers and had tried many of them. The music was a bit loud for conversation, but not too bad. Given we were there during happy hour (between 4-6) we found the prices very reasonable. Pints of beer were $3 and most appitizers were half price. A very good experience, I'd go again when in town.

The fact that this place is downtown means Ill rarely get to go there but I must say the food was great and they did have a ton of beer on tap.
I had an Oaked Arrogant Bastard which was great because its a hard beer to find and it wasnt any more expensive than the rest of the beers. This beer alone is worth stoping in because it can run upwords of $16 a 6 pack so instead just stop in and grab a pint!
The lighting was a little dark but if you like beer and dont mind going downtown Id suggest going here rather than the Hard Rock or something along the sorts.
