12 oz bottle pours a hazed gold color with a fluffy off-white head. Decent retention and leaves a nice sheet of lace.

Nose is zesty, herbal and floral hoppy goodness. The Herkules hop is an interesting varietal indeed. The base beer is crisp and grainy smelling with a little bit of earthy biscuit.

Taste is crisp and delightful with a zing of floral hop flavor...this hop is almost spicy. More hop flavor than hop bitterness and the malts stay light and neutral. This is one of the better 'showcase-hop' beers I have had and some nice lemongrass comes out as it warms. Mouthfeel is light and breezy, just an easy drinking APA. This is one of those beers I will be happy to pick up another sixer.

The beer pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma has some wheat notes, as well as some grass, lemon and a bit of orange. The flavor is similar. There is a lot of wheat, caramel and biscuit malt notes, as well as some white pepper and orange peel. I get only a slight amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

On cask at Hay Merchant in Houston.

A: Pours with a perfect and very attractive orange/copper color. A two finger white head forms with excellent retention and rings of lave all the way down the glass.
S: A really good hoppy aroma. Herbal, white pepper, citrus, fresh cut grass. A lot of descriptors. Though it is all there in balance. Great balance with some toasted caramel malt.
T: Follows the nose with a great hop character. Herbal, peppery, grassy, floral again. Perfectly balanced with sweet malt. Toasted bread and light toffee.
M/D: A medium body. Soft and fine carbonation. Very clean and perfectly smooth. So easy to drink. All day with this.

Real Ale indeed. This is awesome on cask. I have not had a bottle, so I don't know how they compare. Though given my experience with cask versus bottle, I am pretty sure this is superior. Highly recommended on cask.

Good looking brew, tannish orange and mostly clear with rising bubbles and a great 1.5 finger white fluffy head and good lacing.

Aroma is great! Crisp and spicy hops are very up front. Pepper and citrus, some earthy malts, and a little fruit.

Flavor is also quite good. Very hoppy for a pale ale, this could easily be an IPA from all the hops flavor, but it's not quite as bitter. Earthiness and peppery spices again make a showing, along with some citrus and a little biscuit malt.

Body is pretty rich and full for a pale ale, yet drinkability is maintained. An earthy hop bitterness finishes it off.

Overall this is a very likeable beer and I'm glad I took the chance and bought a whole sixer of it. I will now have to try more beers from this brewery!

Lightly chilled 12 oz. bottle poured into a stemless tulip pint. Best-by date 1.1.13.

Look- Pale amber-orange with plenty of suspended chunks of what appear to be pelleted hops. I wouldn't call it sediment- there is a LOT of stuff floating in this beer. Dense, craggy head leaves plenty of lacing.

Smell- Musky, spicy, subdued lime and sweet citrus. Perhaps some peach, apricot, pear. Fairly sweet, musky biscuit backbone. Nice.

Taste- Much, much drier and earthier than expected. Not much of the sweet citrus present in the nose makes it through, although what's there is an interesting subdued passionfruit-lemon-herbal flavor; overall a very clean, tealike bitterness with a strong toasted cracker malt showing. I don't know that I've tasted this hop before, but in this beer it comes off as a much less aggressive Simcoe. Fairly nuanced, tasty.

Mouthfeel- Light-medium body, light carbonation, juicy, crisp feel. Exceptional drinkability.

Overall- Very nice showcase of a hop variety that I've not seen before, if all pale ales were this well done, I'd be a very happy man. Intriguing, certainly worth trying if you can get it and I think I'll snag another sixer.

Bought a 6 pack at HEB in Round Rock for about 8 bucks.

Very odd look on this one. Yellow/orange hue, decent head and more than adequate lacing, but just a ton of sediment floating around in the pint glass. Looked a bit unappealing.

An odd scent as well...some sour funk, earthy hops, maybe a ripe apple too? Not bad, just not sure how to categorize.

Taste is similar to the smell. An almost sour, earthy hoppiness and some very biscuity malt. Getting a fairly heavy bit of lemon rind as well. This one is just hard to categorize. A very dry, slightly bitter mouthfeel makes you want to take another sip.

It almost seems like this beer is in the final stage...just not quite ready for prime time. I may be judging too harshly based on the amount of sediment.

Not one of my Real Ale favorites.

Thanks to Shoky01 for this

App- A very clear and bright orange color with a really great amount of translucency. The head on the top was a good 2 fingers and feel to a very nice amount of lace and cling. The lines fell as you took each sip. Very nice looking beer.

Smell- Well I was all excited about this new hop, but it was just kinda there for me. Was looking more for the big tropical citrus burst but instead get more rind with some peach juice and a bit of what I would call some pine needles mixed with dry crackers.

Taste- I was suprised again at this one from the flavor stand point. It had a lot of fruit behind it, but seemed to be like a small unmixed lemonade flavor when you had too much water without enough mix. Zesty, pine and some deep citrus. Just didnt all flow, but was still pretty good.

Mouth- It was fairly light bodied and transitioned into a semi light carbonation level. A bit weak on both aspects. The residual light lemonade and grainy feel was okay. Wouldve prefered more of a punch from it.

Drink- It was good, just didnt blow me away. Fairly solid with a new hop. Good extra.
