I guess I caught 'em at the right time of year, this fully copper ale was a nice little bitter. Good tinny shine though a little hazed, it helds it crackly head well enough.
Smell was shy at best, mainly little caramel and biscuity whiffs with a crunchy, herbal, lemony hop notion through out. Flavor was a little buttery, but I don't mind some diacetyl in an English ale, and fully malty with a serene hop burnish in the finish. Balanced but grainy enough to be a right bitter and not just another american-ized pale ale. Despite its moderate personality I came back for more, and happily so. Mild but pleasantly contented.

A brownish red bodied ale that has good retention and very nice lacing. It has moderate carbonation. The smell is of caramel and some hops. The taste is caramel, butterscotch, toffee with some chocolate. It also has a nutty taste to it. Seems to have walnut and pistachio in it. The mouthfeel is a medium body that has a nice crisp finish. It is a very drinkable beer that went nicely with my meal.

Poured from the tap at bar. Poured a nice filtered copper brown with a small head. The aromas of vinyl and green apples were prominent. Flavors were not too far off that. I'm not sure what was going on at the time but I was not impressed with this offering. I'll give them another chance the next time I'm around.

I've had limited experience with this style of beer, so it was a bit difficult to compare. However, the guy next to me at the bar thought it was a great bitter. Nice hoppiness, smell, and appearance ( good bit of head on the top), but I could skip this one next time. Not my favorite.

Clear amber with a slightly more substantial head than the other offerings, leaving thin brussels lace. Medium-low carbonation. Butterscotch, toffee and caramel are very evident in the nose owing to the yeast strain and fermentation temperature. Little to no hop aroma , soft mouthfeel and medium body. Sweet caramel malt background with a round English, mild bittering hop finish. Similar to Traverse Brewing Company Manitou Ale (Mackinaw and TBC use the same brewing system and yeast strain). A little too high in the diacetyl for the style.
